This paper presents a method of using virtual examples to improve the classification accuracy for data with nominal attributes. Most of the previous researches on virtual examples focused on data with numeric attributes, and they used domain-specific knowledge to generate useful virtual examples for a particularly targeted learning algorithm. Instead of using domain-specific knowledge, our method samples virtual examples from a naive Bayesian network constructed from the given training set. A sampled example is considered useful if it contributes to the increment of the network's conditional likelihood when added to the training set. A set of useful virtual examples can be collected by repeating this process of sampling followed by evaluation. Experiments have shown that the virtual examples collected this way.can help various learning algorithms to derive classifiers of improved accuracy.

Recently, there are a number of researches and developments for the personalized software platform for mobility based on SaaS. The platform requires an optimal virtual machine in order to satisfy the operating systems of various users for the software. In addition, the platform must guarantee the mobility of the users' working environments by supporting fast and secure services between internal and external networks in the platform operating systems. In order to verify the optimal behaviors of virtual machines for the platform, the performance of the virtual machines must be measured and analyzed in various perspectives. In the previous research, unfortunately, the performance of a virtual machine were conducted in the condition that a guest operating system was installed on the virtual machine and considered as a computer, by measuring the network traffic between the guest operating system and an external client operating system. This performance measurement was not suitable for a virtual machine for the platform since a number of different software must be handled in the virtual machine. In order to overcome this limitation, this paper presents a measurement method for network performance and proposes the most optimal virtual machine by the method.
MANET is a network composed itself because mobile nodes are connected wirelessly. It has been applied to various fields for group communication. However, the dynamic topology by the movement of the nodes causes routing failure frequently because it is difficult to maintain the position information of the nodes participating in the group communication. Also, it has a problem that network performance is decreased due to high overhead for managing information of member nodes. In this paper, we propose a multicast technique using location-based 2-tier virtual group that is flexible and reliable in management of member nodes. The network is composed of cellular zones and the virtual group is constructed using the location information of the nodes in the proposed technique. The virtual group management node is selected to minimize the overhead of location information management for member nodes in the virtual group. In order to improve the reliability for management of member nodes and multicast data transmission, it excludes the gateway node with low transfer rate when setting the route after the packet transmission rate of the member nodes is measured. The excellent performance of the proposed technique can be confirmed through comparative experiments with AMroute method and PAST-DM method.
A multi-user virtual reality system supports shared environments for concurrent accesses by multiple users. The performance of these systems depends heavily on the network environments. This paper experiments an effective network model for shared virtual environments. This model has a middle layer called groups placed between the server and its clients, and the tasks of server are distributed to these groups. Using groups solves some of the problems of existing systems such as lack of scalability, message overheads, and latency due to message passing among locally communicating entities in the virtual environment. Some experiments show lower overhead than existing distributed virtual environment systems in WAN as well as LAN environments. This model also supports a method that can be used to construct application specific network environments using message handler which allows user-defined message formats.
With the advent of communication technologies including electronic collaborative tools and conferencing systems provided over the Internet, virtual collaboration is becoming increasingly common in organizations. Virtual collaboration refers to an environment in which the people working together are interdependent in their tasks, share responsibility for outcomes, are geographically dispersed, and rely on mediated rather than face-to face, communication to produce an outcome. Research suggests that new sets of individual skill, knowledge, and ability (SKAs) are required to perform effectively in today's virtualized workplace, which is labeled as individual virtual competence. It is also argued that use of online social networking sites may influence not only individuals' daily lives but also their capability to manage their work-related relationships in organizations, which in turn leads to better performance. The existing research regarding (1) the relationship between virtual competence and task performance and (2) the relationship between online networking and task performance has been conducted based on different theoretical perspectives so that little is known about how online social networking and virtual competence interplay to predict individuals' task performance. To fill this gap, this study raises the following research questions: (1) What is the individual virtual competence required for better adjustment to the virtual collaboration environment? (2) How does online networking via diverse social network service sites influence individuals' task performance in organizations? (3) How do the joint effects of individual virtual competence and online networking influence task performance? To address these research questions, we first draw on the prior literature and derive four dimensions of individual virtual competence that are related with an individual's self-concept, knowledge and ability. Computer self-efficacy is defined as the extent to which an individual beliefs in his or her ability to use computer technology broadly. Remotework self-efficacy is defined as the extent to which an individual beliefs in his or her ability to work and perform joint tasks with others in virtual settings. Virtual media skill is defined as the degree of confidence of individuals to function in their work role without face-to-face interactions. Virtual social skill is an individual's skill level in using technologies to communicate in virtual settings to their full potential. It should be noted that the concept of virtual social skill is different from the self-efficacy and captures an individual's cognition-based ability to build social relationships with others in virtual settings. Next, we discuss how online networking influences both individual virtual competence and task performance based on the social network theory and the social learning theory. We argue that online networking may enhance individuals' capability in expanding their social networks with low costs. We also argue that online networking may enable individuals to learn the necessary skills regarding how they use technological functions, communicate with others, and share information and make social relations using the technical functions provided by electronic media, consequently increasing individual virtual competence. To examine the relationships among online networking, virtual competence, and task performance, we developed research models (the mediation, interaction, and additive models, respectively) by integrating the social network theory and the social learning theory. Using data from 112 employees of a virtualized company, we tested the proposed research models. The results of analysis partly support the mediation model in that online social networking positively influences individuals' computer self-efficacy, virtual social skill, and virtual media skill, which are key predictors of individuals' task performance. Furthermore, the results of the analysis partly support the interaction model in that the level of remotework self-efficacy moderates the relationship between online social networking and task performance. The results paint a picture of people adjusting to virtual collaboration that constrains and enables their task performance. This study contributes to research and practice. First, we suggest a shift of research focus to the individual level when examining virtual phenomena and theorize that online social networking can enhance individual virtual competence in some aspects. Second, we replicate and advance the prior competence literature by linking each component of virtual competence and objective task performance. The results of this study provide useful insights into how human resource responsibilities assess employees' weakness and strength when they organize virtualized groups or projects. Furthermore, it provides managers with insights into the kinds of development or training programs that they can engage in with their employees to advance their ability to undertake virtual work.

