Proportional Reasoning Strategy of Pre-service Elementary Teachers (초등예비교사의 비례추론 과제에 대한 전략 분석)

  • In this study, I hoped to reveal the understanding of pre-service elementary teachers about proportional reasoning and the traits of proportional reasoning strategy used by pre-service elementary teachers. The results of this study are as follows. Pre-service elementary teachers should deal with various proportional reasoning tasks and make a conscious effort to analyze proportional reasoning task and investigate various proportional reasoning strategies through teacher education program. It is necessary that pre-service elementary teachers supplement the lacking tasks such as qualitative reasoning and distinction between proportional situation and non-proportional situation. Finally, It is suggested to preform the future research on teachers' errors and mis-conceptions of proportional reasoning.

An Analysis of the Arithmetical Thinking Levels of the Students in 5th Grade (초등학교 5학년의 산술적 사고 수준 분석)

  • Since arithmetic is the foundation of school mathematics, it needs to be taught meaningfully in the direction of improving arithmetical thinking levels of students beyond the fluency of computing skills. Therefore, in this study, the arithmetical thinking levels of 100 students in 5th grade were analyzed by applying the arithmetical thinking level test. As a result, 82 students were at 1st level and 15 students were at 2nd level of the arithmetical thinking. I analyzed the characteristics of arithmetical thinking and types of errors and misconceptions made by the students, and derived some didactical implications for arithmetic education in elementary school mathematics.

Development of an Integrated EDI Document Generation System (통합적 EDI 문서생성 시스템의 개발)

  • There are increasing needs for an individual or enterprise to interchange documents electronically through communication network to enhance the efficiency of business, according to the rapid progress in the construction of communication network. UN has established and distributed the standards for electronic documents to facilitate rapid and accurate processing of business. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of an integrated system for processing documents that conform to the electronic document standards. This system consists of three subsystems, which are an EDI parser for checking syntax, an EDI document editor, and an EDI directory viewer for referencing syntax of an EDI document. Integrated usage of these tools can afford the composition of correct EDI documents more rapidly and conveniently.

Personality Types of Interior Design Students: Implication for CAD (실내디자인 학생의 성격 유형과 CAD 적성 및 태도의 연관성)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 실내디자인 학생들간에 나타나는 CAD에 대한 태도, 적성과 그들의 성격 유형간의 관련성을 알아보고 이들 성향이 CAD 교수법에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위한 것이다. 연구방법은 설문조사, 성격 유형 검사, CAD 성적, 그리고 교과목 성적을 통한 통계분석으로 이루어졌으며, 실험은 실내디자인 전공 3학년 학생 56명을 대상으로 실시되었다. 실험 실시 환경은 CAD가 디자인 도구로 쓰여지는 실내 디자인 실기 수업으로 구성되었으며, 정확한 실험 결과 분석을 위해 CAD 숙련도 성적과 종합 교과목 성적이 분리. 채점되었다. 연구 결과 학생들의 성격 유형은 의향형, 직관형, 느낌형, 및 판단형(ENEJ)을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 실험에 참여할 실내디자인 전공 학생들이 직관에 의해 사물을 인지하고, 문제 해결을 하는데 있어 감성에 의지하며, 체계적이고 조직적인 판단력을 가지고 있음을 의미한다. CAD에 대한 태도와 성격유형의 관계에서는 CAD가 유용하다고 생각한 학생들이 느낌형에 강한 선호도를 보였으며, CAD 적성과 성격 유형의 관계에서는 CAD 숙련도 성적이 높은 학생이 판단형에 강한 선호도를 나타내었다. 또한, CAD 성적이 뛰어난 학생이 종합 교과목 성적도 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 CAD 숙련도의 차이가 학생들의 전반적 디자인 능력에도 영향을 끼칠 수 있음을 시사한다. 결론적으로, 이 연구 결과는 학생들의 성격과 학습인지 성향이 컴퓨터 교육의 효율성에 영향을 미친다는 기존의 타 분야에서의 연구결과가 실내디자인 분야에도 타당성을 지님을 증명해주었으며, 실내디자인 수업에 있어 컴퓨터 관련 교과목의 교수법이 실내디자인 학생들의 성격 유형을 바탕으로 개발이 될 때 그 활용 효과를 극대화 할 수 있음을 제시하고 있다.

Elementary School Students' Views on the Nature of Science (과학의 본성에 대한 초등학생들의 견해)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary school students' views on the nature of science and to compare their views by gender. Participants were 159 sixth graders in Seoul. An instrument consisting of five multiple-choice items were developed on the bases of previous studies. At the end of each item, students were also asked to write their reason in details for selecting a specific option. The results indicated that the students' views on the nature of science, on the whole, were neither accurate nor adequate from the viewpoints of modern epistemology. On comparing their views by gender, however, no significant differences were found except the item concerning the 'nature of model'.

