Analysis of International Standardization Trends of Smart Mining Technology: Focusing on GMG Guidelines (스마트 마이닝 기술 국제 표준화 동향 분석: GMG 가이드라인을 중심으로)

  • In this study, international standardization trend of smart mining technology was analyzed focusing on the guidelines developed by GMG (Global Mining Guidelines Group). GMG is a non-profit organization that unites the global mining community. It was established to promote mining safety, innovation and sustainability. Currently, GMG's working group consists of artificial intelligence, asset management, autonomous mining, cybersecurity, data access and usage/interoperability, the electric mine, mineral processing, underground mining, and sustainability. Guideline development projects related to smart mining technology are being conducted in artificial intelligence, autonomous mining, cybersecurity, data access and usage/interoperability, and underground mining. As of April 2022, eight types of smart mining-related guidelines have been published through pre-launch, launch, guideline definition, contents generation, technical editing/layout/final review, and voting process. It is judged that the GMG guidelines can be an important reference for the development of domestic smart mining technology standards.

A Study on the Data Availability Statements of Researchers Affiliated with Korean Institutions: Focusing on the PLOS ONE (국내 기관 소속 연구자의 데이터 가용성 진술 (Data Availability Statements) 현황 연구: PLOS ONE 학술지를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status and characteristics of research data sharing by domestic researchers by analyzing the data sharing mechanism and repository specified in DAS of papers authored by domestic researchers. To this end, in this study, papers of researchers belonging to domestic institutions published in PLOS ONE from 2014 to 2022 were selected as the subject of the study. First of all, the status of DAS's existence in the papers was identified, the types of data-sharing mechanisms were analyzed using precedent studies, and the trend of changes in each data-sharing mechanism over time was investigated. As a result, it was found that DAS was written in 99.6% of the target papers, and the types of data-sharing mechanisms were similar to international patterns, but preferred types were changing over time. Afterward, focusing on repositories among data sharing mechanisms, the number and ratio of repositories mentioned in DAS were identified, and the trend of changes in use of the five repositories mentioned a lot was analyzed in a time series. In addition, the presentation method, type, and validity of the data access point mentioned along with the repository were also investigated. It was confirmed that the top five frequently mentioned repositories account for 60% of all repository mentions, and the use of a repository dealing with data codes is increasing; in addition, it was found that most of the data access points presented with the repository were valid.

  • This research suggests a design process that effectively complements the human-centered design through an objective data-driven approach. The subjective human-centered design process can often lack objectivity and can be supplemented by the data-driven approaches to effectively discover hidden user needs. This research combines the data mining analysis with co-design process and verifies its applicability through the case study on the smart heating jacket. In the data mining process, the clustering can group the users which is the basis for selecting the target groups and the decision tree analysis primarily identifies the important user perception attributes and values. The broad point of view based on the data analysis is modified through the co-design process which is the deeper human-centered design process by using the developed workbook. In the co-design process, the journey maps, needs and pain points, ideas, values for the target user groups are identified and finalized. They can become the basis for starting new product development.

Study on the Viewers' Perception of Investigative Journalism Before and After Pandemic Using Big Data (빅데이터를 활용한 팬데믹 전후 탐사보도프로그램에 대한 시청자 인식연구)

  • This paper analyzes viewers' perception of investigative journalism before and after COVID-19, and examines the direction of investigative journalism using big data. Based on the previous research set as a social science model, the relationship between words related to big data TV current affairs programs and investigative journalism in this paper was investigated before and after the appearance of COVID-19. We visualized changes in viewers' perception of investigative journalism by analyzing text data obtained through the use of Textom, with TV current affairs programs and investigative journalism as keywords. Data was collected from 2017 to June 2022 and refined for analysis. We visualized connectivity centrality using Ucinet 6.0 and Netdraw, and clustered the number of keywords and their frequency using Concor analysis. Our study found a clear change in viewer perception before and after the pandemic. As an implication of this thesis, big data analysis was conducted with the investigative journalism as the main keyword, and the direction of the investigative journalism was presented based on the analysis. Furthermore, based on previous research, we suggest effective approaches for investigative journalism after the pandemic to better engage viewers.

