터널의 내화성능 평가용 화재온도곡선과 화재모델별 내화시간에 대한 고찰 (A study on the deterministic temperature-time curves and required resistance times by fire model for assessment of fire resistance of tunnel structures)

  • 최근 전세계의 대형화재 사고이후, 터널안전에 관한 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 특히 실물 및 축소모형 실험에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되면서, 터널구조물에 대한 내화성능에도 많은 관심이 모아지고 있다. 이미 외국에서는 터널구조물의 내화성능에 대한 설계기준이나 권고안이 발표되고 있으나, 아직 국내에는 설계기준으로 마련되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 각 나라별 화재온도 (온도-시간) 곡선, 특히 ISO 834 표준온도곡선, HC곡선, RWS곡선, ZTV곡선, EBA곡선을 분석하여 국내의 도로, 지하철 및 철도터널의 내화성능 평가 기준에 적합한 화재특성을 도출하는데 있다.

A NEW APPROACH ON THE CURVATURE DEPENDENT ENERGY FOR ELASTIC CURVES IN A LIE GROUP

  • Elastica is known as classical curve that is a solution of variational problem, which minimize a thin inextensible wire's bending energy. Studies on elastica has been conducted in Euclidean space firstly, then it has been extended to Riemannian manifold by giving different characterizations. In this paper, we focus on energy of the elastic curve in a Lie group. We attepmt to compute its energy by using geometric description of the curvature and the torsion of the trajectory of the elastic curve of the trajectory of the moving particle in the Lie group. Finally, we also investigate the relation between energy of the elastic curve and energy of the same curve in Frenet vector fields in the Lie group.

ON TRANSLATION LENGTHS OF PSEUDO-ANOSOV MAPS ON THE CURVE GRAPH

  • We show that a pseudo-Anosov map constructed as a product of the large power of Dehn twists of two filling curves always has a geodesic axis on the curve graph of the surface. We also obtain estimates of the stable translation length of a pseudo-Anosov map, when two filling curves are replaced by multicurves. Three main applications of our theorem are the following: (a) determining which word realizes the minimal translation length on the curve graph within a specific class of words, (b) giving a new class of pseudo-Anosov maps optimizing the ratio of stable translation lengths on the curve graph to that on Teichmüller space, (c) giving a partial answer of how much power is needed for Dehn twists to generate right-angled Artin subgroup of the mapping class group.

  • MPEG-4 표준에서는 객체 단위의 부호화를 수행하기 위해 우선 자연영상으로부터 비디오 객체론 분리하는 영상분할(Segmentation) 기술이 필요하다. 영상분할 방법은 크게 자동 영상분할(Automatic Segment값ion)과 반자동 영상분할(Semi-automatic Segmentation)의 두 부류로 나눌 수 있다. 대부분의 자동 영상분할 방법은 비디오 객체의 명확한 모델을 수학적으로 제시하기 어려우므로 한 화면에서 개별 객체를 추출하기 어렵기 때문에 그 성능에 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 기하학적인 Active Contour를 이용한 반자동 영상분할 알고리즘을 제안한다. 매개변수 방식의 Active Contour와 달리, 기하학적인 Active Contour는 곡선의 변화론 Level Set 방법을 이용하여 기술하기 때문에 초기 곡선의 모양을 객체의 모양과 무관하게 그릴 수 있다. 평탄화된 영상으로부터 경계함수를 생성하기 위해 이진화된 3차원 확산 모델을 사용하여 LUV 벡터 공간에서 비등방형 확산을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 흐름 벡터장(Advection Vector Field)에서 곡선을 수축하고, 움직임 정보를 이용하여 곡선 확장하는 방법을 이용하여 동영상에서 객체를 분리하는 방법을 제안한다.

  • Subminifolds of Euclidean spaces have been studied by examining geodesics of the submanifolds viewed as curves of the ambient Euclidean spaces ([3], [7], [8], [9]). K.Sakamoto ([7]) studied submanifolds of Euclidean space whose geodesics are plane curves, which were called submanifolds with planar geodesics. And he completely calssified such submanifolds as either Blaschke manifolds or totally geodesic submanifolds. We now ask the following: If there is a point p of the given submanifold in Euclidean space such that every geodesic of the submanifold passing through p is a plane curve, how much can we say about the submanifold\ulcorner In the present paper, we study submanifolds of euclicean space with such property.

