  • A design methodology for sustainable on the earth requires a synthetic, and holistic perspective to understand natural processes and urban environments. The apperceptive, holistic landscape design methodology includes one united environment combining analysis, planning and design. In addition, the individual process needs to provide enough spatial information and demands evaluation and understanding on the impact of a design result. The perspective and vision of Ian Mcharg, as asserted in his book, Design with Nature (1969), that the earth is one superorganism is being realized with Geodesign technologies. This paper made the following research efforts which can overcome the limit of the present GIS technologies for the sustainable landscape design: Review of the previous researches, analysis of foreign Geodesign cases and applied theories, suggestion of a Geodesign methodology for landscape design, selection of Geodesign tools and technologies for the implementation of the methodology, and finally the demonstration of effectiveness and potentiality by the application of the methodology.

  • This paper performed studies on a guide for an environmental assessment necessary to select railroad route optimally, and presented techniques for an environmental friendly route selection using AHP(Analytical Hierarchy Process) as an objective method. The AHP is an approach to decision making that involves multiple choice criteria into a hierarchy and assessing the relative importance of each criterion, and determining an overall ranking of the alternatives. For the purpose of this study, we established the weight and the order of major environmental assessment items based on the survey of experts. The results of the weight by AHP were in order of Fauna & Flora, Topography & Geology, Nature Environmental Assets, Noise & Vibration, Water Quality, Landscape and Air Quality indicating natural environment should be in priority. To develop the more efficient environmental friendly route selection systems, it is necessary to consider economical, technical, and social aspects in addition to environmental consideration.

  • The web environment is evolving rapidly. Testing in the web based software is an essential process to improve stability and productivity. Testing of complex web contents and ill(user interface) is most important thing. Implemented test cases are efficient when they are automated and reusable. But, most of the testing automation tools are focused on technical accessibility and functions still. A collaboration of the persons concerned and reusability of implemented test case are ignored. In this paper we propose an efficient way to design automated test case in web environment, and to share and pattern automated test cases we introduce testing framework called NTAF(NHN Test Automation Framework.). The NTAF is based on open source framework. It provides integrated testing environment that web testing cane be automated and managed continuously.

  • Dokdo is a volcano edifice originating from an oceanic island that was formed around 3 million to 2.2 million years ago, and it consists of Dongdo(eastern island) and Seodo(western island). Even though Dokdo is a small volcanic island, Dokdo has infinite potential value and significant economic, social, scientific, and technical aspects due to its resources, ecological and territorial value. In addition, it is of national interest with regards to the dispute with Japan over the dominium of Dokdo. A need to evaluate the ground stability of Dokdo, especially in Dongdo, has been seriously raised recently due to the various cracks caused by the progressive weathering and corrosion. This study dealt with the geology and geological layers of Dokdo and identified the status of ground cracks as the previous research to evaluate the ground stability of zones of concern in Dongdo. Also, this study analyzed the relationships between physical and mechanical properties with rock types. The results showed that the values of rock properties in Dokdo are lower contrary to the general rocks in Korea, and tuff was especially affected by the weathering and corrosion.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a comprehensive research model that can explain potential customers' intentions to adopt and use VPA(Virtual Personal Assistants) devices. This study proposes and validates a new theoretical model that extends the perceived value theory. Partial least squares analysis is employed to test the research model and corresponding hypotheses on data collected from 313 survey samples. Perceived value, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment are important factors affecting the adoption of VPA devices. To increase potential users' intention to use, VPA device manufacturers should not only focus on developing utilitarian functions but also fun features based on open development echo-system. This study is the important empirical attempt to examine user acceptance of VPA devices, as most of the prior literature has concerned analysis of usage patterns or technical features.

  • Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology mitigates the emission amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and can reduce green house effect which causes the climate change. Deep saline aquifer or obsolete oil/gas storage etc. in the marine geological structure are considered as the candidates for the storage. The injection and storage relating technology have been interested in the global society, however the adverse effect caused by leakage from the system failure. Even the safety level of the CCS is very high and there is almost no possibility to leak but, still the risk to marine ecosystem of the high concentrated carbon dioxide exposure is not verified. The present study introduces the system and environmental risk assessment methods. The feature, event and process approach can be a good starting point and we found the some possibility from the fault tree analysis for evaluation. From the FEP analysis, we drove the possible scenario which we need to concentrate on the construction and operation stages.

  • In Korea, groundwater management has been conducted based on the estimation of annual average of groundwater recharge. Since groundwater recharge and surface water-groundwater interactions show spatiotemporal variation, continuous monitoring and dynamic analysis must be carried out to evaluate the sustainability of groundwater resources. In this study, SWAT-MODFLOW, an integrated surface water-groundwater model was used to analyze surface-groundwater interactions for various groundwater pumping scenarios in Musimcheon watershed. When current usage is applied, the baseflow reduction is about 16%, and annual averaged storage reduction is about 27 mm for whole watershed. As a holistic approach to groundwater sustainability considers the hydrological, ecological, socioeconomic, technological aspects of groundwater utilization, the exploitable groundwater should be determined by physical analysis as well as social compromise in a community.

  • The fisheries industry is rapidly shifting from a traditional fishery to aquaculture paradigm and it faces various problems such as depletion of fishery resources and aging of fishing villages. We need the establishment of a fisheries big data platform that includes both the data of the central and surrounding industries of the fisheries industry for enhancement of establishment of a fisheries, 6th industrialization of fishing villages, establishment of related technical standards, and discovery of the new industries to overcome this. Data center agencies should collect, link, and pre-processing, and the platform organizer should create a water industry data virtuous circle through the establishment, operation, and data market of big data platforms to help overcome the current crisis, secure smart fisheries hegemony, and use it as a key to value transfer. Through this study, I would like to propose a policy and technical big data platform construction plan to successfully promote it.
