  • This paper presents 3D collision deformation modelling methodologies using photogrammetry for reconstruction of vehicle accidents. A vehicle's deformation shape in collision provides important information on how the vehicle collided. So effective measurement(scanning) and construction of a corresponding appropriate model are essential in the analysis of collision deformation shape for obtaining much information related to collision accident. Two measurement methods were used in this study: Indirect-photogrammetry which requires relatively small amount of photos or videos, and direct-photogrammetry which requires large amount of photos directly taken for the purpose of 3D modelling. When the indirect-photogrammetry method, which was mainly used in this study, lacked enough photographic information, already secured 2D numerical deformation data was used as a compensation. This made 3D collision deformation modelling for accident reconstruction analysis possible.

  • The 3D Image which embodies real object to 3D space of computer enables various geometrical analysis as well as visualization of complex 3D shape by giving sense for the real and cubic effect that can not be offered in 2D image. Human gives real object to same physical properties in 3D space imagination world of computer, and it is expected that this enables offering of various information by user strengthening interface between human-computer to observe object in real condition. In this study, formal style routine of 3D image creation applying digital photogrammetry was designed for more practical, highly trusty 3D image creation, and the system was emboded using object-oriented technique which strengthen user interface. Also, the discontinuity information about rock slope using 3D image is acquired that is orientation, persistence, spacing and aperture etc.

  • Using the dynamic explicit program NET3D, oblique impact between long rod penetrator and metallic plate was analyzed. Compared with an experiment and AUTODYN-3D analysis result, the accuracy of NET3D program was examined. It was proved that NET3D program could analyze comparatively exactly oblique impact phenomenon between long rod penetrator and metallic plate. The final deformed configuration of penetrator predicted by NET3D program was more close to experimental result than commercial program AUTODYN-3D. But, in order to increase the reliability of NET3D program in the simulation of tensile fracture phenomenon, the additional research is required.

  • The A detailed 3D finite-element analysis model of a human foot has been developed by converting CT scan images to 3D CAD models in order to analyze the distribution of plantar pressure. The 3D foot model includes all muscles, bones, and skin. On the basis of this model and the pressure distribution results, shoes for diabetes patients, which can make the plantar pressure distribution uniform, may be designed through finite-element contact analysis.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze lower limb muscle activity and 3D motion analysis according to change foot arch height during walking. We selected 9 young and healthy people who have been normal foot. And we selected 7 young and healthy people who have been flatfoot. So, people were divided into 2 groups and walked platform during 2 minutes twice for checked by 3D motion analysis. These data were characterized by EMG measurements of three muscles( tibialis anterior, medial and lateral gastrocnemius) while they were walking. The collected data were analyzed by Independent t test using the SPSS statistics program(Ver 12.0). In foot arch change, there were no significant difference in three muscles 3D motion analysis also found that there were no significant difference in joint angles. In this study was to analyze lower limb muscle activity and 3D motion analysis according to change foot arch, but there were no significant difference in 6 muscles neither joint angles.

  • Recently, earthquakes have occurred in our country and seismic stability of high-rise buildings in large cities is being a growing interest and thus the related studies have been increased. Also the grounds are considered indirectly in most of seismic designs and analyses and seismic researches based on 3D dynamic analysis are insufficient. In this study, therefore, 2D and 3D dynamic analyses were performed based on the SSI complete model including grounds and the behavior was compared and analyzed. For dynamic modeling, linear time history analyses were performed by using MIDAS GTS NX. For this purpose, a high-rise building was assumed to be constructed on top of the bedrock and surrounded by a surface layer. A sensitivity analysis was performed with the selected parameters. The dynamic behavior was compared and analyzed in terms of horizontal displacements, drift ratios, bending stresses, and weak parts. In most cases, 2D dynamic behavior was calculated to be larger than 3D's and thus it shows more conservative results with increasing number and size of weak parts.

  • In this paper, an analysis of the optimized 3D depth of integral imaging is proposed. We achieve this by calculating the amount of image distortion and considering the threshold of recognition in the human visual system. Experimental results are also provided to test the theory.

  • A Superconducting Rotary Machine (SRM) is characterized by an air-cored machine with its rotor iron and stator iron teeth removed. For this reason, the SRM is featured by 3D magnetic flux distribution, which decreases in the direction of axis. Therefore, 3D magnetic field analysis method is required to know about characteristic of magnetic field distribution of SRM. In this paper, 3D flux distribution of SRM is calculated by analytical method. The magnetic field distribution of the field coils is calculated by Biot-Savart equation. The magnetic core is represented by magnetic surface polarities. This paper describes the combined use of above methods for the total field computation, and compares results of analytical method and 3D FEM(Finite Element Method).

  • In this study, the behaviors of a cast-in-situ concrete pile embedded in the weathered rock were analysed by a 3D numerical analysis using PENTAGON 3D and the results were compared with those of the field load test. The load-settlement relation and the load transfer relationship were evaluated from the numerical analysis. As a result, the load-settlement relation at the pile top and the axial load distribution with depth were predicted reasonably. And those results were similar with those of the field load test.
