다문화가족지원센터 종사자의 가족영역 지원 사업 인식 및 가족생활주기별 다문화가족 프로그램 필요도에 관한 연구 (Multicultural Family Support Center Staff's Perceptions on Family Programs and Needs of Multicultural Family Programs based on the Family Life Cycle)

  • Multicultural Family Support Centers (MFSC) have provided five program areas including family, gender equality, human rights, social integration, and counseling since 2015. It is important to examine the MFSC staff's perceptions of the family programs and program needs for multicultural families to improve the effectiveness of these programs. In this study, we aim to explore the staff's perceptions of the family programs and to assess multicultural family program needs based on the family life cycle. A total of 130 MFSC staff were recruited through 128 MFSCs across Korea. Descriptive statistics were conducted for data analysis. Our findings revealed that MFSC staff have increasingly recognized that their target audiences are not only marriage immigrants and their families but also foreign workers' families and families from North Korea. In addition, the MFSC staff identified the importance of family programs instead of only programs for individual family members and multicultural families' different program needs based on their family life cycle. Contrary to the positive perception of the family programs, they described challenges of the family programs including a shortage of funds, difficulty recruiting family member combinations (e.g., couples, parent-child) for family programs, a lack of a program manual, and a heavy workload. This study provides insights into the family programs including their development and delivery.

  • In South Korea, hospital clothes for medical staff, which require high performance and functionality, are still regarded just as uniforms. Few researches have been made into the underwear for operating room staff, which is intended to protect medical staff against possible risks happening during an operation and allow them to do their job in an easy and comfortable manner. In order to present a new design of underwear for operating room staff at general hospitals in South Korea, an investigation was made into medical staff's preference for overseas brand samples, and it was found that they preferred to wear such clothes as are blue-colored, of a V-neck line, of a box style and has good absorptiveness and breathability. After developing the primary prototype and the conventional underwear for operating room staff at Hospital A, their appearances were evaluated, and it was found that the primary prototype was more favorably evaluated. After developing the secondary prototype, their preference for the colors and shapes was surveyed, and it was found that they preferred to wear No.6 blue colors and T/C materials. In conclusion, it is considered that a systematic research need be conducted into the designs of various hospital clothes, whose roles and functions are subdivided, including the underwear for operating room staff developed in this research.

수간호사가 활용하는 근무성적 평정에 관한 조사연구 (A Survey on Head Nurses' Perceptions and Performances on Staff Evaluation)

  • This study was designed and carried out to identify the methodologies of the staff evaluation used by the headnurses and their perception on the purpose of the evaluations, and to measure the degree and type of perceived purpose and the degree of implementation of staff evaluation principles into preactice. A hundred and eleven from four general hospitals with 600 beds and over were conveniently sampled. Data were gathered from August 20, through September 10, 1994 ; demographic data of respondents and 'methodologies used for staff evaluation' by questionaires, level of 'perceived purposes of staff evaluation' and level of implementation of the 'principles of staff evaluation into practice' by Likert-type rating scales developed by the researcher. Raw and percentile scores and means were calculated and data were processed further by t-tests and ANOVA. Results are as follows ; 1. Traditional methodlogies : checklists(90.1%) and ranking methods(45.9%) revealed to be the two mostly prefered and used methods. 2. Of the 20 item-descriptions of the 'purpose of staff evaluation': 10 'control, evaluative' and 10 'non-control, developmental' the first(mean=3.19) to the ninth(mean=2.74) in rank order revealed to be the 'control, evaluative purpose', while the tenth in rank order revealed to be the first among the 'non-control, evaluative' item(mean-1.57). 3. Level of purpose of staff evaluation perceived as 'control ; evaluative'(mean=43.76, S.D.=5.01) revealed to be significantly(t=-3.86, p<.05) highter than 'non-control ; developmental'(mean=40.65, S.D.=3.41). 4. Level of implementation of 'staff evaluation principle into practice' revealed to be moderately high(mean=2.40).

