  • This study was conducted to investigate experiences, convergent responses and expected negative impacts of verbal abuse of 253 paramedic students when they were doing clinical training practice. The results were as follows. First, 34%(86 people) experienced verbal abuse, the most frequently verbal abuse was done by Patients and Patient's family. Second, the most frequently contents of verbal abuse by Patient and Patient's family, Paramedic, Doctor and Nurse was 'Talking down or rude talk to me'. Third, the most frequently emotional responses of the students was 'Angry' and coping was 'Tolerate'. Fourth, the most frequently expected negative impacts was 'Practice productivity will be compromised'. Fifth, when experiencing verbal abuse by Paramedic was correlated with emotional responses(r=.458 p=.000), emotional responses was correlated with stress and expected negative impacts(r=.553 p=.000, r=.540 p=.000). In conclusion, it will be necessary to provide preventive education on verbal abuse before clinical training practice and to take active measures that have been protocolized.

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the degree of verbal abuse, emotional response, nursing professionalism, clinical practice stress during clinical practicim of nursing students. Methods: A sample of convenience was 106 nursing students, and a questionnaire was used to measure their verbal abuse, emotional response, nursing professionalism, clinical practice stress. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple linear regression. Results: A significant positive correlation was found among verbal abuse, emotional response, clinical practice stress(r=.683, r=.573). Grade of which the participant was in, verbal abuse(𝛽=.487), emotional response(𝛽=.240) were significant predictive variables of which accounted for 49% of the variance in clinical practice stress. Conclusions: The results from this study can provide basic data on the development of strategies for nursing college students to cope with verbal abuse and to manage stress under clinical practice

  • This study is a descriptive study to investigate the relationship between verbal violence type, emotional response and coping in the operating room nurse. The subjects of the study were 400 nurses working in 20 general hospitals and 372 nurses in the operating room. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the perpetrators of the verbal violence experienced by the subject were physicians, direct supervisors, and more than half of the subjects were considering the transition. The most frequent cases of language violence were when the equipment was inoperable or not used during surgery, There were significant differences in verbal violence experience according to marriage, clinical career, and work style. Language violence emotional response showed significant difference with gender, position and coping, age, academic background, clinical career, and position. There was a significant correlation between experience of verbal violence and emotional response, emotional response and coping. Therefore, the results of this study will contribute to the development of coping strategies and prevention education programs.

  • The purpose of this study is to collect the psychological responses that occur while watching TV home shopping ads in verbal form, and explore the possibility of measuring the effectiveness of TV home shopping ads using linguistic analysis. The psychological responses during watching positive and negative ads of participants(40 housewives and female college students) were collected in a linguistic form using a think aloud and self-report measurement. It was analyzed by KLIWC, a Korean language analysis program. As a result of the analysis, there was a difference in psychosocial variables as well as linguistic variables between positive and negative evaluation ads. Also, various variables of KLIWC were correlated with the variables of advertising effectiveness (purchase stimulus, ad attitude, product attitude, purchase intention) and advertising response variables. This suggests the possibility of constructing a psychological response profile and measurement of advertising effectiveness using language analysis.

  • This study aims at reviewing the effect of the non-verbal communication of salespersons at service encounter on customers' non-verbal communication and responses. The previous studies overlooked the correlation between salespersons' non-verbal communication and customers' non-verbal communication at service encounter, although non-verbal communication of salespersons has potentialities evoking customers' non-verbal communication and emotional responses in various ways. If it is a salesperson who a customer first encounters within a shop, the non-verbal communication of salesperson affects his/her non-verbal communication and these non-verbal communication affect his/her emotional responses, and these emotional responses affect his/her behavior. This phenomenon is based on the theory of emotional contagion, mimic, and face feedback. Therefore the non-verbal communication such as greetings, postures and eye-contact manners through the personal interactions between salespersons and customers, can be said to be an antecedent variable which affects the positive responses of customer. As a result of the study, the kinesic of salesperson's non-verbal communication was found to affect customers' non-verbal communication, and customers' non-verbal communication affect emotional responses experienced at service encounter, and customers' positive emotion affect customers' behavior responses. This result provides an opportunity which makes one turn eyes on salespersons' non-verbal communication at sales encounter both practically and scientifically, through introducing salespersons' non-verbal communication as an important factor which can enhance customers' positive responses but has been passed over by the previous studies.

  • Objective of this study is to be utilized as foundational data of expression methods and to increase children's dream and imagination by researching and analyzing differences of imaginative reaction from patterns of imaginative activities and verbal response for the expressive methods of illustrations. Study subjects are 253 children aged from six to seven years old, and four different types of research tool of which are screens with simple pattern, realistic pattern, omitted pattern and indirect pattern has been used in the empirical survey conducted over two times. Result from provided research tools has shown that difference of diversity can be observed from patterns of imaginative activities and verbal reaction patterns. Especially, in terms of imaginative activities, structural and creative imagination responses can be observed from screens with simple, omitted patterns and indirect and metaphorical patterns compares to screens with simple patterns and direct, realistic patterns, and positive affection to children's dream and creativity and imagination can be found from the result of high imaginative response observed from patterns of verbal reaction.
