  • Nuclear reaction which occurs in the cyclotron generate unnecessary neutrons. The results of this happening can radioactivate surrounding materials and radioactive materials cause radiation exposure. When people take radioactive air, it makes internal exposure. The purpose of this study was to analyze the radioactive air inside of the ultra-compact 16.5 MeV cyclotron in operation. As a result of study, the radio activation occurred by compact cyclotron generates a very low internal exposure to workers. Comparing the radioactivity from radioactive nuclide with legal standard, that was under reference value. However, it could be at risk for internal exposure in case of higher energy cyclotron. Therefore, legal standard is needed for ventilation equipment of radiation facilities.

This study was to evaluate the level of job stress and the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal symptoms (WRMS) in Seoul city's SFEs, and to determine associations between job stress and WRMS. Methods: The study design was cross-sectional, and 975 SFEs were recruited. Self-administered questionnaire included the 'Korean occupational stress scale-short form' and the 'KOSHA GUIDE H-9-2012' instrument to evaluate the job stress and WRMS, respectively. SFEs' medians of job stress were compared to the reference values of published study in Korean workers. Results: The participants reported greater levels of job demand and physical environment than the general Korean population. WRMS were reported in 89.0% of participants at any body part, and 41.1% were presumed to need for medical intervention. High levels of job demand and of physical environment were significantly associated with WRMS. Conclusion: Subscales of job demand and physical environment were relatively high in SFEs and those were related to the occurrence of WRMS. To reduce the WRMS prevalence, a job stress management program focused on job demand and physical environment may be required.

  • This study analyzed the work experience of social workers employed in social welfare facilities in Seoul. We investigated key variables, including working conditions, job characteristics, workplace violence, work-related stress, and burnout experiences. Additionally, we utilized word cloud analysis to identify the primary opinions and experiences of social workers. The results showed that social workers' salaries were generally low, and there was dissatisfaction with the promotion and compensation systems. We also found that social workers pointed out issues related to time shortages, poor physical environments, and inadequate equipment. The analysis by institution type revealed that social workers in public institutions reported high job intensity and low satisfaction with their working conditions. Based on these findings, we propose policy and practical suggestions to improve the work environment of social workers.