컨조인트 분석을 이용한 학교아침급식 운영 속성 및 수준의 중요도 분석 (Assessing Relative Importance of Operational Factors for School Breakfast Program using Conjoint Analysis)

  • The purposes of this study were as follows. First is to compare the importance of operational factors to determine types of school breakfast program, and second is to do the preference analysis of operation-related people depending on the attributes and levels of the operation of school breakfast program. The questionnaires developed for this study were distributed to 134 school dietitians, 114 school foodservice officials at the educational board, 68 staff members of foodservice contractors and 493 parents. Statistical data analyses were performed using SPSS/WIN 12.0 for descriptive statistics and conjoint analysis. The conjoint design was applied to evaluate the hypothetical foodservice types. According to the analysis on the attributes and levels of the school breakfast operation, the relative importance of each attribute was as followsprice (36.30%), menu (29.60%), foodservice staff (22.54%), serving type (11.55%) to school dietitians, price (34.99%), menu (28.15%), foodservice staff (23.52%), serving type (13.35%) to school foodservice officials at the educational board, menu (30.55%), price (30.24%), foodservice staff (28.75%), serving type (10.47%) to staff members of foodservice contractors and price (36.34%), menu (29.73%), foodservice staff (21.01%), serving type (12.92%) to parents. The results of the conjoint analysis indicated that the school dietitians and school foodservice officials at the educational board preferred the school breakfast operation program with 3 traditional menus and 2 convenience menus per 5 day, $1{\sim}3$ foodservice staff, with a price range of $1501{\sim}2000won$, and tray serving. Staff members of foodservice contractors preferred the school breakfast operation program with 3 traditional menus and 2 convenience menus per 5 day, $1{\sim}3$ foodservice staff, with a price range of $2501{\sim}3000won$, and tray serving. Parents preferred the school breakfast operation with 5 traditional menus per 5 day, $6{\sim}7$ foodservice staff, with a price range of $2501{\sim}3000won$, and tray serving. About a half of school dietitians considered that elementary schools were appropriate for the suggested school breakfast operation program. But, 68.2% of school foodservice officials at the educational board, 69.1% of staff members of foodservice contractors, and 38.1% of parents considered high schools to be the suitable model. Therefore, it indicated the need to recognize the different opinions among breakfast operation-related people and take these factors into consideration in developing the school breakfast program.

Needs and Perceptions with Smart Technology Usage in the Elderly Care Facilities

  • The objective of this study is to identify the current state of usage and needs for Smart Technology (ST) in the elderly care facilities based on the point of view of staff members. Using survey via mails, data were analyzed with responses from top- or middle-level staff members working in 171 elderly care facilities located in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Chungcheongnam-do. Results indicated that the most needed smart technology was home automation, followed by nurse call system and health monitoring. The technology with the highest feasibility was health monitoring, followed by nurse call system and video phone. Staff members in higher positions working in the elderly care facilities had the highest expectation in improving the image of their facilities by using ST, while they had low expectation for the fact that ST may increase the locus of control of the elderly. This study implies that ST implementations may vary depending on the level of responsibility of staff members and ST how people responsible for the elderly care facilities subjectively perceive the ST.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the effects of the mother-medical staff partnership on mothers' condition management ability for children with chronic allergic diseases. Methods: A total of 109 Korean mothers caring for a child with a chronic allergic diseases, identified according to the allergic march, such as food allergy, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, and allergic asthma, were recruited from the pediatric department of a general hospital in Seoul through convenience sampling. Data were collected using structured self-reported questionnaires from August 1, 2017 to October 31, 2017. and analyzed by descriptive statistics and multiple regression using SPSS version 22.0. Results: The Mother-medical staff partnership had a statistically significant effect on mothers' condition management ability for children with chronic allergic diseases (p<.05). Among the general characteristics, satisfaction with nursing services had a statistically significant effect on mothers' condition management ability (p<.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, strategies to support children with chronic allergic diseases, as well as their caregivers, should consider the mother-medical staff partnership as part of a family-centered approach.

