The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between teamwork and job satisfaction in team leadership behavior of SMEs. For this study, the survey data of 158 SME employees in the Seoul metropolitan area were analyzed by structural equation modeling. The results of the study are as follows. Team leadership behavior had a significant effect on teamwork. Teamwork was found to have a positive effect on job satisfaction. Therefore, this study identified ways to enhance competitiveness and stimulate team leadership behavior by cultivating team leadership behavior and teamwork competencies in accordance with the strategies of SMEs. It can also contribute to the development and strategy formulation and management of team leadership competencies to improve performance in SMEs.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of issue leadership by sales managers on sales team performance, while examining the mediating role of team adaptive sales behavior and the moderating effect of team-member exchange (TMX). Data was collected from 125 sales teams, and both independent and dependent variables were measured with a time difference of two months using responses from sales managers and team members. The empirical analysis revealed several important findings. Firstly, the study found that issue leadership had a significant positive effect on sales team performance. Secondly, team adaptive sales behavior was found to partially mediate the relationship between issue leadership and sales team performance. Lastly, the study revealed that TMX moderated the relationship between issue leadership and sales team performance. These findings have significant academic and practical implications. Firstly, the study demonstrates the effectiveness of issue leadership as a sales leadership style in the B2C industry. Secondly, it highlights the importance of team adaptive sales behavior as a mechanism that mediates the relationship between issue leadership and sales team performance. Lastly, it underscores the significance of TMX as a situational factor that moderates the relationship between issue leadership and sales team performance. In practice, the results suggest that organizations should focus on developing issue leaders, fostering creative sales behavior at the team level, and activating social exchange within sales teams to enhance sales team performance.
As the MZ generation, who values work-life balance, became a member of the organization, leader-oriented leadership centered on goal achievement and company profit made it difficult to achieve good results in the organization in the mid-to long-term. The company must strengthen the leadership that can be helpful for the self-leadership where the members of the organization move on their own and the organizational culture that enhances the employees' job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Therefore, this study analyzed the effect of the team leader's servant leadership on the team member's self-leadership and organizational effectiveness. In addition, it was studied whether the executive officer's emotional leadership interacted with the team leader's servant leadership and had a moderating effect on the team member's self-leadership. Also, the difference in path coefficient between the MZ generation and the non-MZ generation was verified. To this end, the research model was statistically verified using the PLS (Partial Least Square) structural equation. A survey was collected from 357 team members among office workers online. As a result of the analysis, the team leader's servant leadership had a significant effect on organizational effectiveness and team member's self-leadership. Also, in the relationship between the team leader's servant leadership and the team member's self-leadership, the emotional leadership of the executive officer had a positive (+) moderating effect. The MZ generation differed from the non-MZ generation in the path where the team leader's servant leadership positively affected the self-leadership of the team member and the path where the team leader's self-leadership had a mediating effect between the team leader's servant leadership and organizational effectiveness. The results of this study will suggest various theoretical and practical implications so that executive officers, team leaders, and team members within the company can develop leadership that increases organizational effectiveness in their respective positions.
With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, companies pursue innovation and opportunities, and corporate performance is also newly defined. As a result, the demand for new leadership is stronger. This paper conducted an empirical analysis to examine the role of team efficacy between entrepreneurial leadership and team performance. Using the SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 20.0 Statistics Package, 530 members in 79 work teams in China collected data was analyzed. The results showed that entrepreneurial leadership has a positive (+) effect on team performance, and team efficacy has a partial mediating effect between entrepreneurial leadership and team performance. This study deepened the understanding of entrepreneurial leadership and revealed the importance of entrepreneurial leadership in organizations. Future research can focus on multi-level research involving self-efficacy and individual entrepreneurial intent.
Purpose: Since the servant leadership of project managers is seemingly related to the project performance by influencing project team members' positive attitude and behavior, this study attempts to provide empirical evidence for a link between servant leadership and project performance. In addition, the present study investigates the mediating effects of customer satisfaction on the servant leadership-project performance relations. Methods: The data of servant leadership and project performance were collected from 185 project team members of a company providing IT service, and customer satisfaction data were collected from 100 project clients served by the company. Before testing the hypotheses, we calculated aggregation statistics(e.g., $r_{wg}$, ICC(1), and ICC(2)) to ensure appropriate aggregation of servant leadership scores. The statistics confirmed the use of 67 team level servant leadership scores with project performance and customer satisfaction. Results: The results show that servant leadership is significantly related to three project performance measures(perceptions of performance contribution and sales contribution, and actual project profits) in the current team-level sample. Results also indicate that the clients' perception of customer satisfaction shows a mediating effect in the process of servant leadership affecting sales contribution of project performance. Conclusion: The present study empirically confirms that servant leadership plays a major role in enhancing project performance on team level analysis. The results suggest that servant leadership increases customer satisfaction since the project managers serve and care for their team members which translate into effective customer service. Theoretical and practical implications are reviewed, and limitations of the study and suggestions for future research are addressed.
