This is a study on an instruction of estimation for error correction in the calculation with a computer or a calculator. The aim of this study is to survey a new aspect of calaulation teaching and the teaching strategy of estimation and finally to frame a new curriculum model of estimation instruction. This research required a year and the outcomes of the research can be listed as follows: 1. Social utilities of estimation were made clear, and a new trend of calculation teaching related to estimation instruction was shown. 2. The definition of estimation was given and actual examples of conducting an estimation among pupils in lower grades were given for them to have abundant experiences. 3. The ways of finding estimating values in fraction and decimal fraction were presented for the pupils to be able to conduct an estimation. 4. The following contents were given as a basic strategy for estimation. 1) Front-end strategy 2) Clustering strategy 3) Rounding strategy 4) Compatible numbers strategy 5) Special numbers strategy 5. In an instuction of estimation the meaning, method. and process of calculation and calculating algorithm were reviewed for the cultivation of children's creativity through promoting their basic skill, mathematical thinking and problem-solving ability. 6. The following contents were also covered as an estimation strategy for measurement 1) Calculating the sense of quantity on the size of unit. 2) Estimating the total quantity by frequent repetition of unit quantity. 3) Estimating the length and the volume by weighing. 4) Estimating unknown quantity based on the quatity already known. 5) Estimating the area by means of equivalent area transformation. 7. The ways of instructing mental computation were presented. 8. Reviews were made on the curricular and the textbook contents concerning estimation instructions both in Korea and Japan. and a new model of curriculum was devised with reference to estimation instruction data of the United States.
The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of astronomical STEAM program using co-teaching on self-directed learning attitude. For this purpose, we developed an astronomical STEAM program and applied it to elementary science gifted students. Thirty six, $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ grade elementary science gifted students were participated in this study in total having 16 students in experimental group and 20 students in control group. The results were described as follows. First, astronomical STEAM program using co-teaching was effective in improving self-directed learning attitude. Second, the program was effective in improving participants' openness to learning opportunities and problem-solving. Third, students were satisfied with the co-teaching that provided ample feedbacks and detailed explanations, and teachers perceived that co-teaching was helpful to overcome a lack of professional knowledge, and to solve difficulties of evaluation and preparing teaching materials for STEAM classes. With findings, we discussed implications for co-teaching of STEAM lessons to improve students' self-directed learning attitude at the end of paper.

The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of non-face-to-face classes conducted due to the COVID-19 crisis. In order to achieve this goal, a non-face-to-face class with flipped learning was applied in one subject of clothing major held at 'S' University in Cheongju, Korea. In addition, this study tried to analyze the differences between pre- and post-non-face-to-face classes in problem analysis ability, resource/information/technology literacy, convergent thinking ability as core competencies, and overall learning satisfaction. As a result, after participating in the non-face-to-face class in which the flipped learning was applied, the students recognized that their abilities improved in the three problem-solving competency sub-areas, and their overall learning satisfaction also increased. The effectiveness of non-face-to-face classes in the field of clothing and fashion has been mainly measured in fashion design and clothing construction courses. However, based on the results of this study, it can be suggested that non-face-to-face classes in a theory-oriented lecture-type class can be effective methods for improving students' core competencies such as problem-solving skills if teaching-learning methods such as flipped learning are applied. Therefore, the results of this study will be useful data for designing differentiated non-face-to-face class strategies in a theory-oriented lecture-type class to improve the core competencies of college students.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes in mathematical learning through applying STEAM education according to social needs for out-of-school youth. For this purpose, we developed a teaching and learning model and program for mathematics and music STEAM education, and we implemented and analyzed the changes of affective area and problem-solving strategies. The analysis results of characteristic in affective area are as follows: first, the activity-oriented class of mathematics and music STEAM education aroused interest in mathematics. Second, providing opportunities for mathematics and music STEAM education instilled a positive perception of the value of mathematics and STEAM education. Third, the autonomous communication-oriented learning environment of mathematics and music STEAM education improved confidence and motivation to learn in mathematics. The analysis results of the characteristic in problem-solving strategy are as follows: first, through the STEAM education with mathematics and music, a conceptual understanding of internally and externally dividing points was formed, and a given problem was expressed and solved in a formula. Second, the functional correspondence relationship was understood, and the given problem was described and solved with symbols associated with the function. The suggestions of the study are as follows: first, based on the teaching and learning model and results of this study, various STEAM education programs for out-of-school youth should be developed and expanded to foster future competencies and provide new changes for out-of-school youth. Second, it can be used for research on the development of teaching and learning materials for convergence elective subjects in the high school credit system by referring to the mathematics and music convergence STEAM program of this study. As the subjects and fields of STEAM education are diversified and organized, students in need of receiving educational opportunities will be reduced, and there will be a world where the name of out-of-school youth and alternative education will not be necessary. Therefore, it is expected that development of teaching and learning programs created by interest in education of out-of-school youth will be used as an innovative idea in school education to achieve a virtuous cycle.

