  • This paper shows the form of the optimal solution and how to minimize energy of train driving control using SA(simulated annealing). In this paper, we consider the case where a train is to be driven by automatic operation mode along a non-constant gradient, curve and with speed limits. Using the combinational optimal technique, SA, we constructed optimal train driving strategy.

  • This paper deals with the optimal dynamic dispatch problem owing to spinning-reserve and power-rate limits. Two computational modules are used in the solution of the problems. The first is an efficient dispatch module for the consideration of reasonable spinning-reserve requirements. The latter os the Lagrange multipliers adjusting module, which is satisfying the Kuhn-Tucker conditions for power-rate constraints. The proposed algorithm obtains very fast solution speed and maintains good accuracy from test examples.

  • A new method, so called MMA(Method of Moving Asymptotes) was applied to the optimization problems of non-linear functions and non-linear structures. In each step of the iterative process, tile MMA generates a strictly convex approximation subproblems and solves them by using the dual problems. The generation of these subproblems is controlled by so called 'moving asymptotes', which may both make no oscillation and speed up tile convergence rate of optimization process. By contrast in generalized dual function, the generated function by MMA is always explicit type. Both the objective and behaviour constraints which were approximated are optimized by dual function. As the results of some examples, it was found that this method is very effective to obtain the global solution for problems with many local solutions. Also it was found that MMA is a very effective approximate method using the original function and its 1st derivatives.

  • This paper provides an overview of Pakistan Railways scheduling and rescheduling. First of all, Pakistan Railways is introduced with its brief history and importance in this country. Assets of this network with passengers and freight using this are given. Current hope less situation is leading to privatization of this system as well as promoting short distance traveler to use road and Government efforts to retain is also presented. Train scheduling in Pakistan is being done manually, based on manual time distance graph preparation and resolution of conflicts based on manager's experience and ability. In Real-time management of this traffic Lahore head office is connected with six control stations in the Pakistan, decision for resolution of any disturbance is coordinated among them. It is recommended that computer aided tools must be developed for this system to help traffic managers and it is needed to invest on the segments to increase their speed limits which might attract passengers to use this mode of transportation with high priority.

Double Gate MOSFET Modeling Based on Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System for Nanoscale Circuit Simulation

  • As the conventional silicon metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) approaches its scaling limits, quantum mechanical effects are expected to become more and more important. Accurate quantum transport simulators are required to explore the essential device physics as a design aid. However, because of the complexity of the analysis, it has been necessary to simulate the quantum mechanical model with high speed and accuracy. In this paper, the modeling of double gate MOSFET based on an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is presented. The ANFIS model reduces the computational time while keeping the accuracy of physics-based models, like non-equilibrium Green's function formalism. Finally, we import the ANFIS model into the circuit simulator software as a subcircuit. The results show that the compact model based on ANFIS is an efficient tool for the simulation of nanoscale circuits.

  • Fracture mechanics approach can be severly hampered unless considerable detailed specific knowledge is available. The problem of railway wheel-rail system fatigue design is currently undertaken by using assumed conservative design procedures. However, although the failure rate is low, the consequences of any such failure can be far reaching. It has been demonstrated that the tools available for effective management have limits. In the present study, the safety evaluation based on fracture mechanics is carried out. The critical crack size and remaining lifetime are calculated on the wheel for high-speed train.

  • The paper is proposed maximum torque control of SynRM drive using learming mechanism-fuzzy neural network(LM-FNN) controller and artificial neural network(ANN). The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $^i{_d}$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to SynRM drive system controlled LM-FNN and ANN controller, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail. Also, this paper is proposed the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of the LM-FNN and ANN controller.

  • House load operation (HLO) is the Willy of a plant to continue to operate while completely separated from the transmission system. HLO capability is recently adopted as basic design requirement for nuclear power plants, since HLO capability increases the plant availability and power system reliability. However, HLO results in the voltage and frequency transients to motors and pumps. This paper presents the computer simulation results such as the transient speeds, voltages, and control system responses of turbine/g enerator during HLO. This paper also suggests the plant design features required for HLO capability and the transient speed/vlitage limits caused by HLO.

  • In this paper, we introduce the design and implementation of Information exchange technique among power system facilities and/or their monitoring systems based on Universal Description, Discovery and Integration Service and Simple Object Access Protocol. The rapid progresses in high speed network, 4G web language S/W and embedded H/W enabled faster and easier communications among electric power systems monitoring facilities. However, each facility or system has its own specific protocol like RS-232 and RS-486, which somewhat limits the capability of flexible information exchange among thor In this paper, we try to demonstrate the potential of utilizing the SOAP and UDDI services in exchanging the metadata and possibly high abstraction level informations among electric power facilities and/or their monitoring systems.
