Learning Outcomes of Design and Software Convergence Major for Engineering Education Accreditation (공학교육인증을 위한 디자인과 소프트웨어 융합전공의 학습성과)

  • In the rapidly changing society since the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the cultivation of convergence talents that can solve complex problems is emerging as an important issue. The purpose of this study is to propose the core competencies required to establish the program learning outcomes of the engineering and education curriculum, which is the accreditation standard of engineering education proposed by ABEEK(Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea). Case study methodology was applied to achieve the purpose of the study. The case of analysis is design and software convergence majors of domestic and foreign universities. The educational objectives and course syllabi were analyzed. As a result of the research, four core competencies to be achieved in the design and software convergence majors were derived in addition to the ten program outcomes presented by ABEEK. New core competencies are convergence ability, creative thinking, entrepreneurship, and design ability. The result of this study is expected to contribute to the development of the evaluation system for the convergence engineering education field.

A Study on the Topic Types of Mobility-Related Graduation Works of Industrial Design Engineering Majors - Focusing on Cases from K-University over the Past 5 Years (디자인공학전공의 모빌리티 관련 졸업작품 주제 유형 연구 - K대학교의 최근 5년간 사례를 중심으로)

  • In general, design education related to transportation has been recognized as a department specialized in transportation design or as an area of detailed transportation majors within industrial design majors. However, as technological, social, and environmental factors change, the concept of mobility and the ecosystem related to the mobility industry are diversifying, and accordingly, the category of mobility-related design is expanding further. Based on this background, this study is not a mobility design major, but it aims to find implications by analyzing the trend and type of topic selection related to the mobility ecosystem among the last five years of graduation design topics conducted in the design engineering major. As a result of the study, of a total of 131 graduation design works conducted over the past five years, about 30 works were highly related to mobility, and their types were very diverse. In conclusion, it was confirmed that the change and expansion of the mobility ecosystem expanding from products to services and systems were also reflected in the selection of graduation works in that various topics approached from user-centered and user experience were proposed and made into works.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out latent needs of users through the difference of information inflow between design major and engineering major reflecting car lifestyle and to complement them. Although those two relationship deepens due to the development of industrialization, collaboration is still a difficult situation. To find out lifestyle of between those two majors, experiments were carried out quantitatively by conducting in-depth interviews and additionally survey were conducted concurrently. The results showd clearly difference in meaning and value of the automobile. This phenomenon is related to identity. The designers expressed themselves by car, and others differed by using their cars as a means of mobility.

Development of Studio Lectures to Develop Systematic Model Making Skills in Industrial Design Engineering Major (디자인공학전공에서의 체계적 모형 제작 스킬 함양을 위한 스튜디오 강의 개발)

  • The process of verifying design concepts and ideas by producing real or equivalent model is essential in the product development process. Against this background, the purpose of this study is to consider the case of developing subjects that can systematically cultivate the ability to produce model from the basic stage to a certain level or higher, focusing on design engineering majors. As a theoretical consideration for this, prior studies related to making such as modeling or prototyping in related areas and majors such as industrial design are considered, followed by Bloom's revised taxonomy model and Hioshi Ishikawa's industrial design program as a methodological consideration for curriculum development. Finally, by applying this, we propose a new course that includes a lecture plan corresponding to the 16th week of learning, which is a general semester of university education. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that producing a physical model was still essential for the development of a new design, and accordingly, it was also necessary to establish a systematic curriculum suitable for the major area. Since the scope of this study extends to the development of subjects, in subsequent studies, it is necessary to consider the contents such as verification and reflection of the utility as competency education through actual application and suggestion of improved subject design.

  • Students have to effectively get lots of knowledge and technique for practical education. Usability is one of the most important factors that have to be considered for user-centered design. Students who study design have to recognize the importance of usability and learn the method of problem solving considering usability. For this, the application of project-based and participatory learning for usability education was studied. Study team was organized including graduate, undergraduate, and high school students. Students team identified a research topic, and then studied the topic. Usability evaluation and design improvement was performed in this study. Students could learn usablity evaluation method and design method through the process.

  • It is very important to minimize the maintenance cost on easy accessibility in the production information system, change of production process line, and system expansion for globalization of logistics and production in the steel and manufacturing. In this paper, we design applying design patterns of object-oriented as well as implement web-based integrated manufacturing management system using JSP for easy accessibility of users and reduction of maintenance cost on business expansion and system integration. In addition, The proposed MES system supports various functionality such as equipment master code management, equipment management, inspection management, repair management, failure management, and statistic management in detail.

  • 본 연구에서는 주행승차감 및 안정성을 고려한 전동킥보드의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 역공학 기법을 사용하여 주요 시스템의 품질요소, 제품특성 등을 분석하고 사용자 요구사항을 도출하기 위해 품질기능전개(QFD: Quality Function Deployment)방법론을 적용하였으며 그 결과로 사용자 요구사항은 6개의 범주에서 20개를 도출하였으며 품질특성 요구사항은 16개 도출하여 최종 12개를 시스템 품질특성(CTQ: Critical To Quality)으로 선정하였다.

  • 시각장애인의 독립보행은 많은 위험 부담과 어려움을 안고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 어려움을 해결하고자 사용자에게 GPS를 통해 목적지까지 안전한 경로로 안내하는 기능을 제공한다. 사물 인식 알고리즘을 통해 주행 시 필요한 장애물 판별과 신호등의 색상 등을 인식한다. 그리고 아두이노 초음파 센서를 활용하여 장애물과 사용자 간의 거리를 인식하고, 블루투스 모듈을 통해 측정한 값을 송신하여 구간별에 따라 사용자에게 경고음을 울린다. 더 나아가 AR 기능을 통해서 장애물을 입체적으로 강조하여 표시함으로써 저시력 장애인들이 장애물과 충돌하는 것을 예방한다.
