Elementary School Teachers' Perception and the Status of Education Program on Science Museum Field Trips (과학관 현장체험학습에 대한 초등 교사의 인식과 교육에 대한 실태 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary school teachers' perception and the status of education program on science museum field trips by using a questionnaire (188 teachers) and interview (6 teachers). The results of the research are as follows. First, factors influencing elementary school teachers who choose the science museum as a place for field trips were 'student's interest', 'teacher's own experience related to the science museum', 'science curriculum', 'suggestions from a fellow teacher', 'space available for field work' and so on. Second, 82% of the respondents conducted pre-education program, but they mainly conducted safety education. Third, the teacher conducted post-education program less than pre-education program. In the post-education program, the most activities were to express and share knowledge and experience gained from the science museum. Fourth, 52.2% of the teachers provided tasks or activity sheets during science museum field trips. Fifth, the teachers mainly served as safety guide. In addition, the teachers thought that safety guide was the most important role of teacher in science museum field trips. Sixth, the teachers thought that the method of viewing the science museum's collection, which emphasizes the role of docent rather than the teacher, was more educational.

A Study of 10th Grade Students' Perception about the Universe and its Affecting Factors (고등학교 1학년 학생들의 우주에 대한 인식 및 이에 영향을 준 요소에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, 10th grade students' views about the universe were surveyed and its affecting factors were investigated. Results showed that when hearing the word of 'the universe', 10th grade students considered it as 'a physical space'. Many students used 'feeling', or 'unknown space' to explain. When they portrayed the universe, many of them described it as a solar system scale. About the center and spatial limit of the universe, most students explained with the view of a heliocentric, geocentric or non-centered universe. Many students explained that the universe changed along with a direction as a physical space. These results were investigated again in different groups in terms of gender, beliefs, and familiarity with astronomy. As a result, students' models about the center, spatial limit, and the variation of the universe were different in the groups. Explanation of the origin of the universe was affected by the religious belief. Results showed that personal views of the universe are various, and many factors influence their views.

  • 한국산(韓國産) 목재(木材)의 해부학적성질(解剖學的性質)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)는 일정시수원고등농림학교(日政時水原高等農林學校)(현(現) 서울대학교(大學校)의 전신(前身)) 교수(敎授)인 일본인(日本人) 산림진씨(山林進氏)에 의(依)하여 이미 수백종(數百種)이 연구보고(硏究報告)된바 있다. 그러나 현재(現在)에는 도입(導入)된 외래수종(外來樹種)이 많고 또 이들 외래수종(外來樹種)으로 부터 생산(生産)되는 국산재(國産材)가 점차(漸次) 경제적(經濟的)으로 중요성(重要性)을 가증(加增)함에 따라 이들 목재(木材)에 관(關)한 기초적(基礎的)인 성질연구(性質硏究)가 시급(時急)하다고 생각(生覺)한다. 그러므로 이 시험(試驗)에서는 한국산외래수종(韓國産外來樹種)의 목재성질(木材性質)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)의 일부분(一部分)으로 수십년전(數十年前)에 도입(導入)되어 비교적(比較的) 중요(重要)하다고 인정(認定)되는 일본원산(日本原産) 외래수종(外來樹種)의 목재(木材)에 관(關)한 현미경적성질(顯微鏡的性質)을 조사(調査)하여 보고(報告)하고져 한다. 이 시험(試驗)에서 사용(使用)된 공시재(供試材)는 경기도(京畿道) 수원(水原) 연습림(演習林)과 전라남도(全羅南道) 광양연습림(光陽演習林)에 생장(生長)하고 있는 35~48년생(年生)의 소나무, 곰솔, 일본잎갈나무, 일본젓나무, 편백, 삼나무, 및 일본목련 등 7개(個) 수종(樹種)에서 건전(健全)한 15개체(個體)가 선정시험(選定試驗)되었으며 결과(結果)는 중요(重要)한것들만 수종별(樹種別)로 종합(綜合)되었고 원문(原文)과 같이 간략(簡略)하게 기재(記載)되었다.

  • The disaster and safety R&D budget has continued to increase since 2008, but the fire safety R&D budget is a small part. Therefore, successful outcomes that could lead to the economic growth of the fire safety industry have not been achieved. This paper suggests a fire safety R&D budget expansion, reinforcement of R&D capacity, and performance growing plan by analyzing the factors that affect the performance of a fire safety R&D project. Empirical analysis was performed through one-way ANOVA and regression analysis using the statistical program, SPSS statistics 21.0. As a result, this study suggests that the continuous expansion of R&D funds and the securing of excellent trained research manpower will be necessary to obtain qualitatively superior patents and papers.

Dynamic Slot Allocation Scheme in Tactical Multi-hop Networks for Future Soldier Systems (개인전투체계 다중홉 네트워크를 위한 동적 시간슬롯 할당 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic slot allocation scheme to improve the slot utilization rate in tactical multi-hop networks in which the channel condition varies due to node movements. The proposed scheme takes advantage of the fact that nodes that are more than three hops apart can use the same slot simultaneously. The frame is divided into two parts: the control period and the data period. To know the available slot information within two-hop distance, the node exchanges a slot allocation information with one-hop neighbors during the control period. The node can get the information on idle slots that are not used within two-hop distance but assigned already to other nodes that are more than three-hop away. The identified idle slot can be used by the node, which increases the slot utilization rate. The performance analysis results of the proposed scheme show that it increases the slot utilization rate sufficiently despite the overhead of the control period in the multi-hop networks of the future soldier system.

