Exploring the Meaning of Democratic Citizenship Education Revealed in the General Discussion of the 2022 Revised Curriculum (개정 교육과정 총론(2022)에 드러난 민주 시민 교육 의미 탐색)

  • The Ministry of Education announced the main points of the 2022 revised curriculum on November 24, 2021. Democratic citizenship education to foster citizenship appears as one of the detailed tasks among the key tasks of the 2022 revised curriculum. We are promoting democratic citizenship education to foster citizenship. Therefore, what does democratic citizenship education specifically mean and what does it consist of? There is a need to look into what methods this should be used for. The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of democratic citizenship education revealed in the 2022 revised curriculum. The contents of democratic citizenship education for the cultivation of citizenship revealed in the general discussion of the 2022 revised curriculum are analyzed as follows. First, it means education related to democracy and social issues. The specific contents of democracy and social issues are ① peace, ② human rights, ③ gender equality, and ④ cultural diversity. Second, critical thinking education. Third, media literacy education is necessary because democratic citizenship education must respond appropriately to the times in line with social changes such as the emergence of Chat GPT. Fourth, while emphasizing democratic decision-making education, it includes social empathy and communication education. Fifth, it contains local and national community participation and practical education as a method for citizen participation and practice. As described above, democratic citizenship education was specified in the general introduction of the 2022 revised curriculum. In order to carry out such democratic citizenship education systematically, it is necessary to establish the principles of democratic citizenship education.

A Study on the Adolescent Sibling Relationship through Photovoice (포토보이스를 통해 본 청소년기 형제자매관계에 관한 연구)

  • This study employs photovoice research methodology to investigate adolescents' experiences in sibling relationships and to analyze the impact of sibling interactions on their development and growth. The participants comprised eight high school students with one sibling (four males and four females) residing in the Incheon region. The research process encompassed several stages: participant recruitment, orientation, photovoice activity (focus group interviews), data analysis, and conclusion derivation. During the photovoice activity, participants engaged in a narrative process of photographing, interpreting, and discussing their experiences. The narratives were categorized into four primary themes: structure and environment, emotional interactions, roles, and parental subsystems. The conclusions drawn from the study are as follows: First, the similarity formed in sibling relationships during adolescence contributes to psychological stability. Second, roles and expectations based on birth order can cause stress for adolescents, indicating the need for equitable role adjustments within the family. Third, conflict in sibling relationships is crucial for enhancing problem-solving and social relationship skills. Lastly, consistent parenting attitudes significantly affect the emotional well-being of siblings. This study emphasizes the significance of fostering a deeper understanding of human development and family relationships through an exploration of adolescent sibling dynamics within home economics education.

The Impact of the Manufacturing AI Introduction Environment on Technology Trust and Intention to Utilize: Focusing on the TOE Framework (제조AI 도입환경이 기술신뢰와 활용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: TOE 프레임워크를 중심으로)

  • This study empirically analyzed the factors affecting the intention to utilize manufacturing AI in SM-sized manufacturers by applying the TOE framework. Independent variables that are expected to influence were applied, focusing on TOE factors and managerial characteristics that reflect the characteristics of SME manufacturers. In addition, the mediating effect of technology trust and the moderating effect of factory location were analyzed. The results are as follows. First, the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable was tested, and the direct effects of the independent variables(complexity, organizational innovation, IT ability, competitive pressure, partner support, and managerial innovation) on the dependent variable were all statistically significant, except for compatibility. Second, the mediation effect of technology trustness was verified to have a full mediation effect between compatibility and utilization intention, and a partial mediation effect between managerial innovation and utilization intention. Third, among the seven independent variables, the moderating effect of factory location(metropolitan and non-metro) between the three independent variables of IT ability, competitive pressure, and partner support and the utilization intention was found to be significant. To increase the intention to utilize manufacturing AI for SM-sized manufacturers, it is recommended that more diverse and broader studies are needed, not only the factors identified in this study, but also the understanding and awareness of manufacturing AI.

