Polyamide derived from azo compound of o-amino phenol coupled with acetyl acetone, maleic anhydride acid and p-phenylene diamine were prepared. The prepared polyamide (PA) was refluxed with metal salts of transition metal ions include, $Co^{+2},\;Cr^{+2},\;Ni^{+2},\;Cu^{+2},\;Zn^{+2},\;Cd^{+2}$ and $Fe^{+3}$ in dimethyl formamide (DMF) in different molar ratios. These complexes were characterized and identified by elemental and thermal analysis, IR, 1H NMR spectra. The data showed that PA ligand coordinates with metal ions in abidentate manner through donating N=N and O-H groups. The metal ions are surrounded by coordinated water molecules and anions to establish the geometrical structure of the complexes. The thermal analysis degradation at different temperatures explained the weight loss of hydrated water and the decompositions of complexes until a constant weight loss of metal oxides is obtained.
This study was carried out to investigate the antioxidant activity of the water extract from Coptis chinensis Franch. Coptis chinensis Franch. exhibited antioxidative activity at all concentration tested. The extract was as good as antioxidative action of the synthetic antioxidant, butylated hydroxytoluene and ascorbic acid; Also, the one was superior to that of natural antioxidant, $\alpha$ -tocopherol. With heavy metal ions (Fe3+, Zn2+) present, Coptis chinensis Franch. showed strong antioxidative effect.
Field water qualities (temperature, pH, Eh, EC, DO) was monitored by 6 times March to September 2009 on background water (BW) and acid mine drainage (AMD0, AMD1, AMD2 and AMD3 points), and flow rate was measured on AMD0 point. Acid mine drainage flowed out from abandoned Ilgwang mine were high acid waters that lower than pH 3, and Eh component was ranged 400 to 600 mV. EC measured on acid mine drainage were higher over 10 times than background water, DO component was increased by reaction on the air during the water flow from AMD0 point to AMD4 point. Heavy metal concentrations in acid mine drainage were ordered Fe > Cu > Zn > Mn > As > Cd, and Fe concentration was highest for 81.870~474.30 mg/L. Monitoring periods measured maximum concentrations of heavy metals were May for As and Cd, June for Fe, July for Cu, Zn and Mn. The periods measured minimum concentrations were monitored April for Cd and Mn, September for Fe, Cu, Zn and As. Discharge mass of heavy metal components were calculated 53.44 kg for Fe, 6.25 kg for Cu, 5.26 kg for Zn, 2.13 kg for Mn, 0.14 kg for As and 0.04 kg for Cd, respectively. Total discharge mass of heavy metal components were calculated 67.26 kg for 1 day, and Fe component was taken 79% of total mass.
A selective method for the determination of iron(III) ion with a sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) modified glassy carbon electrode was proposed. It was based on the electrostatic attraction and complexation of the SDS modifier, $(DS^-)_n-Fe^{3+}$. The determination of iron(III) ion was performed by a differential pulse voltammetry(DPV), and the reduction peak potential of $(DS^-)_n-Fe^{3+}$ was +0.466(${\pm}0.002$)V vs. Ag/AgCl. For the determination of iron(III) ion, a linear calibration curve was obtained within the iron(III) ion concentration range of $0.50{\times}10^{-5}{\sim}10{\times}10^{-5}mol/L$, and the detection limit was $0.14{\times}10^{-5}mol/L$. $Cu^{2+}$, $Ni^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$, $Pb^{2+}$, $Zn^{2+}$, and $Mn^{2+}$ showed little or no effect on the determination of iron(III) ion, respectively. But, ion such as each $CN^- $ and $SCN^-$ interfered seriously.
The methods of separation and recovery of rare earth elements in monazite sand have been studied by the ion exchange chromatography. Both of cation and anion exchange resin were used as ion exchange resins and the solutions of EDTA, DTPA, IMDA and Ln-EDTA were used as eluents. The H+, Zn2+, Fe3+, Al3+, Cu2+, and NH4+ forms of cation exchange resin were used as retaining ions. Ln-EDTA solution was loaded on the EDTA form of anion exchange resin and separated. The Ln-EDTA solution was also used as an eluent for a selective separation of one element from the rare earth mixture solution. The size effects of resin column, the elution mechanism for the various elution types and the separation of a large amount of rare earths were studied.
With aids of square wave voltammetry (SWV) the redox behavior for various combination of polyvalent ions (Sb+Fe, Sb+Zn, Sb+Ce+Ti+Zn) was investigated in alkali-alkaline earth-silica CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) glass melts. The current-potential curve so called voltammogram was produced at temperature range of 1400 to $1000^{\circ}C$ under the scanned potential between 0 and -800 mV at 100 Hz. In the case of the Sb+Fe and Sb+Zn doped melts, peak for $Sb^{3+}/Sb^0$ shown voltammogram was shifted to negative direction comparing to the only Sb doped melts. However, according to voltammogram of Sb+Ce+Ti+Zn doped melt, Ti and Ce except Zn had hardly any influence on the redox reaction of Sb. Based on the temperature dependence of the peak potential, standard enthalpy (${\Delta}H^0$) and standard entropy (${\Delta}S^0$) for the reduction of $Fe^{3+}$ to $Fe^{2+}$, $Sb^{3+}$ to $Sb^0$, $Zn^{2+}$ to $Zn^0$ and $Ti^{2+}$ to $Ti^0$ in each polyvalent ion combination of CRT glass melts were calculated.
