  • In the case of an unmanned aerial vehicle using a battery as a power source, there are restrictions in performing the mission because the battery capacity is limited. To extend the mission capability, it is important to minimize battery usage while the flight to the mission area. In addition, by using the battery usage prediction model, the possibility of mission completeness can be determined and it can be a criterion for selecting an emergent landing point in the mission planning stage. In this paper, we propose a battery usage prediction model considering as one of the environmental factors in the three-dimensional space. The required power is calculated according to the flight geometry of an unmanned aerial vehicle. True battery usage which is predicted from the required power is verified through the comparison with the battery usage prediction model. The optimal flight trajectory that minimizes battery usage is produced and compared with the shortest travel distance.

  • This studies aims to examine the factors that affect continuous usage reliability of social commerce users that has been really active recently based on using EDT (Expectation Disconfirmation Theory) and extended ECM (Expected confirmation Model). With a statistical analysis, this paper suggests a conceptual model, based on the empirical evidence from this study. The result reveal that perceived usage easiness has a positive effect on meeting the expected confirmation and satisfaction. As perceived quality, social influence and price appeared to reflect a positive effect on fulfilling expected confirmation. This implies that users consider perceived usage easiness, perceived quality, social influence and price important in using social commerce persistently and that as their expected confirmation fulfillment and satisfaction increase that leads to further rise in their future intended continuous usage.

  • Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been a basis model for testing technology use. Post researches of TAM have been conducted with the updating the TAM by adding new independent variables in order to increase the explanatory power of the model. However, the problem is that different independent variables have to be required to keep the explanatory power whenever adopting particular technology. This might reduce the generality of the research model. Thus in order to increase the generality of the model, this study reviewed the previous researches and collected the independent variables used, and regrouped them into three basic independent constructs. New research model was designed with three basic independent constructs with three constructs selected for the involuntary information technology usage environment. Finally, this study concluded that new technology acceptance model could be used to explain the use of new technology without any adding new particular independent variables.

  • The recent development of mobile devices, including smartphones has maximized the user's convenience. This phenomenon has triggered the specification and activation of mobile cloud service and transformed the user's information usage and communication means. Despite such development of new technology, there is little understanding of mobile cloud. Therefor, in order to help the understanding of the usage of mobile cloud computing technology, this study developed the research model based on the UTAUT (the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology) model. The proposed research model included five external determinants, such as Interoperability, Information Organization, Adequacy, Information Security and Context Awareness, along with the moderating effects of Job Relevance, and empirically proved their influence on the user's job performance. This study proved the research model by analyzing the data collected from 287 copies of survey with the structural equation modeling approach. The result showed that all determinants, except Information Security have positive impact on the usage of mobile cloud computing technology. Thus, this study can compliment the limitations of previous research, suggest a new direction to analyze the user's perspective in the related research on mobile cloud and build a theoretical foundation for the further development of mobile cloud.

  • This study aims to investigate the factors influencing followers' continuous usage intention of twitter based on Elaboration Likelihood Model. In particular, central route(information itself) and peripheral route(twitterian's trustworthiness) are tested to reveal which has a more influential role in effecting the continuous usage intention of power-twitter. Furthermore, this study tests the relationship of users' attitude and continuous usage intention. The results indicate that argument quality, accuracy(central route), source expertise and source trustworthiness (peripheral route) have an influence on attitude. However, trustworthy on central route is not significant. Argument quality, trustworthy, accuracy(central route) and source expertise(peripheral route) have an influence on perceived usefulness. But source trustworthiness on peripheral is not significant. Attitude has an influence on perceived usefulness, and attitude and perceived usefulness both have an influence on perceived usefulness. In conclusion, central route is more influential than peripheral route in forming a positive attitude towards arguments, which in turn leads to the perception of twitter's usefulness, and in the end brings the continuous usage intention of twitter.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the determinants of the intention of continued Instagram usage. For this study, we used a self-administered survey questionnaire in which all of the scales were adapted from the previous literature. In this paper, we introduce a research model that consists of three antecedents (perceived usefulness, perceived playfulness, and customer satisfaction) that were thought to cause the intention of continued Instagram usage. The data were collected from 150 Instagram users. In order to validate the proposed research model, we used the SmartPLS 2.0. We used a two-step approach, recommended by Anderson and Gerbing(1988), that comprises a measurement model and structural model. The results showed that two antecedent factors (perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness) had a significant impact on customer satisfaction, which then causes the intention of continued usage. This study highlights the importance of the moderating effect of gender. Based on the results, this study proposes useful implications for Instagram stakeholders.

  • As needs for telecommunications services diversify, an increasingly wide range of telecommunications services is becoming available in the market. Any subscriber can find a service to satisfy his/her telecommunication requirements and competition between providers to retain heavy users is increasing. Service price reductions are one retention strategy, although price reductions for one service can affect the individual-level usage for other services. Price reductions can also be imposed on a service provider by regulation. For these reasons, understanding how price reductions affect service usage is of growing importance to the telecommunications industry for purposes of pricing and tariff development. In this paper, we develop an individual-level usage model for telecommunications services and analyze the effects on usage of a price reduction. We apply the model to age-stratified aggregate traffic data for a Korean mobile telecommunication service provider. Finally, we develop a model to support a market segmentation and price reduction strategy.

  • This study proposed a novel model to investigate influential factors affecting the intention to continue using increasingly popular food delivery apps (FDAs). The proposed theoretical model is developed and validated to extend traditional technology acceptance and adoption theories by identifying several determinant factors that capture the unique context of FDAs continuous usage. Hypotheses were tested using a partial least square structural equation modeling approach (PLS-SEM) on data collected from 331 actual FDAs users during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results reveal that convenience, perceived compatibility, delivery experience, and online reviews significantly influence the continuous usage of FDAs. The findings also confirm the importance of continuous intention on the actual use of FDAs. The research model of this study explains 65% of variance in continuous intention and 47% in actual use. The insights provided by this study suggest fruitful directions for future research. They can also help FDAs companies, developers and marketers with strategies and tips for further development and growth by ensuring users' continuous usage of these platforms.

  • The more mobile technology evolves, the more users are trapped in mobile technology by being encouraging the replacement with state-of-the-art technology. However, the use of device is not entirely determined by technology's attributes itself. The meaning of smartness can be varied by 'how users accept and perceive immediate spatial perception from reality to mobile space' without recognizing the boundaries between them. This study focuses on the analysis of 'smart usage' for smartphone and this is verified the concept of 'smart usage' by the second-order measurement model. The result show that the concept organization of 'smart usage' had been differentiated and elicited by the six factors - 'multifunctional use readiness', 'administrative efficiency', 'embedded media', 'device connectivity', 'user-friendly optimization', and 'external connectivity(being connected). According to the conceptual factors, 'smart usage' can be explained in an individual's autonomous ability to control a mobile interface and to utilize a wide range of applications of smartphones.