The Longitudinal Study on Academic Achievement of Mathematic and Scientific Subject (수학·과학 학업성취도 결정요인 종단연구)

  • This study analyzes the factors influencing academic achievement on mathematic and scientific subject and its change in Korean youth by using a sample from KYPS(Korea Youth Panel Survey) data. The results are as follows: First, academic achievement on mathematic and scientific subject of Korean youth shows quadratic curve that their interrelationship between intercept and slope of academic achievement are negative which is statistically significant. Second, analysis of Latent Growth Models shows that parents, teacher, peer group, self esteem, income of family, high school tracks are found to be a statistically significant factor on mathematic. And scientific subject is affected by parents, teacher, peer group, self esteem, income of family, high school tracks. Also, Interesting finding is that father's job is not significant to dependent variables. These findings show that academic achievement on mathematic and scientific subject of the Korean youth are the quadratic curve and influenced by parents, teacher, peer group, self esteem, income of family, high school tracks. To improve youth's mathematic and scientific, Korea educational fields and educators should have policy to care youth's relationship with parents, teachers and self esteem.

Occupational Outlooks of Senior High School Female Students (일반계와 실업계 고등학교 여학생의 직업관 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in individuals and family characteristics between general and vocational high school female students, and the impacts of the characteristics on the their occupational outlook. The number of 792 female students in 4 general and 5 vocational high schools in Chongju area were sampled during September 6-10, 1993. There are more differences in family characteristics rather than individual characteristics between two types of high school female students. Both family and individual characteristics influence the occupational outlooks of the respondents. Therefore, the types of school affect their occupational outlooks. Over 50% of vocational students want to have a junior college education.

델파이기법을 활용한 부모의 인식전환을 위한 기업가정신 역량 도출

  • 4차 산업혁명 시대에 접어 들어 불확실성이 높아지고 변동성의 상시화로 세계 경제가 급변하면서, 기업가정신 교육의 중요성은 점점 더 높아지고 있다. 이러한 시대의 흐름에 따라 최근 청소년 기업가정신 교육이 확산되었다. 지속가능한 청소년 기업가정신 교육이 이루어지기 위해서는 시대의 변화와 함께 부모들의 인식과 태도도 함께 변화해야 한다. 부모는 새로운 지식과 그 시대가 요구하는 바람직한 자녀관을 형성해야 하며, 사회 전반적인 변화에 따른 학교에서의 기업가정신 교육이 가정에서도 일관성 있게 유지되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 부모교육의 중요성을 확인하고, 교육을 통해 부모의 인식을 변화시키기 위해 필요한 역량 도출하기 위해 델파이 조사를 실시하였다. 기업가정신 교육 전문가와 청소년 교육 전문가로 구성된 전문가 패널들을 대상으로 3회에 걸쳐 델파이 조사를 실시하였다. 델파이 조사 분석 결과, 부모 인식 전환을 위해 필요한 최종 8가지 역량(환경의 변화, 도전정신, 주체성/자울성, 창업에 대한 이해, 직업의 다양성, 기업가정신에 대한 이해, 개인의 다양성, 팀/협업에 대한 가치)을 도출하였다. 향후 후속 연구를 통해 도출된 역량을 함양할 수 있는 부모 기업가정신 교육 모델 및 프로그램을 설계하고자 한다.

A Study on Military Symbology Standardization for Cyber Operations (사이버 작전 군대부호 표준화에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose military symbols for cyber operations to understand the situation in cyberspace intuitively. Currently, standardized military symbols are mainly for kinetic operations, and they do not consider cyber operations. Although, MIL-STD-2525D includes some symbols for cyber operations, only icons that are composed of three letters are standardized. So there is a limit to effectively expressing cyber operations. That is why we propose military symbols for cyber operations compatible with existing military symbol building rules. In addition to merely presenting the symbols, we present examples of expressing various cyber situations using the proposed symbols. It proves the usefulness of the proposed symbol. The small number of symbols proposed in this paper will not be able to represent all cyber situations. However, based on the proposed symbols, it is expected that more symbols will be standardized in the future to more clearly express the cyber situation.

Curriculum and Characterization Subjects Development for Department of IT convergence Based Army Contract (군계약 IT융복합학과를 위한 특성화 교과목 및 교육과정 개발)

  • This study proposed an IT convergence curriculum for educating the Non-Commissioned Officers. This program was produced by the comprehensive reference to the curriculums of military academies and systematic and rational modelling. The key features of the proposed curriculum are to consolidate the following three areas to meet the needs of the NCO, a recipient of the education. First, IT related subjects were posed as a mainstay of the curriculum that is critical for the scientific and information advancement of the forces. Second, the military leadership courses were included in the effective management of the soldiers. Third, military counseling certificate courses were included, a ground breaking trial nationally. In addition to this, we presented a characterized courses that focus on hands-on skills and knowledge for performing the duties of the NCO.
