Waterproofing performance evaluation according to each waterproofing material due to segment construction error (세그먼트 시공오차에 따른 이음부 지수재별 방수성능 평가)

  • The interest in the use of shield TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) on the tunnel excavation has been increased rapidly in Korea. The shield TBM tunnel is generally designed as non-drainage tunnel. Consequently, if water leakage through the segment joints happens, big problems on the usage and stability of tunnel can be occurred. In this study, the variation of waterproof capacity of hydrophilic rubber waterstop and gasket, respectively by the construction error and excessive displacement of segment was studied. The test results show that hydrophilic rubber waterstop has favorable on the offset, however unfavorable on the gap. On the other hand, gasket has unfavorable on the offset, however favorable on the gap.

  • 최근 도입 필요성이 계속하여 높아지고 있는 지하방수로 유입구로는 유입구 효율과 성능으로 인하여 와류식 유입구가 많이 적용되고 있다. 그 중 나선식 유입구(spiral intake)는 가장 일반적으로 사용되는 형식으로 초기에 활용되었던 원형 유입구(circular intake)를 대신하여 사용되는 형식이다. 형태적인 복잡성에 도 불구하고 형식상의 특성으로 인하여 와류(vortex)를 안정적으로 형성시키기 때문에 많이 사용되고 있다. 나선식 지하방수로 유입구가 사용되는 가장 큰 이유는 유입구 내부에서도 수위가 안정적으로 유지되며, 유입 유량에 따른 수위의 변화가 다른 유입구 형식에 비하여 비교적 안정적으로 예측 가능하기 때문이며, 만약 지하방수로 유입구 내부에서 수위가 안정적으로 유지되지 못하고 도수 현상 등에 의한 수위 상승 현상 등이 발생하는 경우 지하방수로 내부로 안정적으로 유량을 배제하는 것이 어려워지고, 또한 도수 현상이 발생하는 동안 과도한 유량이 유입될 경우 다시 본류로 흐름이 역류할 가능성도 생각할 수 있다. 따라서 유입구 형상에 따른 수위의 변화를 정확히 예측하는 것이 매우 중요해 진다. 본 연구에서 검토될 나선식 종경사형 유입구(inclined spiral intake)는 일정한 바닥 경사를 도입하여 사류 흐름을 보다 안정적으로 가속시켜 유입구 내부에서의 도수 현상을 방지하는 형식으로 유입구 바닥의 외측 또는 중앙선을 따라서 일정한 경사를 주어 사류 유입 흐름을 안정적으로 유도함으로서 유량 배제 효율을 높인 형태라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 유입구 외측을 기준으로 일정한 경사(5.0 %, 7.5 %, 10.0%, 12.5%)를 가진 나선식 종경사형 유입구 모형을 제작하여 유입 유량 변화에 따른 유입구 내부에서 수위-유량관계를 확인하였다

Experimental Study on Seismic Performance Evaluation of Lake Dike Structures under Earthquake Loading (지진하중에 의한 방수제 구조물의 내진성능 평가를 위한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper presents the characteristics behavior of dike structure and foundation ground through the shaking table model test. The vibration loadings of design earthquake acceleration of 0.154g was applied to this laboratory model test regarding on dike structure and foundation ground under the structure. The model was formulated with 1/100 design of representative cross section for evaluating the effectiveness of vibration. Based on the test results, we can analysis the behavior of lateral displacement and settlement characteristics of structure under the earthquake loading. The pore water pressure was also monitored in the upper, middle and lower layers of ground. Finally, the actual displacements and pore water pressure of the structure can be predicted by using the results of the laboratory shaking table test.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the necessity for waterproofing and corrosion-resistant technique application on concrete water tank used in water supply. Relevant research materials and regulation were collected, reviewing for the case studies of sample structures aged over 20 years, and experimental studies on chloride conduction for the high performance concrete and penetration properties of water repellency of liquid type materials. The result is that the concrete water tank in the water supply is needed for waterproofing and corrosion-resistant material coating to maintain long term durability due to the constant environmentally induced degradation deterioration often caused by chloride attack.

