  • The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze elementary school teachers' perceptions of the use of artificial intelligence in education. Recently, interest in the use of artificial intelligence has increased in the field of education. However, there is a lack of research on the perceptions of elementary school teachers using AI in education. Using descriptive statistics, multiple linear regression analysis, and semantic differential meaning scale, 69 elementary school teachers' perceptions of using AI in education were analyzed. As a results, artificial intelligence technology was perceived as most suitable method for assisting activities in class and for problem-based learning. Factors which influence the use of AI in education were learning contents, learning materials, and AI tools. AI in education had the features of personalized learning, promoting students' participation, and provoking students' interest. Further, instructional strategies or models that enable optimized educational operation should be developed.

  • This study was to investigate what pre-service teachers pay attention to when designing science lessons. As a result of analyzing the responses of pre-service teachers, it is analyzed that pre-service teachers are designing science lessons with emphasis on science inquiry, considering students' interest, level, and treatment of misconceptions, and closely related to daily life. In particular, it was found that elementary school pre-service teachers made a lot of comments on science class design that emphasizes experimentation and inquiry, so it was found that emphasizing inquiry was recognized as an important point in science lesson design. It is very positive that pre-service teachers recognize important aspects of science education, such as emphasizing inquiry. In addition, it is suggested that the opportunities for class design and demonstration through collaboration with teachers and colleagues should be increased for pre-service teachers' professional development of teachers.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the current status of elementary pre-service teachers' concern on SW education using the Concern-Based Adoption Model, and to investigate issues to be considered in pre-service teacher education. The participants were 137 senior students enrolled in a university of education. A survey was conducted using the Stages of Concerns Questionnaire(SoCQ). Elementary pre-service teachers' concern on SW education was turned out to be the highest at the awareness stage, and the lowest at the consequence stage, and thus showed the 'nonuser' pattern. It also showed a 'positive nonuser' pattern by indicating a little more concern at the collaboration and refocusing stages than the consequence stage concerning the impact of SW education. In addition, no significant difference was found according to pre-service teachers' gender. In comparison with that, significant differences were found according to their programming level at the awareness, personal, consequence and collaboration stages. Based on the results of the research, suggestions were made for the improvement of the pre-service teachers' SW education program concerning the presentation of related information and the enhancement of programming capabilities.

  • Curricular noticing is about how teachers understand the content and pedagogical opportunities inherent in curriculum materials. Since the enacted curriculum differs depending on which aspect of the curriculum material is paid attention to and how to interpret it, it is necessary to focus on Curricular Attending and Curricular Interpreting in Curricular Noticing for enhancing the teaching expertise of preservice teachers. First, this study categorized the objects that preservice elementary mathematics teachers attended when planning the lesson for rate. Second, in order to find out the reason for paying attention to those objects, it was analyzed what factors were related to interpret. By discussing the results, implications were drawn on how to use Curricular Noticing in preservice teacher education to enhance the pedagogical design competency of preservice elementary mathematics teachers.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand what orientations elementary school teachers have related to their science classes, what realities they encounter in real classes, how they overcome their frustrations and failures they experience. We employed a narrative inquiry method and analyzed the experiences of two early career elementary school teachers (Miss Park and Mr. Choi). Miss Park wanted to conduct students-driven inquiry classes, in which students become active investigators, but in reality, she faced herself who conducted teacher-driven classes. Mr. Choi wanted to conduct science classes based on constructivism, but in reality, he encountered himself as a knowledge giver rather than scaffolder. However, rather than giving up their orientations, the two teachers tried to keep them in their own way. It was expected that by understanding what strategies beginner teachers take when their theoretical orientation and ideals are not well implemented in actual educational reality, we could find a clue that will lead to a more successful transition from pre-service teacher to teacher.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a teaching mathematics anxiety scale for elementary teachers in South Korea. The sample consisted of 150 elementary teachers in 22 elementary schools in Seoul. A total of 21 items were developed and examined for the internal consistence. The results showed that the proposed scale was appropriate to represent the teaching mathematics anxiety of elementary teachers.

  • In this study, I hoped to reveal the understanding of pre-service elementary teachers about proportional reasoning and the traits of proportional reasoning strategy used by pre-service elementary teachers. The results of this study are as follows. Pre-service elementary teachers should deal with various proportional reasoning tasks and make a conscious effort to analyze proportional reasoning task and investigate various proportional reasoning strategies through teacher education program. It is necessary that pre-service elementary teachers supplement the lacking tasks such as qualitative reasoning and distinction between proportional situation and non-proportional situation. Finally, It is suggested to preform the future research on teachers' errors and mis-conceptions of proportional reasoning.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the changes in the science teaching professionalism self-perception of pre-service elementary teacher as shown in science education lesson course. The subjects of this study were 25 pre-service elementary teachers enrolled in the second year at G National university of education. And the scale of this study were derived and applied by modifying and supplementing the scale of previous studies. The results of this study are as follows: it was found that science teaching professionalism and self-perception of pre-service elementary teachers are improving. In short, it was found that there are significant changes in all sub-domains such as professionalism development efforts, educational contents, instructional method, educational environment and atmosphere, assessment and science teaching preference. As a result of examining the related contents in detail along with the combustion-related science lesson plan, Padlet, and post-test descriptive question responses, there were some good categories and some categories that needed to be supplemented. Based on these results, a plan for enhancing the science teaching professionalism of pre-service elementary teacher needs to be considered.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences and attitudes of elementary pre-service teachers, the level of entrepreneurship core competencies, and to analyze differences in entrepreneurship core competencies by grade, gender, and attitude. To this end, 208 elementary pre-service teachers who responded to the online questionnaire surveyed their experience, attitudes, perceptions, entrepreneurship attempts, and entrepreneurship core competency levels. As a result, pre-service teachers had a low level of understanding and direct participation in entrepreneurship education, the need for entrepreneurship education for elementary school students and teachers was high. The average of the value-creation competency group consisting of innovation, social value orientation, and change agility was relatively lower than the challenge, group creativity, and self-directed competency group. The difference of the entrepreneurship core competency level between the grades was not significant, and female students' competency levels were statistically significantly higher than male students. In addition, the average of the four core competencies of entrepreneurship in the group that recognizes the importance of entrepreneurship as essential competencies was statistically higher than that of their counterparts. Based on the results of this study, the implications for the design and development of a program for enhancing entrepreneurship competency for elementary school pre-service teachers were presented.

  • This study aims to find out the feasibility and effectiveness of mathematical games as a way to provide primary pre-service teachers with doing mathematics. The game had induced the active participation of elementary pre-service teachers. Through transforming the game, the teachers have been able to experience of mathematical problem posing and generating mathematical representation. Based on this, we discuss the role of mathematical games as a method of pre-service teacher education.