A Study on the Digital Transformation Analysis of Infrastructure (인프라 측면 디지털 전환 분석 연구)

  • This study aims to collect and systematize indicators for each stage of digital transformation at the infrastructure level to accurately diagnose the current status of digital transformation in Korea and to serve as a reference for establishing a balanced digital strategy. In order to establish a framework for digital transformation of infrastructure, 19 indicators in three categories(tangible/intangible, data) were identified across three stages of digital transformation: computerization, digitization, and digital transformation, and 19 indicators in three categories were identified to study the changes in digital infrastructure. The main findings are: First, the digital transformation of infrastructure is at a high level, moving from digitization to digital transformation. Second, the scope of digital transformation policies is expanding as digital transformation is triggered, and additional policies on inclusion and social disparities should be prepared. It is also important to improve the regulatory environment, which is relatively undervalued. Third, as data becomes more important, it is important to develop indicators and measurements to strengthen digital competitiveness in terms of data infrastructure. This study is an exploratory study of the existing indicators, which can be used to conduct specialized research on the differences in the level of digital transformation by industry, sector, company size, age, gender, region, and group, and to study indicators for the expansion of digital transformation to social and industrial sectors. The expected effect is to deepen the process of understanding the interaction between each indicator, so that future digital transformation policies can be organized and promoted, and policy outcomes can be predicted and responded to in advance.

  • The need for cultural diversity education is increasing due to the increase in awareness and importance of cultural diversity education in the current education field in the era of globalization. The purpose of this study is to apply knowledge, understanding, attitude and ability to perform cultural diversity education to storytelling for teachers who are responsible for cultural diversity education in Shandong Y middle school in China by applying in - depth interview method I tried to understand their experiences and the actual situation of the school scene and tried to suggest the direction of correct cultural diversity education. As a result, we conducted a systematic study on cultural diversity in terms of academic competency, and an abstract attitude that accommodates cultural diversity in reflective instruction, and a cultural diversity in practical teaching ability. Therefore, the cultural diversity education of middle school teachers are well understood or the attitudes toward the cultural diversity education and such perception are free from diverse work areas, teaching experience, and cultural diversity education. In addition, the degree of implementation of culture diversity education was relatively lower than the level of awareness. And although many teachers provide culture diversity education on the site, they usually provide cultural diversity education in schools with learning activities presented by the curriculum guidelines. In this paper, we describe the limitations and discuss the improvement method.

The Effect of Oral Health Behavior by Oral Health Belief of Student in Dental Hygiene Department of College Students in Seoul (서울지역 일부대학 치위생과 학생의 구강건강신념이 구강보건행태에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of oral health behavior by oral health belief from the students in the dental hygienics department who take charge of oral health office, and therefore to lead a clear oral health care, to complete desirable oral health belief, and finally to utilize them for oral health field. The survey was conducted using structured self-administered questionnaires based on oral health belief model targeting 163 students in the dental hygienics department of one of the college in Seoul, and collected data were statistically analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 program. As a result of analysis to determine that the oral health belief significantly affects on the oral heal behavior, the personal variables such as age, economic status and occupation, and the seriousness for the oral health belief were indicated to be significant variables(p<0.05), and as a result of analysis that effects on the number of the oral health behavior, the susceptibility and the seriousness were indicated to be significant variables for oral health belief(P<0.05). As a conclusion, oral health belief was identified as a factor of salience through understanding that oral health belief of the students in the dental hygienics department effects on oral health behavior based on an oral health belief model, and it can be concluded that the necessity of oral health belief investigation should be discussed as a crucial issue to provide a more effective oral health promotion plan.