  • The canal surfaces foliated by pseudo spheres $\mathbb{S}_1^2$ along a space curve in Minkowski 3-space are studied. The geometric properties of such surfaces are shown by classifying the linear Weingarten canal surfaces, the developable, minimal and umbilical canal surfaces are discussed at the same time.

UTILITY OF DIGITAL COVERING THEORY

  • Various properties of digital covering spaces have been substantially used in studying digital homotopic properties of digital images. In particular, these are so related to the study of a digital fundamental group, a classification of digital images, an automorphism group of a digital covering space and so forth. The goal of the present paper, as a survey article, to speak out utility of digital covering theory. Besides, the present paper recalls that the papers [1, 4, 30] took their own approaches into the study of a digital fundamental group. For instance, they consider the digital fundamental group of the special digital image (X, 4), where X := $SC^{2,8}_4$ which is a simple closed 4-curve with eight elements in $Z^2$, as a group which is isomorphic to an infinite cyclic group such as (Z, +). In spite of this approach, they could not propose any digital topological tools to get the result. Namely, the papers [4, 30] consider a simple closed 4 or 8-curve to be a kind of simple closed curve from the viewpoint of a Hausdorff topological structure, i.e. a continuous analogue induced by an algebraic topological approach. However, in digital topology we need to develop a digital topological tool to calculate a digital fundamental group of a given digital space. Finally, the paper [9] firstly developed the notion of a digital covering space and further, the advanced and simplified version was proposed in [21]. Thus the present paper refers the history and the process of calculating a digital fundamental group by using various tools and some utilities of digital covering spaces. Furthermore, we deal with some parts of the preprint [11] which were not published in a journal (see Theorems 4.3 and 4.4). Finally, the paper suggests an efficient process of the calculation of digital fundamental groups of digital images.

DEEP-South: Asteroid Light-Curve Survey Using KMTNet

  • Variations in the brightness of asteroids are caused by their spins, irregular shapes and companions. Thus, in principle, the spin state and shape model of a single object or, a combined model of spins, shapes and mutual orbit of a multiple components can be constructed from the analysis of light curves obtained from the time-series photometry. Using ground- and space-based facilities, a number of time-series photometric observations of asteroids have been conducted to find the possible causes of their light variations. Nonetheless, only about 2% of the known asteroids have been confirmed for their rotation periods. Therefore, a follow-on systematic photometric survey of asteroids is essential. We started an asteroid light curve survey for this purpose using Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet) during 199 nights between the second half of 2019 and the first half of 2020. We monitored within a 2° × 14° region of the sky per each night with 25 min cadences. In order to observe as many asteroids as possible with a single exposure, we mostly focus on the ecliptic plane. In our survey, 25,925 asteroids were observed and about 8,000 of them were confirmed for their rotation periods. In addition, using KMTNet's 24-hour continuous monitoring, we collected many composite light curves of slow rotating asteroids that were rarely obtained with previous observations. In this presentation, we will introduce the typical light curves of asteroids obtained from our survey and present a statistical analysis of spin states and shapes of the asteroids from this study.

3차 곡선을 이용한 다 구간 경로 기반의 컷씬 효과 (Multiple-Section Using 3D Spline based Cut-Scene Effect)

  • 현대 게임 개발에 있어서 영화에서 쓰이는 카메라 연출 기법을 이용하여 게임을 제작하는 사례가 많아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 게임 제작시 3차원 공간상에 곡선을 이용하여 오브젝트의 이동 및 카메라 연출 기법에 대해 논의한다. Catmull-Rom 곡선은 다른 곡선들에 비하여 정확히 곡선 위를 따라가는 알고리즘이다. 본 연구에서는 3차원 공간상에서 Catmull-Rom 곡선을 이용하여 다 구간에 대해 사용자의 입력에 따라 동적으로 생성하여 오브젝트가 자연스럽게 경로 위를 지나갈 수 있는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 또한, Catmull-Rom 곡선을 이용하여 커씬 구간을 설정하여 오브젝트가 이동하는 것을 관찰 할 수 있는 기법에 대해 소개한다. 실험으로는 곡선의 정확성 및 효율성에 대해 실험하였고 Catmull-Rom 곡선이 오브젝트의 이동 뿐만 아니라 카메라 연출 기법에서도 매우 효율적이라는 것을 알 수 있었다.
