The effect of suspended sediment on bottom reverberation (부유성 퇴적물이 해저면 잔향음 신호에 미치는 영향)

  • 잔향음은 시변동성이 존재하는 유동성 경계면 잔향음(해수면, 체적)과 시변동성이 존재하지 않는 고정 경계면 잔향음(해저면)으로 분류된다. 그러나 고정 경계면 잔향음으로 알려진 해저면 잔향음에서도 단주기적 시변동성이 존재하고 있음이 여러 실측자료에서 관측되고 있다. 본 연구는 시변동성의 원인을 파악하고자 실험실에서 부유성 퇴적물의 농토에 따른 후방산란 신호를 측정하였다. 또한 동해에서 측정된 시간에 따른 잔향음신호(80kHz)와 ADCP(4.2MHz) 자료를 비교하여 천해에서의 체적 산란체의 변동이 잔향음 신호에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 확인하였다. 아울러 본 논문에서는 잔향음 신호의 단주기적 시변동성에 의한 잡음 성분을 제거하여 표준화된 잔향음 신호를 획득하기 위한 방법으로 Low Rank Approximation(LRA)을 제안하였다. 이 기법은 특이해 분해(Singular Value Decomposition, SVD)를 수행하여 실측 자료 행렬로부터 고유치(Eigenvalue)과 고유벡터(Eigenvector)를 추출한 후, 추출된 고유치를 제한적으로 사용하여 근사화 하는 기법으로 시변동성 신호를 제거하는데 효율적인 방법이다.

New Stability Conditions for Positive Time-Varying Discrete Interval System with Interval Time-Varying Delay Time (구간 시변 지연시간을 갖는 양의 시변 이산 구간 시스템의 새로운 안정 조건)

  • A dynamic system is called positive if any trajectory of the system starting from non-negative initial states remains forever non-negative for non-negative controls. In this paper, new sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability of the interval positive time-varying linear discrete-time systems with time-varying delay in states are considered. The considered time-varying delay time has an interval-like bound which has minimum and maximum delay time. The proposed conditions are established by using a solution bound of the Lyapunov equation and they are expressed by simple inequalities which do not require any complex numerical algorithms. An example is given to illustrate that the new conditions are simple and effective in checking stability for interval positive time-varying discrete systems.

Reverberation Characterization and Suppression by Means of Low Rank Approximation (낮은 계수 근사법을 이용한 표준 잔향음 신호 획득 및 제거 기법)

  • In this paper, the Low Rank Approximation (LRA) method to suppress the interference of signals from temporal fluctuations is applied. The reverberation signals and temporally fluctuating signals are separated from the measured data using the Ink. The Singular value decomposition (SVD) method is applied to extract the low rank and the temporally stable reverberation was extracted using the LRA. The reverberation suppression is performed on the LRA residual value obtained by removing the approximate reverberation signals. In overall, the method can be applied to the suppression of reververation in active sonar system as well as to the modeling of reverberation.

  • A dynamic system is called positive if any trajectory of the system starting from non-negative initial states remains forever non-negative for non-negative controls. In this paper, we consider the new stability condition for the positive time-varying linear discrete interval systems with time-varying delay and unstructured uncertainty. The delay time is considered as time-varying within certain interval having minimum and maximum values and the system is subjected to nonlinear unstructured uncertainty which only gives information on uncertainty magnitude. The proposed stability condition is an improvement of the previous results which can be applied only to time-invariant systems or had no consideration of uncertainty, and they can be expressed in the form of a very simple inequality. The stability conditions are derived using the Lyapunov stability theory and have many advantages over previous results using the upper solution bound of the Lyapunov equation. Through numerical example, the proposed stability conditions are proven to be effective and can include the existing results.

Analysis of the Korean Copper Price Elasticity using Time-Varying Model (시변 모형을 이용한 국내 구리 가격탄력성 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed the changes in copper consumption according to copper price fluctuations and identified the domestic copper price elasticity. A total of 408 time series data from January 1989 to December 2022 were analyzed using the vector autoregressive (VAR) model with net import volume, price, and production index as variables. In addition, to identify changes in the correlation between variables over time, the dynamic relationship between variables was identified using the time-varying vector autoregressive (TV-VAR) model. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the negative price elasticity for copper is -0.1835. In addition, the interquartile range was -0.3130 ~ 0.0886, with no consistent trend over time, but mainly negative elasticity. This study can be used to quantify the expected impact of various policy proposals and changes related to minerals.

