  • In child care teacher aptitude, it is identified that there is difference between male and female in sociability for the infants, but it shows that there is no difference in other field and implies that compared with gender of child care teacher, desire and qualification are more important for child care teaching. In addition,, in child care teacher aptitude, it is identified that as variable, commitment for duty expressively explicates child care teacher's professional perception, and the following things are shown as the variables to meaningfully explain the child care efficacy : creativity, self-improvement, sociability for infants, receptiveness, sensitiveness and safety management capacity significantly. Finally, it is turned out that creativity and self-improvement as main variable, expressively explains multicultural teaching efficacy. • This study is the quasi-experimental research of nonequivalent groups and is designed to investigate the effects of an aquatic exercise program with diabetes self management education on the self care efficacy, self care behaviors in diabetic patients in community. The subjects of this study were 26 patients in the experimental group who participated in the aquatic exercise program and 25 patients in the control group who did not paricipated in. And they were registered at the W Health Clinic in D city. The aquatic exercise program was conducted twice a week for 80 minutes, and consisted of a 30 minutes diabetes self management education and a 50 minutes aquatic exercise. After this program, there were significant differences in FBS(p=.047), HbA1c(p<.001), diabetes self efficacy(p<.001), and self care behaviors(p<.001). In order to reduce the prevalence of diabetes and prevent complications in the community, it is believed that the constant operation of aquatic exercise programs including self management education is necessary.

  • This article examines factors that influence health and quality of life. In addition to the symptomatology and physiological functioning, the influence of the psychological functioning and interpersonal relationship on the overall health and quality of life are also investigated. Using a case-study approach, a total of 70 patients suffering from allergy or asthma were interviewed using a semi-structured questionnaire developed by the present authors. It assessed the following six areas: Cause and onset of illness, psychological functioning, health management, trust, social support received and overall health and quality of life. Based on the transactional model (Bandura, 1997; Kim & Park, 2005), the results of the case studies have been integrated and divided into three aspects: (1) Cause and onset of illness that includes physiological and environment factors; (2) mediating influences that includes psychological functioning, health management, interpersonal relationship and social support received; and (3) outcome factor that includes symptomatology, health and quality of life. The psychological functioning includes self-efficacy (self-regulated efficacy, efficacy for enlisting social support, efficacy for managing the environment, and efficacy for overcoming difficulties), positive outlook, life goals, experience of stress, and proxy control. Interpersonal relationship includes trust of family members and the physician. Health management includes receiving proper health assessment, following the advice and prescription given by the physicians, control of the environment and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The results indicate that physiological, psychological, relational and environment factors interact with each other and affect individual's overall health and quality of life. Self-efficacy, social support received from family members, trust of physicians, and the health care system are key factors promoting healthy lifestyle and quality of life. The results indicate the need for further interdisciplinary, indigenous and cultural psychological research.

  • This study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design to develop an information provision program for arteriovenous fistula and angioplasty patients and to examine the effects of the information provision program offered by operating room nurses. The research subjects were selected trough convenience sampling who had come to hospitals to have an arteriovenous fistula and angioplasty surgery, and an experimental group and a control group of 40 persons. The information provision program consisted of two sessions, each conducted on the day of surgery and after surgery. The content included surgery information, pain management after surgery, management of dialysis blood vessels, how to handle emergency, and management of complications. The results of the study showed that the experimental group, which was offered an information provision program by nurses, a decrease in trait and state anxiety and an increase in self-efficacy on a statistically significant level. In conclusion, the information provision program provided by operating room nurses helped to reduce anxiety in arteriovenous fistula and angioplasty patients and increase their self-efficacy. This will improve end-stage renal disease patients' self-management ability after surgery, and thus, contribute to improving the prevention of complications and the level of self-nursing care.

  • This study was conducted to analyze the effects of person-environment fit on the job performance in the National Assembly legislative support organization. Job performance was classified into task performance, contextual performance, and adaptive performance. Impacts of each factors on the job performance were identified through structural equation model. From the results of analysis, it was confirmed that supplementary fit of officials of legislative support organization of the National Assembly had a positive effect on task performance, contextual performance, and adaptive performance. However, complementary-fit does not directly affect task performance, contextual performance, and adaptive performance. Rather complementary-fit affects job performance by the mediating role of variable self-efficacy. The implications of this study confirm that it is important to match between organization members and jobs in order to improve the job performance of civil servants in the legislative support organization. The necessity of introducing self-efficacy enhancement program into the education and training process of the legislative support organization was proposed.

  • This paper verified the relationship between the emotional labor and the job satisfaction of workers in senior employment agencies. And this paper verified the mediating effect of self-efficacy between the both variables. We conducted a survey of 261 employees of the 21 agencies in Daejeon and Chungcheong area. According to the analysis : 1) employees' emotional labor influenced job satisfaction negatively. 2) the self-efficacy mediated between emotional labor and job satisfaction. As a result, we need to establish a management system for emotional labor, to carry out a crisis intervention of prompt therapy, and to provide education to cope with emotional labor for decreasing the emotional labor. It is important to lower the proportion of irregular workers, to improve the level of treatment, and cultivate self-leadership for promoting self-efficacy.