This study aims to find out how the leadership type of middle school soccer coach affects sport flow and team atmosphere, and the results are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the demographic characteristics, it was found that there was a significant difference in the peer relationship characteristics of the team atmosphere by the variable of age, and the mutual leadership by the variable of life period with coach. Second, as a result of examining the influence of middle school soccer coach's leadership type on sport flow, it was found that among leadership types, servant leadership affected all sub-factors of sport flow and transformational leadership affected behavioral flow. Third, as a result of examining the effect of middle school soccer coach's leadership type on team atmosphere, it was found that all leadership types had an effect on the role characteristics, which are the sub-factors of team atmosphere, servant leadership on the peer relationship characteristics, and transactional leadership on the team characteristics.
A virtual team consists of various members with a range of professional skills. An IT virtual team can confer such advantages as improving creativity and solving problems in e-business. However, virtual teams are less cohesive than off-line based teams, at least partly because they do not meet face-to-face to solve problems. If the cohesion of the members in a team is weak, overall performance can decrease. Therefore, this study seeks to understand the specific types of leadership needed to increase the cohesiveness of the members in a virtual team. Leadership is the most important factor for the successful operation of a virtual team. Leaders engage members with goals, and motivate them by creating positive relationships. This study describes the idealized influence of transformational leadership in which a leader directly engages members in a goal, and the role of participative goal setting in which members set their own goals. In addition, this research demonstrates the benefits of a positive attitude of a leader towards their team members and the influence of leader-member exchanges. If the cohesion of virtual teams is improved through specific leadership, the team members will be more committed to their teams and work, and the team's performance will improve. Furthermore, the successful operation of virtual teams will provide an opportunity for companies in e-business to gain a competitive advantage in the contemporary environment, where creativity is important.
The purpose of this study is to examine, at the team level, the relationship between shared leadership and team work engagement and team psychological capital which have rarely been introduced into academic leadership research in Korea. This study tested the impact of shared leadership on team work engagement and the mediating role of team psychological capital between the two variables. And also, this study tested moderating role of task characteristics between shared leadership and team psychological capital. A total of 421 employees of 100 teams in 16 companies in South Korea participated in this study. The SPSS 23.0 statistical program was used in this study to analyze and statistically process the collected survey data. The result showed that high level of shared leadership positively influence team work engagement and team PsyCap works as mediator in the relationship between shared leadership and team work engagement. This results means that shared leadership is a crucial factor to facilitate team's psychological capital toward team's work engagement. However, Task characteristics had no moderating effect between shared leadership and team PsyCap. Finally, theoretical and practical implications of the study results have been discussed along with limitations and future direction of the study.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between job characteristics and creativity. The role of transformational leadership is also examined. To identify the relationship between core team job characteristics and transformational leadership, an empirical survey was conducted through surveys of domestic distribution companies. Among the collected questionnaires, missing and insincere responses were excluded and 636 individuals of 107 teams were used for the SPSS 18 analysis. It was found that job meaningfulness was positively related to team creativity and transformational leadership also had a significant effect. Task feedback was shown to be an important factor on the motivation to perform tasks successfully. In the case of transformational leadership, this leadership style helped individuals overcome fear by providing support, sympathy, and consideration to create novel ideas. But, its effects were different on team creativity when it interacted with core job characteristics. Departments where creativity is highly emphasized within an organization are able to design job characteristics which fit the task at hand. Moreover, transformational leadership brings about different effects on team creativity when it interacts with job characteristics. The findings of this study suggest that organizations should consider characteristics of tasks and individuals as well when conducting education and training.
This study is aimed at suggesting the implications about the utility of team system and importance of leadership through the analysis of what influence of transformational leadership and self leadership has on team performance. This study used the LMX theory & social exchange theory arguing that exchange relation quality forms between organizational members, and situational theory stating that leadership suited for business environment should be displayed as the theoretical background of this research. This study, targeting 9 domestic energy-related public enterprises, proved the research hypotheses through regression analysis under SPSS 20.0 by using the effective data on 880 respondents from 166 teams in total. As a result of the research, a team leader's transformational leadership was found to have a positive influence on team performance, and the behaviour strategy, and cognitive strategy of self leadership were found to significantly modulate the relation between a team leader's transformational leadership and team performance, thus getting to adopt all of the initially-set research hypotheses. The salient point was that the effect was found to be much stronger from the group whose self leadership was low. What this research results imply is that if a team leader in team organization should look to it that team members themselves could be self-motivated by assigning goals, which can be put into practice with concern, to the members of a group whose self leadership is relatively low, team performance could improve more clearly than would otherwise be the case.
