  • In two-stage single-phase inverters, inherent double line frequency component is present at both input and output of the front-end converter. Generally large electrolytic capacitors are required to eliminate the ripple. It is well known that the low frequency ripple shortens the lifespan of the capacitor hence the system reliability. However, the ripple can hardly be eliminated without the hardware combined with an energy storage device or a certain control algorithm. In this paper, a novel power-decoupling control method is proposed to eliminate the double line frequency ripple at the front-end converter of the DC/AC power conversion system. The proposed control algorithm is composed of two loop, ripple rejection loop and average voltage control loop and no extra hardware is required. In addition, it does not require any information from the phase-locked-loop (PLL) of the inverter and hence it is independent of the inverter control. In order to prove the validity and feasibility of the proposed algorithm a 5kW Dual Active Bridge DC/DC converter and a single-phase inverter are implemented, and experimental results are presented.

  • In this paper, a new fully digital control method for UPS inverter, which is based on the double control loop such as the outer voltage control loop and inner current control loop, is proposed. In the proposed control system, overshoots and oscillations due to the computation time-delay are compensated by explicit incorporation of the time-delay in the current control loop transfer function. The inner current control loop is adopted by an Internal model controller The Internal model controller is designed to a second order deadbeat reference-to-output response which means that its response reaches the reference in two sampling time including computational time-delays. The outer voltage control loop employing P-Resonance controller is proposed. The resonance controller has an infinite gain at resonant frequency, and the resonant frequency is set to the fundamental frequency of the reference voltage in this paper. Thus the outer voltage control loop causes no steady state error as regard to both magnitude and phase. The effectiveness of the proposed control system has been verified by the simulation and experimental results respectively.

  • The $H_{\infty}$ approach, adopted in this paper, is based on loop shaping using a normalized coprime factor combined with a field-oriented control to control induction motor. We develop two loops. The first one, the inner loop, controls the stator current by $H{\infty}$ controller in order to obtain good performance. The second loop, the outer one, guarantees stability and tracking performance of speed and rotor flux using a proportional integral controller. When the rotor flux cannot be measured, we introduce a flux observer to estimate the rotor flux. Simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the effectiveness and the good performance of this control technique.

  • In this paper an ANFIS(Adativo Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System)- based fault detection and diagnosis for a closed loop control system is proposed. The proposed diagnostic system contains two ANFIS. One is run as a parallel model within the model in closed loop control(MCL) and the other is run as a series-parallel model within the process in closed loop(PCL) for the generation of relevant symptoms for fault diagnosis. These symptoms are further processed by another classification logic with simple rules and neural network for process and controller fault diagnosis. Experimental results for a DC shunt motor control system illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed diagnostic scheme.

  • This paper presents a new algorithm for the closed-loop $H_{\infty}$ control of a class of singularly perturbed nonlinear systems with an exogenous disturbance, using the successive Galerkin approximation (SGA). The singularly perturbed nonlinear system is decomposed into two subsystems of a slow-time scale and a fast-time scale in the spirit of the general theory of singular perturbation. Two $H_{\infty}$ control laws are obtained to each subsystem by using the SGA method. The composite control law that consists of two $H_{\infty}$ control laws of each subsystem is designed. One of the purposes of this paper is to design the closed-loop $H_{\infty}$ composite control law for the singularly perturbed nonlinear systems via the SGA method. The other is to reduce the computational complexity when the SGA method is applied to the high order systems.

  • An integrated orbit and attitude control algorithm for satellite formation flying was developed, and an integrated orbit and attitude software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulator was also developed to test and verify the integrated control algorithm. The integrated algorithm includes state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) control algorithm and PD feedback control algorithm as orbit and attitude controller respectively and configures the two algorithms with an integrating effect. The integrated SIL simulator largely comprises an orbit SIL simulator for orbit determination and control, and attitude SIL simulator for attitude determination and control. The two SIL simulators were designed considering the performance and characteristics of related hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators and were combined into the integrated SIL simulator. To verify the developed integrated SIL simulator with the integrated control algorithm, an orbit simulation and integrated orbit and attitude simulation were performed for a formation reconfiguration scenario using the orbit SIL simulator and the integrated SIL simulator, respectively. Then, the two simulation results were compared and analyzed with each other. As a result, the user satellite in both simulations achieved successful formation reconfiguration, and the results of the integrated simulation were closer to those of actual satellite than the orbit simulation. The integrated orbit and attitude control algorithm verified in this study enables us to perform more realistic orbit control for satellite formation flying. In addition, the integrated orbit and attitude SIL simulator is able to provide the environment of easy test and verification not only for the existing diverse orbit or attitude control algorithms but also for integrated orbit and attitude control algorithms.

  • We propose a new design method for a generalized predictive control (GPC) system based on the parametrization of two-degree-of freedom control systems. The objective is to design the GPC system which guarantees the stability of the control system for a perturbed plant. The design procedure of our proposed method consists of three steps. First, we design a basic controller for a nominal plant using the LQG method and parametrize a whole control system. Next, we identify the deviation between the perturbed plant and the nominal one using a closed-loop identification method and design a free parameter of parametrization to stabilize the closed-loop system. Finally, we design a feedforward controller so as to incorporate GPC technique into our controller structure. A numerical example is presented to show the effectiveness of our proposed method.

  • This paper presents parallel operation and control loop design of ZVT(Zero Voltage Transition) Full Bridge DC/DC Converter. At parallel operation of ZVT Full Bridge Converter, dynamic current shared inductor devides the same current of unit converter and ZVT circuit and aids to high efficiency in the system. Base on the modeling of ZVT. Full Bridge Converter, the control loop is designed using a simple two-pole, one-zero compensation circuit. To show the validity of the design procedures, the small signal analysis of the closed loop system and open loop system is carried out and the superiority of the dynamic characteristics is verified through the experiment with a 2kW, 50kHz prototype converter.

  • This paper is presents multivariable control scheme for industrial robot manipulators. The control scheme consists of two loops. The modeling error between linearized robot model and actual robot model is compensated in error compensation loop. The PID control loop is designed for pole assignment to stability of robot system and utilized for trajectory tracking. Alternatively computer simulation results are given for illustration purpose of suggested controller.