Speech analysis using the Robust Time-Weighted Kalman filtering (시간가중치의 로버스트 칼만필터를 이용한 음성분석)

  • 시벼형 신호인 음성 신호의 분석에 칼만필터를 이용하였다. 일반적인 음성 분석은 프레임단위의 처리방법인 선형 예측 부호화 기법을 주로 이용하지만 음성의 시변 특성을 파악하는데에는 적절하지 못 하다. 따라서 순차적인 추정기법으로 많이 이용되는 칼만 필터를 음성 분석에 적용하였다. 또한 음성과 같은 시변신호에서는 과거 신호의 잡음의 분산값에 적당한 가중치를 부가하므로써 과거의 신호에 의해 서 현재의 추정값에 미치는 영향을 줄였으며 이를 음성의 천이 구간에서의 파라메타 추정에 사용하였 다. 그리고 음성신호 모델에서 생기는 모델링 오차는 일반적으로 백색 가우시안 잡음으로 가정하고 있 으나 이는 자음과 같은 무성음에서 특징 파라메타 푸정에는 오차가 적지만 모음등의 유성음에서는 음성 발생시의 여기신호인 펄스열에 의해서 많은 모델링 오차를 생기게 한다. 따라서 모델링 오차신호는 Non-Gaussian 확률분포로 가정한 후 로버스트 칼만 필터를 사용하여 합성으멩 대해 특징 파라메터를 추출하였다.

  • 잡음은 음성과 관련된 시스템의 성능을 제한하는 주된 원인이기 때문에 음성향상과 관련된 연구는 꾸준히 계속되어왔다. 전통적인 음성향상 방법은 무성음과 잡음을 구분하지 알기 때문에 잡음제거 과정에서 무성음이 함께 제거되는 단점이 있으며, 웨이블릿 기반의 전통적인 잡음제거 방법은 각 대역마다 동일한 문턱값을 사용하기 때문에 시변 환경에서 성능이 떨어지는 단점이 있다. 이 단점들을 개선하기위해 다중대역 파워 차감법과 Perceptual 웨이블릿 패킷 분해를 이용한 웨이블릿 기반의 개선된 음성향상 방법을 제안한다. 전처리 과정으로 다중대역 파워 차감법을 사용하여 광대역 잡음을 제거하고 뮤지컬 잡음의 발생을 줄이며, psycho-acoustic 모델 기반 Perceptual 웨이블릿 패킷으로 신호를 분해한 후 각 웨이블릿 노드의 엔트로피 비율과 음성검출을 이용하여 무성음/유성음/잡음을 구분한다. 구분된 신호에 따라 각 웨이블릿 노드마다의 문턱값을 기준으로 웨이블릿 Shrinkage를 적용하여 잡음을 제거하고 무성음이나 파워가 작은 유성음이 제거되는 오류를 최소화한다. 또한 잡음 파워 추정 과정에 적응적으로 망각 계수를 선택하여 잡음 파워 추정 오류를 최소화한다.

A Test on the Volatility Feedback Hypothesis in the Emerging Stock Market (신흥주식시장에서의 변동성반응가설 검정)

  • This study examined on the volatility feedback hypothesis through the use of threshold GARCH-in-Mean (GJR-GARCH-M) model developed by Glosten, Jaganathan, and Runkle (1993) in the stock markets of 14 emerging countries during the period of January, 1996 to May, 2009. On this study, I found successful evidences which can support the volatility feedback hypothesis through the following three estimation procedures. First, I found relatively strong positive relationship between the expected market risk premiums and their conditional standard deviations from the GARCH-M model in the basis of daily return on each representative stock market index, which is appropriate to investors' risk-averse preferences. Second, I can also identify the significant asymmetric time-varying volatility originated from the investors' differentiated reactions toward the unexpected market shocks by applying the GJR-GARCH-M model and further find the lasting positive risk aversion coefficient estimators. Third, I derived the negative signs of the regression coefficient of unpredicted volatility on the stock market return by re-applying the GJR-GARCH-M model after I controlled the positive effect of predicted volatility through including the conditional standard deviations from the previous GARCH-M model estimation as an independent explanatory variable in the re-applied new GJR-GARCH-M model. With these consecutive results, the volatility feedback effect was successfully tested to be effective also in the various emerging stock markets, although the leverage hypothesis turned out to be insufficient to be applied to another source of explaining the negative relationship between the unexpected volatility and the ex-post stock market return in the emerging countries in general.

  • In this paper, sample selective RLS(SSRLS) method is proposed, which aims to eliminate the influence of pitch bias. Its basic concepts are as follows. First it extracts the open glottis interval by using the residual signals, then estimates the formant values from the selected speech samples excluding above open glottis interval. This method has some analogy with the SSLPS, the simulation is conducted upon the synthetic and real speech. From these results, we find more usefulness of the proposed method than the conventional ones.

Harmonic Noise Evaluation Method for Home Appliance based on Sensory Evaluation (소비자 감성 평가에 의한 고조파 소음의 평가 방법)

  • Generally, noise from a home appliance has been measured by overall sound pressure level or sound power level, dB. Customers evaluation, however, of this noise should be depend on the only overall level but also the sensory feeling, annoyance, unpleasure and so on. Moreover, in this sensory evaluation, irregular, time-varying and uneven sounds which are difficult to describe itself by overall level are more affectable. Unfortunately however the formal evaluation method for this kinds of noise is not determined yet. In this research, the evaluation method for harmonic noise, which is a major noise from home appliance and one of the unmeasurable sounds by overall level, is proposed to evaluate its acceptability based on the consumer's sense of hearing. The proposed approach could be applied to the other sound, which acoustical characteristics are similar to the tonal noise.
