A comparative study on the diagnosis of ELISA test and PPD test of the bovine tuberculosis (ELISA를 이용한 우결핵검사 결과에 대한 PPD 접종법 결과 분석 비교)

  • On the basis of the 2009 business plan, 20,394 Korean native cattle and beef cattle were carried examination of bovine tuberculosis by using ELISA technique from March to December. As a result, 66 cattle tested positive for tuberculosis and showed 0.32% positive ratio. Intradermal tuberculin test about 66 cases of ELISA positive cattle was carried out, and all of 66 cattle were confirmed as negative. However, when 7 PPD-positive cattle derived from slaughterhouse were tested by 20k ELISA kit and MS ELISA kit, 3 (2 suspect) cattle and 5 cattle showed positive results, respectively. As compared to the results of PPD test, the concordance rates were 43% (71% included suspect) with 20k ELISA kit and 71% with MS ELISA kit.

  • Under concentrational paste and dilute suspension systems, we have been tested the effects in the dosage of two superplasticizers [naphtalenic(NSF) and polycarboxylic(NT-2)] which has been varied from 0 to 2.0 wt%, in both one case of cement Ⅱ-anhydrite and fly ash itself and the other case that cement has been substituted 10wt% to Ⅱ-anhydrite and fly ash. The result of tested zeta potential tells that zeta potential values increase in addition to increasing of the NSF dosage. And it's effect was high in case of fly ash. We has confirmed the 10wt% substitution of Ⅱ -anhydrite and fly ash would be more effective than the cement itself in initial fluidity and stable fluidity. And in case of NT-2 and NSF, addition of 1.0wt% NT-2 improved the fluidity of paste cement more than that for NSF.

  • To establish testing method for ignition energy of explosive powders caused by electrostatic discharge, one testing method using a very small quantity of tested powders ( Frima ) was proposed, and the influence of discharge - limiting resistance connected in series into a capacitive discharge circuit on ignition energies of explosive powders was investigated using, as tested powders. As a result the minimum ignition energy was 9 mJ when discharge-limiting resistance was 300 k$\Omega$. The reason for the dependence of ignition energy on discharge-limiting resistance was thought to the difference in the type of electrostatic discharge, such as arc or glow discharge, from the observation of discharging wave forms.

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate effects of Astragali Radix(AR) and Armeniacae Semen(AS) on T-lymphocytes and peritoneal macrophages in mice. The proliferation of thymocytes and splenocytes were teated using macroplate-reader. The apoptosis and sub-population of T-lymphocytes were tested using a flow cytometer. Nitric oxide production was tested using a Griess reagents. The result were obtained as follow; 1. AR increased the proliferation of thymocytes and splenocytes. 2. AS decreased the proliferation of thymocytes and splenocytes. 3. AR and AS decreased No production fron peritoneal macrophages 4. AR and AS were accelerate T-lymphocytes apoptosis. 5. AR and AS increased $T_C$ cells population, but decreased $T_H$ cells population of T-lymphocyte.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the collapse characteristics of widely used spot welded section members coated damping material Y1000 and to develop an analysis method for acquiring exact collapse loads and energy absorption ratio. Hat-shaped thin-walled members have the biggest energy absorbing capacity in a front-end collision. The sections were tested on quasi-static and impact loads. Specimens with two type thickness, width ratio and spot weld pitch on the flange have been tested in impact velocities(6.73n0sec and 7.54n1sec) which imitate a real-life car collision. As a result, it was developed the system for acquiring impact energy absorbing characteristics of structure united thin-walled member and damping materials.

  • For the treatment of arteriovenous malformations (AVM), we developed a new liquid embolic material and named it Embol. The material was pre-tested in an in vitro AVM model and tested in rete mirabile of pigs that is similar in structure with the AVM in human. We report on the construction of the in vitro AVM model, the pre-test results of Embol in the AVM model, and the animal test result in pig rete mirabile.

  • Military targets in SAR images are not distinguished easily unlike those in optical images, because targets are only dozens of pixels and they have many corner reflectors sensitive to the incidence angle of radar signals. Due to those problems, SAR image analysts have difficulties in recognizing military targets captured by SAR images. Furthermore, manual analysis cannot respond promptly enough to rapidly changing situations such as battle field. We need automated analysis to solve these problems. In this paper, we analyzed algorithms for prescreening of military targets in SAR images. We implemented some prescreening algorithms and tested the algorithms using SAR data. As a result, we will report performance of the tested prescreening algorithms.

  • To investigate effect of sericite on pilot Fourdrinier paper making for loading, with respectively 15% additive sericite on talc, we made newprint with TMP, and then tested sericite on talc, we made newprint with TMP, and then tested sericite and talc abrasion, physical and strength properites of the paper. Consequently, as a loading materials, sericite had outstanding properties different from talc from the result of this paper; 1. Sericite was a good loading materials because the quantity of abrasion was small. 2. Sericite had a good physical properties of Foudrinier paper because brightness. ash content and water absorption were high. 3. Newsprint paper strengthes of additive talc were nigher than those of additive sericite.

Development and Validation of Korean Sleep Scale A (수면측정 도구의 개발을 위한 연구)

  • The purpose of study was to develop and validate Korean Sleep Scale A which can be easily administrated by nurses for a wide range of adult subjects. Dimensions of sleep concept were derived by literature review. Previously developed sleep sclaes were also analyzed in order to develop scale items. The Korean sleep scale A was structured as a 15 item, 4 point likert type scale. The Scale was tested an 298 female and male adult subjects after pilottest and content validation. The results showed reliability by internal consistency of Cronbach's α=.75 Construct validity was tested by factor analysis and known group technique. Factor analysis showed 4 factors-sleep pattern, sleep evaluation, sleep result, and cause of sleep disturbance. These four factors explained 55.9% of total variance. Correlations between factors ranged from .15-.32. There was correlation among Korean Sleep ScaleA score, Verran and Snyder-Halpern(VSH) Sleep Scale score, and sleep satisfaction scale score, r=.71(p=.00), r=.51(p=.03), respectively, These study results partially support reliability, construct validity, and criterion related validity of Korean Sleep Scale A. Further validation study is required with other subjects and other settings.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the chemical resistance of polymer powder-modified mortars with special accelerator component. Polymer powder-modified mortars with the accelerator are prepared with various polymer-binder ratios, and tested for flexural and compressive strengths and mass change. Chemicals resistance was tested by dealing with $10\%$ HCl and $5\%\;H_2SO_4$ aqueous solution. As a result, the weight reduction ratio of the mortars decreased with increasing polymer-binder ratio. However, in the viewpoint of strength reduction by chemical attacks, the maximum chemical resistance of the mortars was shown at a polymer-binder ratio of $5\%$.
