  • This study aimed to understand the pre-capitalistic distributional system in association with politics and economics by examining the distributional system between 1876 (the opening of a port era) and 1910. The study revealed that the distributional system reflected the political and economic characteristics and changes of the pre-capitalistic society. The examination indicated the following implications and questions. First, we need a new narrative of Chosun's distributional system before the period of Japanese occupation. Chosun's distributional system can be identified as a self sufficient system (Hwan-gok). Second, most social welfare literature discuss private self sufficient system such as Gye or Hwang-Yak as the distributional system in the pre-modern Chosun; however, this does not accurately explain the system of Chosun society. Implication of such findings are discussed.

They are education oriented consuming type, diet oriented type, social network oriented type, transportation-communication oriented type, health & medical oriented type, and housing expenditure oriented type. • This paper aims to describe the rapid growth of the one-person households in terms of the socio-economic demographic perspectives during the period of 1995-2005 and to analyze the spatial distribution patterns based on different characteristics of one-person households. The increase in the divorce ratio in the middle-aged, the growth of unmarried people the young generation, and the increase of life expectancy in the old generation are explanatory factors for the rise and diversification of one-person households in Korea. The rapid increase of one-person households is accompanied by a diversification in their age, gender, marital status, education level. Uneven distribution of one-person households depends on their age, level of education and dwelling type. Highly educated young adults residing in their own apartment are generally concentrated in major cities, whereas senior citizen with their own single house who lives alone are mostly in rural area. One-person households of the highly educated young adults are significantly polarized in the light of their the living standards. In particular, metropolitan area or big cities are mixed with those who have their own apartment and are financially capacity and with those who rent in a detached single house. As such, one-person households have considerably heterogeneous characteristics. Therefore, each local government will face different economic and social problems based on which group of one-person households are increasing and where they are concentrated in. To this extent, the local government should have differentiated welfare policy according to its own respect.

So, the main premise of this study that social contexts, social support of spouse and extended family, is very important for successful parenting of mothers with mental illness. Thus this study analyzes the impact of marital relationship and social support of networks on three dimensions of parenting competency(expression of love, encouragement of independence, rational discipline) when the socioeconomic(age, number of offsprings, subjective economic level) and disability variables(diagnosis, severity of symptoms, chronicity, frequencies of psychiatric admission) are controlled. This study conducted the survey with 145 mothers with schizophrenia and mood disorder. The major finding of the study are : i) Using step-wise multiple regression, marital relationship, social supports and economic level affect significantly on the expression of love. ii) Using step-wise multiple regression, the most powerful influenced factor on encouragement of independence is marital relationship. iii) Using step-wise multiple regression, diagnosis, severity of symptoms, chronicity and economic level affect significantly on the rational discipline. That is two dimensions of parenting competency, expression of love and encouragement of independence, can be explained well by social contexts variables(marital relationship, social support, economic level). But only rational discipline can be explain well by disability factors. In conclusion, this study recommends service providers to use family based comprehensive case management for the mothers with mental illness.

  • Social enterprises have a high cost structure, inefficient operation, and poor human and material resources due to a dual structure that must achieve both economic and social purposes. To solve this problem, collaboration, such as sharing resources and information between social enterprises, is emerging as an important management issue. Accordingly, in recent years, the establishment and operation of an online platform is being emphasized as a means to effectively support the problem of lack of resources (human resources, equipment, funds, and technology) between social enterprises, the promotion of joint projects between companies, and the establishment of organic information sharing and communication channels between companies. This study empirically analyzed how the required characteristics of the online platform that supports the collaboration of social enterprises vary depending on the characteristics of the enterprise (general characteristics, collaboration characteristics), and found that there are statistically significant differences depending on the size. These results are expected to be useful in deriving management plans for online platforms for cooperation support for domestic social enterprises in the future, and seeking ways to increase collaboration using the platforms.

  • This research aims to examine whether depression has mediating effects in the effects of socioeconomic deprivation, especially of lower variables of socioeconomic deprivation on life satisfaction of the elderly. For this purpose, the 12th year(2017) data of the Korea Welfare Panel Study were used. The mediated effect analysis method of Baron and Kenny(1986) were used, and mediating effect of depression was validated through Sobel Test. The results of this research are as follows. Firstly, the lower variables of socioeconomic deprivation of the elderly -deprivation of housing, deprivation of dietary life, social deprivation, deprivation of employment, and deprivation of healthcare- had partial mediating effects of depression in life satisfaction. It was verified that as the elderly experienced deprivation of housing, deprivation of dietary life, social deprivation, deprivation of employment and deprivation of healthcare, depression increased and life satisfaction was lowered. Therefore, it was suggested that to enhance the living satisfactions of the elderly, policies and services reflecting the personal characteristics of socioeconomic deprivation and depression must be made, and that criteria to identify the multidimensional poverty and deprivation experienced in everyday life must be prepared in addition to poverty focusing on income.