수간호사의 진성리더십과 동료지지가 간호사의 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Authentic Leadership and Coworker Support on the Psychological Well-being of Staff Nurses)

  • Purpose: This descriptive study investigated the effects of authentic leadership and coworker support on psychological well-being of staff nurses. Methods: The participants were 166 staff nurse working in university hospital located in D city. Data were collected from July 1 2017 to 31, 2017. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression. Results: The regression model that included demographics and coworker support explained about 40.0% of psychological well-being. Marital status, nurse satisfaction, turnover experience, and coworker support were the predictors of psychological well-being in staff nurses. Conclusion: Coworker support was an important predictor of the psychological well-being of staff nurse. Therefore, strategics to improve coworker support are needed to increase psychological well-being in the clinical field.

전공의와 전문의의 응급진료 형태에 대한 비교 연구 - 전공의 파업기간을 전후로 - (A Comparison of Patterns of Emergency Care Between Resident and Staff)

  • Background : The doctors' strike was not only a manmade disaster but also a chance to apply a new pattern of emergency medical service for patients. We hope to propose a new pattern of emergency medical service by comparing the patterns of emergency medical service given by resident and staff during the doctors' strike. Methods : We reviewed the medical records of patients who received emergency medical service in the Emergency Department(ED) of Deagu Catholic University Hospital during 3 days a week prior to the residents' strike (July 21-23, 2000) with those of patients receiving emergency medical service during the first 3 days of the residents' strike (July 28-30, 2000). We evaluated the patient's severity, the cause of the ED visit, the performance on the laboratory study, ECG, and radiological study, the disposition, and the length of ED stay. Also, we compared the collected data by presenting doctor and by patient's severity. Results : The staff performed fewer tests admitted fewer emergent and non-emergent patients than the residents. Also, the length of ED stay was shorter in both the emergent (212.76 vs. 321.40 minutes) and the non-emergent groups (117.68 vs. 171.39 minutes) for patients presenting to staff. Conclusion : It is desirable that emergency medical service is given by staff, not by resident.

일부 병원종사자의 식행동과 주관적 중대 구강병과의 연관성 (The associations between dietary behavior and subjective measurements of serious dental diseases in nursing home staff)

  • Objectives : The objective of this study is to determine the associations between dietary behaviour and subjective measurements of dental caries and periodontal disease in a cohort of nursing home staff. Methods : A self-reported survey was carried out in 280 nursing home staff in Jeollabukdo Province, Korea. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Version 19.0 program. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the effects of dietary behavior and food intake on subjective measurements of the two serious dental diseases. Results : The irregular meal tended to increase dietary imbalance and periodontal diseases in the nursing staff. For example, it had influences on the imbalance of sugar, vegetable, and safood intake. Conclusions : It is important to take regular meal because irregular eating behavior tended to increase dietary imbalance and periodontal diseases in the nursing staff.

교수학습지원센터 실무자의 직무역량 탐색 (Exploring on the job competence of the staff in center for teaching and learning)

  • 본 논문은 대학의 교수학습지원센터에서 근무하고 있는 실무자에게 요구되는 직무역량이 무엇인가를 밝히고, 현업에 종사하고 있는 실무자들이 바라는 요구사항을 알아보고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 실무자의 직무수행 역량 요인은 관련 문헌 검토를 통해 규명하였다. 이들 직무역량을 기초로 하여 대전 충남지역의 교수학습지원센터 실무자들을 대상으로 직무수행 역량 요구도를 조사하였다. 이 연구 결과에 의하면, 실무자에 요구되는 직무역량은 기초역량, 기획 분석역량, 프로젝트 운영관리역량, 평가역량 등으로 나타났다. 각각의 직무 역량에서 실무자가 지각하는 가장 높은 요인은 다음과 같다. 기초역량에서는 변화와 혁신의 태도 요인이 가장 높았으며, 기획 분석 역량에서는 수업분석 및 컨설팅, 운영관리역량에서는 인력관리 그리고 평가역량에서는 매체효과성평가 요인이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 교수학습지원센터의 활성화를 위해서는 교수학습지원센터 프로그램 운영을 지원할 수 있는 전문가 풀을 구성하고, 교수학습지원센터 실무자의 전문성 향상을 위한 역량 교육 프로그램을 기획하고 지원할 필요가 있다.