The purpose of this study is to develop and implement cooperative consumption education programs using design thinking in middle school home economics education classes to understand the impact on students' cooperative problem solving competency. Accordingly, a cooperative consumption education program based on design thinking was developed according to the ADDIE model, and the evaluation was conducted on a total of 25 students. The results of the study were as follows. First, based on prior research, we developed a consumption education program based on D. school's design thinking process under the theme of 'Creating a Shared School' for the practice of cooperative consumption. As a result of expert validity verification of the teaching/learning course plan and workbook for the eight sessions, the average question was 4.72 (out of 5 points) and the average CVI was 0.93, indicating that the content validity and field suitability were excellent. Second, to summarize the results achieved from the implementation of the cooperative consumption education program, the pre-/post-test using the revised and supplemented cooperative problem-solving competency tool, and the open-ended survey, It was confirmed that the developed program had a significant effect on improving not only the students' knowledge and perceived necessity for cooperative consumption along with the awareness of practice, but also the cooperative problem-solving competency. As a follow-up study, we propose to expand the research to a wider audience, and to further conduct research and develop programs applied with design thinking in home economics curriculum and in consumer competency development. This study confirmed that cooperative consumption education programs using design thinking are effective in improving youth's cooperative problem-solving competency and is meaningful in that they developed consumption education programs under the theme of 'cooperative consumption' in response to changing consumer education needs.
Mathematics problem based learning(PBL), which has recently attracted much attention, is a teaching and learning method to increase mathematical ability and help learning mathematical concepts and principles through problem solving using students' mathematical prerequisite knowledge. In spite of such a quite attention, it is not easy to apply and practice PBL actually in school mathematics. Furthermore, the recent instructional situations or environments has focused on student's self construction of their learning and its process. Because of this reason, to whom is related to mathematics education including math teachers, investigation and recognition on the degree of students' acquisition of mathematical thinking skills and strategies(for example, inductive and deductive thinking, critical thinking, creative thinking) is an very important work. Thus, developing mathematical thinking skills is one of the most important goals of school mathematics. In particular, recently, connection or integration of one subject and the other subject in school is emphasized, and then mathematics might be one of the most important subjects to have a significant role to connect or integrate with other subjects. While considering the reason is that the ultimate goal of mathematics education is to pursue an enhancement of mathematical thinking ability through the enhancement of problem solving ability, this study aimed to implement basically what is the meaning of the integrated thinking ability in problem based learning theory in Mathematics. In addition, using historical materials, this study was to develop mathematical materials and a sample of a concrete instructional guideline for enhancing integrated thinking ability in problem based learning program.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a simulation module for teaching home health care and evaluate the applicability of the program to nursing students' practical training. Methods: The simulation module was developed based on the National League for Nursing Jeffries Simulation Theory. The theme of the developed scenario was teaching nasogastric tube feeding to the caregiver of patient with Parkinson disease. Participants were 61 nursing students who had learned tube feeding, and participated in the questionnaire survey after the simulation training. Results: The evaluation of simulation design showed the highest score on feedback/guided reflection, and was highly evaluated in the order of objectives/information, problem solving and fidelity. The educational practice of the simulation was highly evaluated in the order of active learning, high expectation and diversity of learning. The nursing students showed high satisfaction and self-confidence after the simulation education. Conclusion: We suggest that the developed simulation module can be applied to practical training for home health care. In the future, the change of self-efficacy, clinical judgment and performance ability of the students after the simulation education should be identified. Also, various simulation modules related to the community health nursing competencies should be continuously developed and verified.
The purpose of this study is to develop Project-Based Teaching-Learning materials for mathematically gifted students using a Fermat Point and apply the developed educational materials to practical classes, analyze, revise and correct them in order to make the materials be used in the field. I reached the conclusions as follows. First, Fermat Point is a good learning materials for mathematically gifted students. Second, when the students first meet the challenge of solving a problem, they observed, analyzed and speculated it with their prior knowledge. Third, students thought deductively and analogically in the process of drawing a conclusion based on observation. Fourth, students thought critically in the process of refuting the speculation. From the result of this study, the following suggestions can be supported. First, it is necessary to develop Teaching-Learning materials sustainedly for mathematically gifted students. Second, there needs a valuation criteria to analyze how learning materials were contributed to increase the mathematical ability. Third, there needs a follow up study about what characteristics of gifted students appeared.

The purpose of this study is to develop FVU, which enables teachers effectively to construct self-page on the screen, to reduce the size of file for teaching, and to correct many different kinds of event which was already made in the previous. The instrument used in the development of this Editor is UML(Unified Modeling Language), which is object-oriented methodology. The Authoring tool developed in this study is named FVU. The first page which is needed in class can be constructed by using VUEditor in FVU. Using VUEditor can get Instructional Syllabus exported into VUAuthor through Vector-transformation. Through this procedure, the size of image file comes to be reduced into forming low band width, which results in solving the problem of network traffic. Also, Instructor can create image, shape and text, and delete and correct errors or mistakes which make in the course of constructing materials for teaching. In conclusion, this VUEditor enables program designer to construct the first page, even without using such applied program as Image Tool and Power Point. This VUEditor makes instructor to make some contents for teaching easily.

Even though the increasing number of researches of school libraries have grown for the last 36 years, the diverse and practical problems of school libraries and teaching librarians have not been addressed to the proper solutions. This article presents an overview of the characteristics and tendency of researches using the method of systematical review in order to check the assumptions and research consequences of school libraries and teaching librarians. Results show that survey study reviewing or comparing certain cases is the most common types of research methods, and that the majority of studies that relied only on prior studies or secondary data from other sources to make their claims and rarely specify the five criteria validating study process and methodological reliability. Some research questions for future study including necessity of change in problem-solving perspective are provided.
