The purpose of this study was to compare the stress from nursing care between nurses in cancer unit and nurses in the general unit. A total 114 of nurses were recruited from a general hospital. The job stress level of the nurses and the somatic symptoms level of the nurses working in cancer unit was significantly higher than the level of the nurses working in general unit. It is important to eusure the methods that contrive to perform care efficiently by generating hospice nurses.
This study examined longitudinal mediated effects of informal labeling on the relationship between adolescent abuse and academic achievement using autoregressive cross-lagged modeling. Data were obtained from the second, third, and fourth waves of the middle school student cohort (N=3,168) of the Korean Youth Panel Survey. The major longitudinal findings of this study are as follows: First, adolescent abuse was found to have a positive association with future informal labeling. Second, informal labeling was found to have a negative association with future academic achievement. Finally, the longitudinal relationship between adolescent abuse and academic achievement was partially mediated by informal labeling. Based on these results, this study suggests directions for adolescent abuse prevention. The need for education and prevention of informal labeling was discussed, as well as the direction of intervention programs for adolescents with experience of informal labeling. Furthermore, this study may provide empirical evidence for labeling theory and contribute to increasing awareness on the longitudinal influence of adolescent abuse and informal labeling.
The purpose of this study is to examine the psychometric properties of the Korean Children's Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire (K-CRSQ). In order to investigate the reliability and validity of the K-CRSQ, the data were collected from 286 elementary students. The results are as follow : Internal consistency and test -retest reliability of the K-CRSQ were .83~.89, .72~.79, respectively. To test the convergent and discriminant validity, participants were separated into two samples and administered the K-CRSQ and ten validity indices. The correlation of K-CRSQ and validity indices scores suggested that the convergent and discriminant validity are high. High rejection sensitivity group revealed high score on intentional attribution, depression, anxiety, and aggression. In contrast, low rejection sensitivity group revealed high score on self-esteem, perceived competence, and social support. The results were compared with previous studies and the implication and limitation were discussed.

Based on these results, the practical implications for the warning of relapse of female alcoholics had been discussed.
This study examined conditions and influential factors of psycho-behavioral adjustment in abused children who had been returned home after out-of-home care. Subjects were selected nationwide from the Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. Findings were: (1)children had such psychological adjustment symptoms as withdrawal, depression, or anxiety, rather than symptoms of misdeeds and aggression. (2) Level of self-esteem and re-abuse were the great influential factors in psycho-behavioral adjustment. This result shows that the processes of out-of-home care and returning home remain important issues for abused children.

This study investigated subtypes of men who batter, and explored the differences among them. It was based on 217 subjects from all around the nation who received legal punishment. In the analysis of the typology, we specifically tested whether the Holtzworth-Munroe and Stuart proposed typology was verified. The results of the cluster analysis revealed support for their theoretical distinction for three types of abusers. These results imply that Holtzworth-Munroe and Stuart's batterer typology is applicable to Korean batterers to some degree. Type 1 men demonstrated the lowest levels of physical and psychological abuse toward their wives and were the least likely to have had a history of child abuse or alcohol problems. These men had lower MCMI scores and did not show any extraordinary personality traits. Men in this category were violent only against their wives, had relatively liberal sex role attitudes and had the most satisfaction in their intimate relationships. Type 2 men were violent only at home, using a moderate level of violence. These men had very high levels of dependency on others and showed a borderline, avoident or passive-aggressive personality. The amount of alcohol consumption was similar to Type 1, but scores of jealousy, self-esteem, and attitudinal variables were similar to Type 3 men. They lacked assertiveness skills and reported the least marital satisfaction. Type 3 men used the most severe violence and were violent both inside and outside the home. These men showed signs of antisocial and aggressive personality. They had experienced frequent physical abuse during childhood, were the most likely to abuse alcohol and had lower self-control. Type 3 were the most traditional in their views of women's roles and had attitudes supporting violence. Based upon the study findings, practical implications of enhancing treatment efficacy were considered.
This study is designed to find out clinical factors and the effects of individual art therapy for workers involved in industrial accident. From January 2017 to July 2019, 10 industrially injured workers were individually subjected to 11 art therapy sessions, and a multidimensional psychological test S type was used to examine changes in clinical factors before and after individual art therapy. The results showed that the average of the five clinical factors ranges from 2.80 to 4.20, indicating that the psychological pain of workers injured was significant. As a result of bivariate correlation analysis, it was confirmed that meaningful correlation existed within the statistical scope of all factors. As for the difference in the results of multidimensional psychological tests before and after art therapy, out of the five clinical factors, the Z values of depressed, anger and anxiety were -2.405(p=.016), -2.148 (p=.032) and -2.102 (p=.036), to confirm that the depressed, anger and anxiety of the participants have eased somewhat after performing individual art therapy.
This study aimed to investigate how child neglect abuse by parents, children's intimacy with teachers and peer attachment influenced boys' and girls' psycho-social maladjustment(aggression, social withdrawal and depression). The subjects were 2,264 elementary school students(boys: 1,180, girls: 1,084) in upper grades participating in the Korea Child Youth Panel Surveys. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, correlations and hierarchical regressions. The main results of this study were as follows. Firstly, regardless of children's sex, as child abuse levels by parents are higher, so children's aggression levels are higher. Also, children's intimacy with teachers and peer attachment moderated the effects of child neglect abuse by parents on both boys' and girls' aggression. But the patters of moderating effects were differed in children's sex. Secondly, child neglect abuse by parents didn't influence boys' and girls' social withdrawal and boys' peer attachment moderated the effects of child neglect by parents on boys' social withdrawal. Finally, child abuse by parents strongly influenced boys' depression, but child neglect by parents strongly influenced girls' depression. Also, there were no moderating effects of children's intimacy with teachers and peer attachment on the relation between child abuse neglect by parents, and boys' and girls' depression.

Objectives : The authors attempted to assess how much the mechanism of dissociation affects somatization disorder patients psychopathologically, and explore the relationship between sexual or physical abuse and somatic symptoms in somatization disorder patients. Methods : The authors administered the Dissociative Experiences Scales-Korean version(DESK) and Dissociative Disorders Interview Schedule to 25 patients with somatization disorder and 51 normal subjects. Results : There were no significant demographic differences between patient and control groups. The mean score of DES-K for patient group was 18.2, and 10.0 for the control group. The percentage of the individuals with high scores(20 and over) was 36.0 in the patient group and 7.8 in the control group, respectively. The percentage of the individuals with sexual and/or physical abuse was 16.0 in the patient group and zero in the control group. Our results showed that DES-K scores were not influenced by the factor of age or religion in either group, but the scores of the patients with somatization disorder were significantly higher than those in the normal subjects. Conclusion : There was an implication that the mechanism of dissociation affects issues of psychopathogenesis and psychopathology in Korean patients with somatization disorder, even though they have different sociocultural backgrounds in comparison to Western patients. The authors suggest it is useful to focus attention on childhood abuse and dissociation in the evaluation and dynamic psychotherapy of patients with somatization disorder.
