  • Sodium arsenate and Yeonlyeonggobon-dan (nianlinggubendan) extract, a herbal restorative were treated p.o. 20mg/kg and 500mg/kg respectively and concurrently to rats, and examined the variation of the body weight and the accumulation of arsenic in organs. Yeonlyeonggobon-dan (nianlinggubendan) extract(YGD) resulted in the increase of body weight, and the increase ratio of body weight in arsenic-treated group was dropped but the group of concurrent administration with YGD showed significant recovery. The ratio of liver weight / body weight of arsenic-treated group increased but the group of concurrent administration with YGD showed significant decrease. The accumulation of arsenic in liver and kidney of arsenic-treated group increased but the group of concurrent administration with YGD showed significant decrease.

  • This study surveys the mechanical properties such as tensile and compressional properties to the weight reduction rate of PET fabrics with various weft linear densities, weft t.p.m. and desities. 18 kinds of plain and 12 kinds of satin weave fabrics were woven and processed with variation of weight reduction rate(0%, 12%, 25% and 30%) in dyeing and finishing processes. Tensile work, resilience and compressional work and resilience of these finished fabrics treated with different weight reduction rates were measured by KES-FB System and discussed with various wok linear densities, weft t.p.m., densities, and weight reduction rates.

  • decrease in efficiency due to cavity fluid fluctuation. The purpose of this study is to examine erosion aspect on the SS400 specimen by cavitation and the effect of impact pressure generated from the demolition of the cavity of ultrasonic vibrator horn in the marine sludge oil environment. The erosion damage of specimen was investigated mainly on weight loss, weight loss rate and maximum erosion rate with variation of the vibration amplitude of $50{\mu}m, 24{\mu}m$ as well as the change of space between transducer horn and specimen. The experimental results showed that as the space between ultrasonic vibrator horn and specimen disk increased, the weight loss and weight loss rate decreased and the values were larger in SFO than in SLO. These findings would help interpret the aspect of cavitation erosion damage in metallic materials of different operating environment and material characteristics.

  • In order to investigate the appropriate processing season of ark shell(Scapharca subcrenata) cultured at the south coast of Korea, the edible portions were determined for coefficient of fatness and yield of edible portion using specimens collected bimonthly from December 1994 to December 1995. The relationship between shell length(X) and total weight(Y) of S. subcrenata is shown as follows; Y=0.001608X2.5199. The relationship between total weight(X) and meat weight(Y) of S. subcrenata is shown as follows; Y= 0.3594X 0.5566(r=0.99). The relationship between total weight(X) and meat weight(Y) of S. subcrenata is shown as follows; Y=67.1647X+20.6370(r=0.99). The coefficient of fatness and yield of edible portion showed a marked bimonthly variation with a maximum in December and a minimum in August. The appropriate processing season of S. subcrenata would be in winter and spring, and not in summer and autumn season, the spawning season of the S. subcrenata.

  • This paper presents an inverter-driven induction motor used as the traction motor for a high speed drive system that is required safety, reliability and performance and so on, In the respect of traction motor design, it is mainly showed the weight reduction inclination and characteristic investigation due to V/f driving pattern variation of inverter. Particularly, the reduction of V/f ratio pattern effects on the weight of traction motor and badly on the increase of phase current of traction motor in starting point. This method of weight reduction design have to be reached the decision with not only motor but also the consideration of inverter system because of the heat capacity, weight and material cost of inverter according to the increase of current.

  • In the present study, the variation of settlement, pore water pressure and undrained shear strength through model tests were measured. Also, the variation of water content, unit weight and shear strength by the vane shear tests were observed. In this study, appropriate deposit time of construction equipments used in treatment of hydraulic fills is determined from the prediction curve of increased shear strength in dredged fills.

  • Furazolidone tablets were made of lactose and corn'starch as adjuvants by compression method. Six formulations were used with variation of lactose and starch contents. Dissolution, disintegration, content unifomity, hardness, and weight variation were examined for furazolidone tablets. Furazolidone tablets showed good results by the ratio of 4 : 1 or 3: 2 (lactose:starch), and the pressure of $2500kg/cm^2$.

  • This study investigated the variation in fruit characteristics between different triploid progenies derived from a cross between tetraploid and diploid grape cultivars, with the aim of developing high quality, labor-saving triploid grapes. No differences were found in fruit quality traits such as soluble solids content and titratable acidity, whereas significant variation was noted in cluster weight induced by a one-time application of GA3 (100 ppm) on the triploid progeny of different cross combinations. The cluster weight was higher in progeny obtained from 'Kyoho' ${\times}$ 'Sekirei' than for offspring derived from other cross combinations; deviation in the mean cluster weight was also small for 'Kyoho' ${\times}$ 'Sekirei' progeny. These results suggest that specific cross combinations, such as 'Kyoho' ${\times}$ 'Sekirei', can be used to efficiently breed new, labor-saving seedless grape cultivars.