A Study on the Development of an Effective GIS Data Maintenance Plan -Focused on the Applications for Municipalities (효율적인 GIS 데이터 유지관리 방안의 개발에 관한 연구 - 지방자치단체를 중심으로 -)

  • As the number of the municipalities which have finished the phase I of their GIS system development projects increases, it is very natural that GIS system operation and maintenance rather than development itself has been a more important concern for these municipalities. It seems to me that these phenomena will be amplified as time goes by, and this is the right time for a series of proper guidelines regarding the GIS system maintenance to be supplied to the related municipalities. The subject which is called as 'GIS maintenance' is surely a very comprehensive area. It has been also founded that the necessity is widely agreed among the concerned people working for the municipalities which have already finished their first GIS projects. Nevertheless, it has been investigated that the studies done up to now in this area is in a very infant state from the quality and also quantity points of views. This paper, therefore, makes one of the very initial trials for the systematical GIS maintenance. Among the areas of GIS maintenance, the GIS database maintenance has been selected as the first trial area because of its natural characteristics of the basic element composing IS(Information System). For this, the present conditions of a variety of municipalities have been investigated as far as GIS maintenance is concerned, and the results are analyzed to produce a series of useful outcomes in terms of facing problems and accompanied plans. For each problem, a solution is defined and for each solution a detailed action plan (item) is derived. For each of the two kinds of GIS data given which are the fundamental map and the underground facilities map, an effective GIS data maintenance plan is suggested for the concerned municipalities.

  • As sharing of research data has become essential, overseas publishers are providing authors with DAS templates to facilitate data sharing. However, the domestic academic market is still lacking in policies related to such research. This study proposes a data sharing policy and DAS template that can be applied to domestic academic societies in order to activate data sharing. To this end, data sharing policies of 5 foreign publishers including Nature and 12 DAS templates including AMS were investigated and analyzed. As a result of the study, an overview of the data sharing policy applicable to domestic academic conferences and a DAS template consisting of 12 items were derived. It is judged that the data sharing policy and DAS template to be presented as a result of this study can be a practical guide and tool for data sharing.

  • According to computer-based life style and computer networking system is generalized, the construction of information system based on the construction of database is one of the major jobs in the design field. The construction of standard database system is one of the major factors to build the information infra and develop design field as knowledge-base industry. However, the construction of user-based dassification of database is prior to that of standard design database system. This study presents the possibility of the construction of user-friendly and standard database system by studying the dassification system of database.

  • Modern networks and the internet now handle an unprecedented volume of data packets, making efficient traffic management increasingly challenging. To address this issue, next-generation network architectures like Content-Centric Networks (CCN) have emerged. CCN focuses on content-centric data processing to minimize unnecessary traffic. Traditional internet architectures primarily use an end-to-end approach, where multiple users requesting content simultaneously can lead to a surge in traffic. In contrast, CCN optimizes traffic by utilizing in-network cache functions, reducing the time required to serve content to users. Therefore, in CCN, it is crucial to determine which caching policy to apply for effective content management. Existing research has proposed various caching methods based on factors like Hit count and producer popularity. However, these methods often fail to consider content type, resulting in situations where less popular videos are removed in favor of images, potentially increasing network traffic. This study proposes a caching strategy that distinguishes between content type and producer popularity to further reduce network traffic and response time.

  • 최근에 기업들이 지역별 특성을 고려한 마케팅전략을 수립하기 위해 GIS를 활용하려는 시도가 이어지고 있다. 그러나 GIS 데이터의 특성상 일반 고객들이 손쉽게 접근하기 어려운 상황이다. 따라서 GIS 데이터의 한계를 극복하고 기업의 효율적인 타겟마케팅 업무지원을 위해 본 연구에서는 공간단위를 블록으로 구성하고 그 활용방안을 모색해보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 블록의 영역을 구분한 후, 특성을 표현하기에 유의미한 인문사회적 요인으로 분류하였다. 이렇게 구성된 블록은 판매 상승 혹은 판매 하락 지역의 특성을 파악할 수 있음을 물론, 이와 유사한 블록을 추출함으로써 잠재적인 상승판매 지역을 설정하여 유형별 특성에 따른 차별화된 마케팅 전략을 수립하는데 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 현재 국내외에 거실을 잡기위한 노력들이 전방위적으로 이뤄지고 있다. 거실에서 쉽게 쇼핑을 하고, 커튼이나 조명을 켜고, 음악을 듣고, 피자를 시켜 먹으며, 외부 약속을 위해 택시를 부르는, 글로벌 기업들의 '스마트 홈'의 기능으로 인공지능과 음성인식을 통한 산물이 되었다. 또한 이러한 데이터를 중심으로 빅데이터의 보고가 되어간다. 때문에 구글, 아마존, MS, 삼성과 우리나라의 SKT와 LG 등의 기업들이 이러한 기술기반으로 접근하는 현황을 파악하고, 기술에 대한 적정성을 제안할 필요가 있다.