A traffic analysis on the Internet has an advantage for obtaining the characteristics of transferred packets. There were many studies to understand the characteristics of the Internet traffic with mathematical statistical approach. The approach of this study is different from previous studies. We first introduced a virtual network concept to present the Internet as a simplified mathematical model. It also represents each traffic flowing on the Internet as a parallel Gaussian channel on the virtual network. We suggest the optimal capacity of each parallel Gaussian channel using some related studies on the Gaussian channel model.
SNMP is a simple, application layer protocol and that is sending and receiving the management information among network devices. It exchanges the management information by the PDUs that have the management information names and values. Until now, network management is so inconvenience because of console-based management by using SNMP. This paper shows the Web-based SNMP network management system that is using the designed private MIB and GUI. In this paper, we have proposed a virtual SNMP agent supporting scalability of network management. With the virtual agent, large-scale network can be managed simply by trap filtering and hierarchical management.

In recent years, dense small cell network has been deployed to address the challenge that has resulted from the unprecendented growth of mobile data traffic and users. It has proven to be a cost efficeient solution to offload traffic from macro-cells. Software defined heterogeneous wireless network can decouple the control plane from the data plane. The control signal goes through the macro-cell while the data traffic can be offloaded by small cells. In this paper, we propose a framework for cell virtualization and user association in order to satisfy versatile requirements of multiple tenants. In the proposed framework, we propose an interference graph partioning based virtual-cell association and customized physical-cell association for multi-homed users in a software defined small cell network. The proposed user association scheme includes 3 steps: initialization, virtual-cell association and physical-cell association. Simulation results show that the proposed virtual-cell association outperforms the other schemes. For physical-cell association, the results on resource utilization and user fairness are examined for mobile users and infrastructure providers.

One of the main goals of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is to utilize the energy of sensor nodes effectively and maximize the network lifetime. Thus, this paper proposed a routing protocol for WSNs based on virtual force disturbing mobile Sink node (VFMSR). According to the number of sensor nodes in the cluster, the average energy and the centroid factor of the cluster, a new cluster head (CH) election fitness function was designed. At the same time, a hexagonal fixed-point moving trajectory model with the best radius was constructed, and the virtual force was introduced to interfere with it, so as to avoid the frequent propagation of sink node position information, and reduce the energy consumption of CH. Combined with the improved ant colony algorithm (ACA), the shortest transmission path to Sink node was constructed to reduce the energy consumption of long-distance data transmission of CHs. The simulation results showed that, compared with LEACH, EIP-LEACH, ANT-LEACH and MECA protocols, VFMSR protocol was superior to the existing routing protocols in terms of network energy consumption and network lifetime, and compared with LEACH protocol, the network lifetime was increased by more than three times.