  • This study is to understand sure the primary crime prevention has been incidence as a social problem intended for parents through the analysis of the Crime Prevention Design (CPTED) CPTED element of recognize elements that target crime prevention strategy to effectively help students be and an object of the present invention is to provide a policy suggestion haryeoneunde proposed basic data required for orientation. To achieve the study objectives such as the core framework in this study IPA: Importance-Performance Analysis) also was selected. Subjects of study in 2010 Gyeongju Elementary parents name and were 203 first research group investigating the secondary school population of the region in 2014 to nomadic parents of 297 people sampled selection. Questionnaire that use by this study applies "Important-Performance Analysis : IPA" technique that Martilla & James(1977) presented and analyzed awareness for CPTED elements of strategy for student's crime prevention to elementary school pupil students' parentse. It was the first group, 0.886, 0.920, 0.895 and 2nd group 0.880, 0.906, 0.878 that reliability of (Cronbach' s ${\alpha}$) the importance, and believability of run chart was the first group, 0.880, 0.917, 0.878 and 2nd group, 0.735, 0.840, 0.830.   • Sustainability science is an emerging transdisciplinary research which necessitates not only the communication and collaboration of scientists, practitioners and stakeholders from different disciplines and interests, but also the paradigm shift from deterministic and reductionist approaches to the old basic. Ecological-societal systems (ESS) are co-evolving complex systems having many interacting parts (or agents) whose random interactions at local scale give rise to spontaneous emerging order at global scale (i.e., self-organization). Here, the flows of energy, matter and information between the systems and their surroundings play a key role. We introduce a conceptual framework for such continually morphing dynamical systems, i.e. self-organizing hierarchical open systems (SOHOs). To understand the structure and functionality of SOHOs, we revisit the two fundamental laws of physics. Re-interpretation of these principles helps understand the destiny and better path toward sustainability, and how to reconcile ecosystem integrity with societal vision and value. We then integrate the so-called visioneering (V) framework with that of SOHOs as feedback/feedforward loops so that 'a nudged self-organization' may guide systems' agents to work together toward sustainable ESS. Finally, example is given with newly endorsed Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Lab (i.e., 'Rural systems visioneering') by Future Earth, which is now underway in rural villages in Tanzania.

Exploration of the Status of Course Completion and Ways to Raise Selection Rates of General Elective Courses in the 2015 Revised Science Curriculum (2015 개정 과학과 일반선택과목의 수강 현황 및 선택률 제고 방안 탐색)

  • The purpose of this research is to draw suggestions on the settling of the 2015 revised curriculum and the direction of science curriculum improvement by identifying the current status of science general elective courses for high school sophomores, and examining teachers' perception. To this end, with 12 city and provincial education offices' cooperation, we analyzed the status of science elective subjects that freshmen took in 2018 by school year, school type and region. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with nine science teachers of the focus group to discuss ways to improve curriculum operation and implementation of science general elective courses, and ways to raise the selection rate. The number of science general elective courses for high school students in 12 municipal and provincial education offices was confirmed to be 163,710 for Physics I, 216,754 for Chemistry I, 290,736 for Bioscience I, and 200,861 for Earth Science I. By school type, autonomous high schools have the highest completion rate, while specialized schools and vocational schools have very low rates. Units completed per semester for general elective courses were mostly three units (61.5%) and two units (28.7%). High school science teachers suggested reconstruction of three-unit elective courses that can be completed in one semester, content development focused on competences rather than knowledge, and the need for a teacher community to improve teachers' teaching competences. Based on the results of the research, ways to operate high school science elective curriculum in preparation for the high school credit system were suggested.

A Study on Estimation of Biomass, Stem Density and Biomass Expansion Factor for Stand Age Classes of Japanese Larch (Larix leptolepis) Stands in Gapyeong Area (가평지역 낙엽송림의 바이오매스와 영급별 줄기 밀도 및 바이오매스 확장계수 추정 연구)

  • This study was conducted to develope allometric equations and to estimate biomass, stem density, and biomass expansion factor for the three stand age classes (I-II, III-IV, and V-VI) of Japanese larch (Larix leptolepis) in Gapyeong area. Total dry weight (kg/tree) and aboveground biomass (ton/ha) were 57.8 and 71.1 for I-II class, 185.4 and 195.6 for III-IV class, and 1047.9 and 180.6 for V-VI class, respectively. Total above and belowground biomass (ton/ha) was 96.3 for I-II class, 265.7 for III-IV class, and 244.5 for V-VI class. The proportion (%) of stem to total biomass increased with stand age class and was 53.9 for I-II class, 55.7 for III-IV class, and 57.7 for V-VI class, respectively, while that of foliage decreased and was 7.1 for I-II class, 4.5 for III-IV class, 2.3 for V-VI class. Ratios of root to aboveground biomass were 0.35 for all age classes. Stem density ($g/cm^3$) differed between I-II class and III-VI class. Aboveground and total biomass expansion factors were 1.31-1.44 and 1.26-1.94. Our results showed that differences in stand density with stand age classes might influence allometric equation, stem density and ratios of aboveground biomass to stem biomass and total biomass to stem biomass (biomass expansion factors).
