Recommended Practice for a Reasonable Design Demand Factor and Analysis of Power Consumption Characteristics by loads in Hospitals (병원용 건물의 부하종별 전력소비특성 분석 및 수용률 기준 정립에 관한 연구)

  • It is increased electrical energy consumption with the development of intelligence society in hospitals and thus an energy conservation through efficient use of electricity became more important. This paper shows a reasonable design demand factor in hospitals, that was made by the systematic and statistical way considering actual conditions, such as investigated electric equipment capacity, peak power consumption, demand factor, etc., for 32 hospitals and 9 electrical design offices. In this dissertation, it is necessary to analyze the key features and general trend from the investigated data. It made an analysis of the feature parameters, such as average, standard deviation, median, maximum, minimun and thus it was carried the linear and nonlinear regression analysis.

Characteristics of Hydrogen Generation from Methanol and Ethanol using Cylindrical Barrier Discharge (실린더형 무성방전을 이용하여 메탄올과 에탄올로부터 수소발생 특성)

  • Hydrogen is sustainable energy without environment pollution. In this study, experiments and analysis of hydrogen generation from gases methanol and ethanol using cylindrical barrier discharge reactor was carried out. The discharge reactor to generate hydrogen molecules used in this work is one type of Non-thermal Plasma (NTP) reactors and neon-transformer as power source to make a plasma was used. Hydrogen concentrations were measured as parameters of applied voltage, concentrations of methanol and ethanol, and flow rates of carrier gases($N_2$). Hydrogen generation increased according to applied voltage and produced largely in case of methanol compared with ethanol. It is thought that the reason is deeply related with those different chemical structures. Energy yield of hydrogen generation in case of ethanol decreases according to increasing applied voltage, but that in case of methanol has a peak at applied voltage of 22[kV] and decreased. Specifically, hydrogen generation increased with increasing applied voltage, but low voltage was better, which is the best parameter in the aspects of energy efficiency.

  • It is expected that distribution system, interconnected with wind turbines, would experience the voltage problem due to WT's output. But most papers just consider this problem using the simulation or the theory only. In this paper, we verify this problem through the measurement at the distribution system and wind turbine. We explain the method for voltage management at distribution system. And we verify that the voltage of D/L interconnected with WTs could not be maintained properly using pole transformer's tap only. We consider some method to solve this problem and we propose the installation of SVR(step voltage regulator). Finally we show this method's validity through the simulation.

  • Recently life and properties damage at Japan and China by generating earthquake. So earthquake generation trend and damage in the earthquake risk, and these are a growing interest in domestic. This paper analyzes domestic site and problems of earthquake measures for electrical facility at transformer vault which supply the power the emergence situation at generating earthquake. Also we present the seismic design of electrical facility using "Building construction design standard" in internal and "Manual of seismic design and construction for Building Electrical facility" in japan. This paper will be used detail seismic design of pipe and facility, reliability inspection plan for seismic design and construction of electrical facility.

  • The electric traction load is quite differ from general power system load which is single-phase, high-speed heavy load receiving power from 3-phase power system and also has variable load characteristics over time and space. Therefore, there are inevitably power quality problems such as steady state or transient voltage drop, voltage imbalance and harmonic distortion. In addition, it is expected that transient voltage sag could affect the safety of feeding system. Thus, in this paper transient analysis and voltage sag compensation of AT(Auto Transformer) feeding system are studied. The fault study of traction network is analysed by using PSCAD/SMTDC simulation tool. In addition, application of DVR in electric traction system is proposed to compensate the voltage sag of traction network which is occurred by the fault of utility source. The results of fault study will be a useful research works for operation and setting of electric traction relay. Also, it can be shown that application of the DVR in electric system is very useful to compensate the voltage sag from the result of related simulated work. The results of study will be a useful research works for management and planning of power quality in electric traction system.

  • These days, the advantages of DC power system are consistently stand out in korea that was a small power loss and high stability. Needs of DC power transmission technology is focused In the midst of a smart grid and environment friendly generation technology boom that is needed for next generation technology. Researches and businesses for HVDC(High Voltage Direct Current) system has been began. But, Needs of HVDC equipment and system commissioning technology are not on the rise until now. In particular, South Korea's HVDC technology is after the foot runner of advanced country and company. In addition, There is no experience for equipment verification and commissioning technology. And Experts of HVDC are rare. Who has been fully understood hardware and system as a whole, and identified all the equipment's characteristic. Recently, Academia and industry are recognized a needs of HVDC technology. But it does not received a recognition of technical value. In this paper, introduce issues when we apply the IEEE's verification method for HVDC system, especially DC current measurement system, DC CT(Direct Current Transformer), among the HVDC equipments. And Proposes remedial methods on the issue in order to recognize the necessity that was HVDC equipments's verification and commissioning technology research should be focused on.

  • A new high efficiency phase shifted full bridge (PSFB) converter for sustaining power module of plasma display panel (PDP) is proposed in this paper .The proposed converter employs the rectifier of voltage doubler type without output inductor. Since it has no output inductor, the voltage stresses of the secondary rectifier diodes can be clamped at the level of the output voltage. Therefore, no dissipative resistor-capacitor (RC) snubber for rectifier diodes is needed and a high efficiency as well as low noise cutout voltage can be realized. In addition, due to elimination of the large output inductor, it features a simple structure, lower cost, less mass, and lighter weight. Furthermore, the proposed converter has wide zero voltage switching (ZVS ) ranges with low current stresses of the primary switches. Also the resonance between the leakage inductor of the transformer and the capacitor of the voltage doubler cell makes the current stresses of the primary switches and rectifier diodes reduced. In this paper, the operational principles, analysis of the proposed converter, and the experimental results are presented.

  • This paper studies modeling of Jeju 80kV HVDC system and its controller by using PSCAD/EMTDC program. Reduced ac network is applied to verify interaction between ac network and dc system. Design parameter is applied to the converter transformer, harmonic filter and dc transmisstion line to simulate dc system. HVDC controller is divided into a rectifier controller and a inverter controller according to the converter operating mode. The inverter controller is composed of current control, voltage control and extingtion angle control. The rectifier controller is composed of current control and voltage control. Both controller has VDCOL characteristics so that current order is dependant on voltage variation. Step response, ac network single phase fault, three phase fault is simulated to verify the dynamic performance of controller model in both transient state and steady state.

  • A self oscillation DC/DC converter which has a very desirable characteristics of the high input-output voltage conversion ratio for high voltage DC power supply applications is proposed in this paper. The proposed converter is composed of one power switch, one inductor, several capacitors and diodes. Compared with conventional high-voltage DC/DC converters, it performs the high- voltage power conversion using the inductor instead of the bulky step-up transformer. Therefore, it can reduce the size of magnetic device and save the cost. Moreover, since it needs no control IC by using self oscillation circuit and has lower voltage stress on output diodes, it features a lower cost, simpler structure and more improved performance. Finally, a comparative analysis and experimental results are presented to show the validity of the proposed converter.

  • Recently, the use of DC power increased due to the increased use of digital load. Power factor of input current decrease and input current harmonics increase, and conversion loss which is occurred in the AC / DC converter is a problem to provide the proper DC voltage to the device equipped with an internal AC / DC converter. Hybrid system supplies the AC power and DC power to AC load (motor load and the transformer load) and DC loads (computers, TV, LED fluorescent light) at the same time it supplies the renewable energy and utility energy taken power from Utility to user for improving the efficiency and renewable energy improvements in ease of use. This paper studies DC characteristics of traditional AC load for Hybrid distributions.
