  • This research defines research support service, and compares the support service provided by college libraries in Korea and overseas. The findings showed that the frequency of college library service in Korean schools were low. Korean college libraries' services were mostly limited to the services of a normal library such as bibliographic education, full text service, and interlibrary loan service. To put it differently, Korean college libraries lacked information services on research ethics. Research spot services per research stage were mostly restricted to the data collection stage, and deficient elsewhere. On the other hand, college libraries in the U.S. were providing a platform for scholarly communication between researcher and scholars via websites.

  • Social and psychological experiences in human-agent interactions are becoming more important than the task-oriented efficiency, as the influence of computer agents increases and human-agent interaction develops similarly with interpersonal interaction. Many previous studies aimed to increase social presence in human-agent interaction, in order to derive users' positive psychological experiences, by applying the factors of interpersonal communication to verbal and non-verbal communication of the agents. This study examined the effects of the exchanges of mutual self-disclosure, one of the most important communication acts in interpersonal communication, between users and interface agents. Users' attachment styles towards the perception of social presence, the evaluations toward the agents, user experiences, and the intentions for future interaction were also studied. The mediating role of social presence in dependent variables was, also, examined in this research. The results showed that exchanging self-disclosures with an agent increased the perceptions of social experience, friendly evaluations toward the agent, positive user experience, and the intentions for future interaction. Participants' attachment styles, also, affected the perceptions of the dependent variables. The effects of the exchanges of self-disclosure and participants' attachment styles were mediated by perceived social presence toward the agent. The findings of this study imply that the social and communicational aspects need to be considered in design of the agents seriously. The results also suggest that there may be differences in the psychological effects of agents on users according to the users' personality.

Therefore successful science class is the main concern of various educational partakers, such as teachers, students, parents, school administrators, and science education researchers. In order to find what is important among the teaching abilities of science teachers, a survey was conducted to the various educational partakers. As the result of survey, students chose 'progressing a lesson' and 'teacher's attitude' are important, and in-service teachers chose 'analyzing learner characteristics and curriculum' and 'teacher-student interaction' are important, while the pre-service teachers and parents chose 'teacher-student interaction' and 'progressing a lesson' are important. In addition, the school administrators chose 'setting up teaching-learning strategy' and science education researchers chose 'understanding curriculum and developing teaching-learning method' is important along with 'analyzing learner characteristics and curriculum.' In the communication on science education among different educational partakers, these result can be used as the basic information to understand the different perspectives on a science class.
