Nasal polyps were apparently common in many parts of the world and treated for nearly three thousand years. Nasal polyps are round, smooth, soft, semi-translucent, yellow or pale glistening structures, usually attached to the nasal or sinus mucosa by a relatively narrow stalk or pedicle. The incidence of nasal polyps is increased in patients with atopic diseases; it varies from 15% to 25% and now increased using allergy therapy for nasal polyposis treatment. Sinusitis is an inflammation of the mucous membranes of the sinuses. Many agents can cause an inflammatory response, including organisms such as bacteria and viruses, physical and chemical trauma, and antigen antibody reactions. The role of antigen antibody interactions (allergy) in simusitis is not completely understood ; however, patients with allergic rhinitis and nasal polyps have a high incidence of sinusitis. Recently authors have experienced two cured cases of nasal polyposis combined with chronic sinusitis by allergy therapy, that cases were treated only allergy thereapy after Caldwell Luc operation with ethmoidectomy and polypectomy. At now cases were not recur of nasal polyps and nasal symptoms. So the cases were reported with a brief review of literature.
In thi, study, we made experiments to fonn a mesa shape by meltback method with various concentration of solutions and found that unsaturated (20%) InGaAsP (1.55 !-tm) solution at a growth temperature was the most suitable for the formation of a mesa ,hape on the wafer which has an InGaAsP active layer and an InP cap layer on an n-InP substrate. It was difficult to form a proper mesa shape for the fabrication of PBH-LDs only by the meltback method; therefore, we fabricated PBH-LDs by forming the mesa shape with the meltback method after wet etching and by growing a current-blocking layer successively. As the electrical and optical charaleri, tiecs of MQW-PBH-LDs fabricated by above methods, when the cavity length was $300{\mu}m$, the threshold current was about 10 mA, internal quantum efficiency 82%, internal loss $9.2cm^{-1}$, and characteristic temperature was 65 K at $25~45^{\circ}C$ and 42 K at $45~65^{\circ}C$. /TEX>.
An antihyperlipidemic effect was observed by intraperitoneal injection of the seaweed Monostroma nitidum extract. Hyperlipidemia was induced by intraperitoneal injection of Triton WR-1339 $(60\;{\mu}g/g-body\;weight)$ into a mouse. Maximum level of blood cholesterol was reached at 20 hours after Triton injection. By simultaneous injection of the M. nitidum extract $(30\;{\mu}g/g-body\;weight)$ with the Triton into each right and left sides of the peritoneal cavity, levels of total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein were decreased to $24\%\;and\;14\%$ compared to Triton injection only. For histochemical changes, hepatic tissues obtained at 40 hours after injection of the Triton and the M. nitidum extract were fixed in fromol-calcium solution. The meshlike cytoplasms disappeared and hapatic plates were recovered in mice injected with the M. nitidum extract. Numbers of lipid drops and cholesterol particles also decreased in the portal space of the hepatic cytoplasm. This indicates that the accumulation of lipid, including cholesterol, caused by Triton was prevented by the antihyperlipidemic effect of extract from the seaweed M. nitidum.
A female Green iguana (Iguana iguana) was brought to the small animal clinic in Hannover Veterinary school because of anorexia and convulsion. Two months ago, the owner bought two iguanas, one female and one male and had to take a female to the one of local small animal clinic because she, born in 19931 didn't eat well and showed the tremor of the legs. The veterinarian suspected it to have a calcium deficiency and gave an injection of calcium and vitamin D3. But still during the last two months, the female iguana did only eat some lettuce while the other male ate lettuce, fruits and commercial cat-food ($Whiskas^{\circledR}$, Effem, Verden). It was not possible to evaluate the rations of these different "food-components". They are kept in the terrarium with water container. By palpation of the abdomen, hard thing like stone was palpated in the mid-region. The blood test wasn't carried out because of the difficulties of getting blood and because of her bad condition. It was firmly diagnosed as cystic calculus through radiography. Since the animal is in shock state already, the prognosis after surgery was bad. It was assumed to be too late to expect its surviving with the surgery carried out or without it. Cystotomy was performed in the cranial ventral paramedian incision in order to preserve the large ventral abdominal vein in the linen alba region. After two stay sutures ("holding suture" ) with 5-0 polyglactin 910 ($Vicryl^{\circledR}, Ethicon$) on the bladder, cystotomy was carried out and the stone inside was removed. Then, the bladder was closed in one-layer sutures. The abdomen was closed in simple interrupted suture with same material after the instillation of 10 ml saline solution into the abdominal cavity. The cystic calculus was in a size of $5.8{\times} 5.O{\times} 3.5 cm$. The analysis of the stone was carried out in two ways which are the infrared spectroscopy of the stone and quick analysis by $Merckognost^{\circledR}$(Diagnostica Merck, Merck). In the result of the infrared spectroscopy, the stone wee composed of 10% ammonium urate and 90% dihydrated uric acid. This iguana wasn't able to survive.n't able to survive.

This paper deals with the anisotropy of the mushy region during solidification process of a binary mixture. A theoretical model which specifies a permeability tensor in terms of pricipal values is proposed. Also, the governing equations are modified into convenient forms for the numerical analysis with the existing algorithm. Some test computations are performed for soeidification of aqueous ammonium chloride solution contained in a square cavity. Results show that not only the present model is capable of resolving fundamental characteristics of the tranport phenomena, but also the anisotropy significantly affects the interdendritic flow structure, i.e., double-diffusive convection and macrosegregation patterns.