In this study, the cellulase of Monochamus saltuarius (MsGHF45) gene was introduced in Kluyveromyces lactis, successfully. The molecular weight of recombinant enzyme was determined by SDS-PAGE and western blotting. The enzymatic activity was confirmed by native-PAGE containing carboxymethyl cellulose as a substrate. The optimul pH and temperature of recombinant MsGHF45 was pH5 and $40^{\circ}C$. The barium ($Ba^{2+}$) and ferrous ($Fe^{2+}$) enhanced enzyme activity, and the mercuty ($Hg^{2+}$) inhibited its activity.

This pot experiment was conducted to find out the effects of boron application( $B_{0}$ ) ; control, B$_1$; 0.2, $B_2$; 2.0, $B_3$; 6.0, $B_4$; 15.0 boron me/pot) on the forage performance of pure and mixed cultures of orchardgrass and white clover. The fourth part was concerned with the changes in the contents of B, Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn in forages. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. The boron(B) contents of both forages and their differences among the B treatments generally decreased according to the cutting order. The B contents of white clover were somewhat lower in the $B_{0}$ than in the $B_2$. However, the differences in the yields between $B_{0}$ and $B_2$ were relatively great. It was probably caused by the latent B-deficiency in the $B_{0}$. Compared with white clover, the B contents of orchardgrass had relatively great differences between the $B_{0}$ and B$_2$, but both yields tended to be similar. 2. The contents of Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn in both forages were generally different according to the forage species, whether it was a pure or mixed cultures, and additional fertilization. The effects of B application on their contents were different according to the micronutrients and above factors. 3. The Fe contents of white clover were lower in the $B_{0}$ and $B_4$ than in the$ B_2$. It tended to be related to the weak growth of roots and low yields in the $B_{0}$ and $B_2$. However, there were not consistent in the changes of contents of Mn, Cu, and Zn by the rates of B application. 4. The effects of B application on the total ion concentrations of Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn were not consistent in both forages. However, the concentrations were generally affected by the changes in the contents of Mn and Zn. The concentrations of white clover were higher in a pure than in mixed culture.
A research for the recovery of the metal with high purity from the waste tin plating solution was carried out. First, tin plating waste solution was tested to remove the organic substances and metallic impurities such as Fe, Zn, Na etc. using ion exchange resin having iminodiacetic functional groups (Lewatit TP 207). Second, the tin solution was purified to obtain the high purity tin solution using ion exchange resin having ethylhexyl-phosphate functional groups (Lewatit VPOC 1026). Finally, 99.98% of the high purity of tin metal can be recovered from the purified solution by cyclone type electrowinning method.

This pot experiment was conducted in order to find out the effects of application of combined micronutrients(T$_1$: control. T$_2$; Fe, T$_3$; Fe+Mn, T$_4$; Fe+Mn+Cu, T$_{5}$; Fe+Mn+Cu+Zn, T$_{6}$;Fe+Mn+Cu+Zn+Mo, T$_{7}$; Fe+Mn+Cu+Zn+Mo+B) on forage performance of pure and mixed cultures of orchardgrass and white clover The 2nd part was concerned with the changes in the forage yields and concurrence index. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. The effects of combined micronutrient applications on the forage yields were different according to the forage species, whether it was a pure or mixed cultures, and additional fertilization(especially N). The effects of them on the forage productivity and botanical composition were more obvious in white clover, especially in mixed culture, than in orchardgrass. By the significant role of B as a regulator, the yields of both forages were best in the T$_{7}$, respectively. 2. In the pure culture, the high yields of both forages were obtained by the T$_{7}$ and T$_2$, whereas the T$_{6}$ and T$_3$resulted in the low yields. The best yields of both forages were obtained by the T$_{7}$ with relatively optimum ratios among the micronutrients as follows; Fe/Mn/Cu/Zn, Fe/Mo, Mo/B, and ∑ cation/∑anion. It was observed the multiple interaction of Fe${\times}$Mn${\times}$Mo${\times}$B, and the significant role of B as a regulator. The effects of them on white clover were more distinct at no additional fertilization than at the additional fertilization(especially N). 3. In mixed culture, the optimum applications of them resulted in the positive increase of yield and botanical composition of white clover, whereas orchardgrass tended to be inversely except the T$_{7}$.X> 7/. 7/.