Development and Validation of a Teacher's Praise Disposition Scale (교사용 칭찬성향 검사도구 개발 및 타당화 검증)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a teacher's praise dispositions scale(TPDS). On the basis of a literature review of praise, we developed 19 Likert-type items to measure praise dispositions of elementary and secondary school teachers. The developed scale was examined with 342 teachers. With an exploratory factor analysis we extracted 3 sub-factors of the scale consisted of 16 items; frequency, intention, and standard of praise. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficients of sub-scales were from .60 to .85 and split-half reliabilities were from .60 to .84. A confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to assess the suitability of three components model. It was found that some correlation coefficients, not all of them, between gratitude disposition and praise disposition were statistically significant. It suggested that teachers'praise disposition scale is related to gratitude disposition but is not the same scale. In conclusion, TPDS could be used to measure praise dispositions of teachers. However, for further validity and reliability, repeated research is necessary.

Implementation and Conformance Test of DYMO Protocol for Ad-Hoc Networks (애드혹 네트워크를 위한 DYMO 프로토콜 구현 및 적합성 검증)

  • MANET routing protocols must support not only wireless networking without any relaying on network infrastructure, but also dynamic management of routing information caused by node mobility. Hence, they are one of important routing protocols for USN. Recently DYMO is regarded as a promising routing protocol for UMT because it is simple and easy to extend as well as it requires less networking load than others. In this paper, we design and implement DYMO routing protocol into various operation systems. Also, we develop a DYMO conformance test tool to evaluate our implementations.

A Study on the Development and Measurement of Environmental Sensitivity among Middle School Environmental Class (환경감수성 측정을 위한 검사 도구 개발과 이를 이용한 환경감수성 측정 - 중등학교 환경반을 대상으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the environmental sensitivity(ES) measurement instrument and to apply for middle school students. The questionnaire was developed to evaluate ES. The developed questionnaire consists of 15 items in 5 categories. Each item of the instrument was developed through the conceptional analysis of the definition of ES. The 5 categories included natural environment, activity at natural environment, artificial environment, environmental pollution, environmental destruction. Data for this study were collected from 397 middle school students including 46 environmental class and 351 non-environmental class students. It was found that the developed instrument to measure ES was valid and reliable. Reliability coefficient, Cronbach $\alpha$ was 0.75. Using the developed instrument of ES, the ES was measured for the students of experimental group to which a inqury-based EE model was applied. The result was that the effect of ES of the students of the experimental group was not statistically significant. Futher research is needed related to the EE model based on the inquiry learning model and measurement of environmental sensitivity.

  • 테크놀로지의 중요성이 증가함에 따라 다양한 영역에 테크놀로지가 활용되고 있다. 교육에서도 효과적인 학습을 촉진하기 위하여 테크놀로지를 도입하고 있다. 하지만 테크놀로지에 대한 교사의 지식 부족으로 인하여 맹목적인 테크놀로지 활용이 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 TPACK 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있으며, 김성원과 이영준(2017)은 프로그래밍을 도입한 TPACK-P 교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. TPACK-P 교육 프로그램은 예비 교사의 Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK), Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) 발달에는 효과적이었지만, Technological Content Knowledge (TCK)에는 영향을 주지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 프로그래밍 기반 수업 사례 탐색 및 분석을 보완한 TPACK-P 교육 프로그램을 개선하였다. 개선한 TPACK-P 교육 프로그램이 예비 교사의 TPACK에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위하여, K 대학에 다니고 있는 예비 교사 20명을 대상으로 개선한 TPACK-P 교육 프로그램을 적용하였다. 예비 교사의 TPACK 변화를 살펴보기 위하여 박기철과 강성주(2014)의 TPACK 검사 도구를 사용하였다. 이러한 실험을 통하여 TPACK-P 교육 프로그램은 예비 교사의 TPACK 향상에 효과적인 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, TPACK의 모든 세부 영역의 발달에 효과적인 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 단일 집단을 대상으로 개선한 교육 프로그램을 적용하였다. 향후 연구에서는 대조군을 설정하고, TPACK-P 교육 프로그램이 예비교사의 TPACK에 미치는 영향을 비교 분석하여야 한다.

Development and Validation of a Scale to Measure Engineering Empathy (공학적 공감능력 검사도구 개발 및 타당화 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and validate an Engineering Empathy Instrument. Engineering empathy is defined as the ability that encompasses the following three qualities, a skill to interpret social issues and phenomenon that may occur in the process of interactions between human beings and engineering systems, a practical orientation that enables one to take stakeholders' perspectives to carry out an engineering project, and a professional way of being that acknowledges empathic skills and associated practice orientations. Based on this notion, we develop a scale to measure engineering empathy and have surveyed 429 engineering students. Evidence for the validity and reliability of the scale is presented. In conclusion, we find that engineering empathy can be measured and conceptualized as three domains: a Learnable Skill (ELS), a Practical Orientation (EPO), and a Professional Way (EPW). We also find that sophomores show the highest level of engineering empathy as compared with other graders. While students accumulate technical knowledge, their understanding about engineering in social and interpretational contexts gets weakened. This implies that engineering education necessarily emphasizes the impacts of engineering solutions in interpersonal, societal, technologies, and environmental contexts.