  • As landscaping building roofs and concrete structures increase gradually for low carbon green growth policy of government, But waterproofing membranes of those structures are effecting by root penetration of landscape plant. 80, we progressed study about test method for fast evaluating root resistance of waterproofing materials jointly with Tokyo Institute of Technology. The result of the study is as follows: (1) The penetrating load of the needle at the displacement speed of 1mm/min was measured for various membrane to basis and lap joints of membrane, the load force was $3{\sim}50$ N by material variously. (2) According to the test method of deriving rhizomes of bamboo grass to basis and lap joints of membrane, there were no penetrated membrane until present, but need persistent observation. (3) Test method of deriving rhizomes of bamboo grass to basis and lap joints of membrane can shorten from period of 2 years to 1 year for testing. Because rhizomes of bamboo grass can grow from May to September, test is possible in same period.

  • The bonding of the asphalt-based waterproof sheet is carried out in such a manner that the sheet and the sheet are adhered together and the lower adhesive layer of one sheet is adhered to the upper film layer of the other sheet, and the asphalt layer and the PE or HDPE film layer are bonded. When the joints are formed in the form of junctions between heterogeneous materials and exposed to the concrete joint movements and other deteriorating factors, the integrity of the joints can deteriorate and problems such as lifting and peeling off of the joints can occur. Therefore, this study was carried out to prevent unstable joint adhesion of the asphalt compound and film layer and to prevent defects in the adhesion between self - adhesive waterproof sheets. The self-adhesive waterproof sheet of this study can maximize bond stability by inducing bond between asphalt compounds during sheet-to-sheet bonding, thereby improving bonding strength.

  • Urethane waterproofing materials which currently being used most commonly in the Korean domestic market have high applicability and construct layers without forming any joints, but under the influence of low temperature and low humidity, as well as the thickness of the applied layer, the curing time of this material may become extended in construction sites. To resolve these issues, a proposed method of using water-hardening type of polyurethane waterproofing materials are being developed. However, there currently lacks any standards or evaluation methods on determining an optimal mixture ratio of water for the water-hardening polyurethane waterproofing materials. Therefore, for the establishment of a board applicability of the water-hardening polyurethane waterproofing methods in construction sites, this study objectively analyzes the changes in the performance of these materials depending on the changes of the water mixture ratio and attempts to procure the optimal ratio on the basis of forming a provisionary standard.

  • This paper deals with a waterproof and mechanical feature of concrete using an inorganic self waterproof agent. The waterproof agents having been used in our country were a membrane agent, penetration agent and an organic waterproof agent. However, these agents have a lot of problems such as losing the effect of waterproof in the environment of lots of water, the difficulty of dispersion. For the clear of problems of these water -proof agents, we used the inorganic waterproof agent. This agent was made from inorganic fluosilicate. Generally, a waterproof agent has been used only for the waterproof effect. In this paper, however through the some tests of concrete using the inorganic self waterproof agent, we recognized that the concrete using the agent is more excellent in some peculiar properties than general concrete's properties. In this paper, we performed compressive strength, permeability, pore volume test, etc. As a result, the concrete of using the agent is more excellent in economy, waterproof, compressive strength.

  • The spray-applied waterproofing membrane is installed on shotcrete or concrete surface to make impermeable layer with 3-5 mm thick for the purpose of waterproofing. This study aims to determine the internal structure of a spray-applied waterproofing membrane including pores by using X-ray CT technique. Before obtaining X-ray images of the membrane specimens, a waterproof performance test was performed on the membrane specimens with a water pressure of 500 kPa for 28 days. Results show that the movement of moisture is made through micropores. This is based on the fact that the large pores inside the membrane are not saturated and the degrees of saturation of the micropores are high. X-ray image is effective for determining the pore size distribution and whether the membrane with pores contains the water However, it is necessary to pay attention to the determination of water content, since water content may vary depending on the threshold value of X-ray image analysis applied to calculate the water content.

  • The field application through the quality control of self adhesive rubberized asphalt waterproofing sheet was regulated by KS F 4934 of Korea Standard in 2003. However, regulations that different material properties of self-Adhesive waterproofing sheets are difficult on the standard. Therefore, this research was performed for of quality control all affiliations of self-adhesive waterproofing sheet through basic properties test and proposed quality standard revised bill in KS F 4934.