Articular cartilage is an important target for studying the arthritic diseases. To verify the therapeutic effects of bee venom herb-acupuncture in vivo, 3${\mu}$l of diluted solution of bee venom for herb-acupuncture were injected into articular cavity once a day during 3 months after making full-thickness defects in rat articular cartilage. Histological examination and immunohistochemistry indicated that the chondrocyte-like tissue was formed during the repair process of cartilage injury, and the expression of a cartilage-specific protein, collagen type II, were significantly activated. It means that the expression of the gene encoding type I collagen was down-regulated, whereas those of collagen type II were up-regulated. Histological examination by hematoxylin-eosin staining indicated that the cells regained their original round morphology. In addition, a homogeneous distribution of articular cartilage extracellular matrices was detected around the cells. These results suggested that bee venom herb-acupuncture was very effective on the recovery of articular chondrocyte phenotype.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of copal varnish and five bonding agents(Scotchbond Multi-Purpose Plus Dental Adhesive System, Panavia 21, All Bond 2, Superbond D-Liner II plus, Fuji Duet) in reducing microleakage under amalgam restorations. Class V cavity were prepared on both buccal and lingual surface of sixty extracted human molars with cementum margin and were filled with different kinds of liners and amalgam. All teeth were stored at $37^{\circ}C$ in physiologic saline solution. After 1 week they were thermally stressed for 500 cycles between 5 and $55^{\circ}C$ in baths containing 0.5 % basic fuchsin dye. The dye penetrations were observed with a stereomicroscope. Scanning electron micrographs were taken of representative tooth sections from each group to assess the nature of the tooth/liner/amalgam interface. The statistical test were applied to the results using a one way analysis variance (ANOVA) and Duncan's multiple range test. The results were as follows ; 1. In all groups, the enamel margin showed significantly lower leakage value than the cementum margin (p<0.05). 2. At the dentin and enamel margins, the leakage value of Copalite-lined group showed significantly higher than that of no liner group (p<0.05), but showed significantly lower than that of bonding agent lined-groups (p<0.05). 3. There was no significant difference between the bonding agent lined-groups (p>0.05). 4. On the backscattered scanning electron microscopy observation, discontinuous gaps were observed between amalgam and dentin in the bonding agent-lined amalgam restorations and the bonding agents appeared to fill the gap space and were mixed with amalgam particles. At the amalgam/tooth interface, unsealed dentin and continuous gaps were found in both unlined and Copalite-lined restorations.
The purpose of this study was to observe the microleakage of composite resin filling using several glass ionomer cements. The Class V cavities of eighty noncarious human molars were prepared at the cementoenamel juction on the facial and lingual surfaces of each tooth with a No.330 carbide bur in a high speed handpiece. The cavity dimensions were $3.0{\pm}0.5mm$ wide, $2.0{\pm}0.5mm$ high, and $1.5{\pm}0.5mm$ deep and all enamel cavosurface margins were beveled with a No.558 carbide bur in low speed handpiece. The bevel was approximately $45^{\circ}$ and 0.5-1.0mm in width. A total of the 160 cavities was divided into four groups, and then 144 cavities among them were three experimental groups and remaining sixteen cavities were control group. All of the prepared cavities were restored as follows: group 1 : Preparations were restored with there three glass ionomer cements. group 2 : Preparations were restored with a composite resin with three glass ionomer cement bases placed $0.2{\pm}0.1mm$ short of the cavosurface margin. group 3 : Preparations were restored with a composite resin with three glass ionomer cement bases extened to the cavosurface margin. group 4 : As control group, preparations were restored with a composite resin, PALFIQUE. The specimens were then thermocycled in a range of $6^{\circ}C-60^{\circ}C$ and immersed in a bath of 2.0% aqueous basic fuchsin solution for 24 hours. Dye penetration was read on a scale of 0 to 4 by Tani and Buonocore's method. The following conclusions were derived from the results obtained; 1. All groups showed significantly more leakage at the gingival margins than at the occlusal margins(p<0.0005). 2. At the gingival margins, group 1 showed less leakage than group 3(p<0.01) and group 4(p<0.0005), while group 3 exhibited less leakage than group 2(p<0.01) and group 4(p<0.0005). 3. At the occlusal margins, group 4 showed less leakage than group 3(p<0.1) and group 1(p<0.005), while group 3 exhibited less leakage than group 2(p>0.1) and group 1(p<0.025).
Since the introduction of non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma in the field of the dentistry, numerous applications have been investigated. Especially with its advantages over existing vacuum plasma in terms of portability, low cost, and non-thermal damage, it can be directly applied in the oral cavity, giving number of potentials for dental application. First, possible application of non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma in the field of dentistry is relation to dental caries and periodontal diseases. Teeth and alveolar bones are one of the strongest bony structures in our body, but it cannot be regenerated when they are damaged by dental caries or periodontal disease. Hence many studies to prevent such diseases have been carried out, though no perfect solution has been found yet. With recent studies of modifying surfaces through non-thermal atmospheric pressure application that can prevent attachment of bacteria, or studies on bactericidal effects of non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma can be applied here to prevent oral pathogen and 'biofilm' attachment to the surface of teeth or directly eliminate the dental caries/periodontal disease causing germs. Secondly, non-thermal atmospheric pressure application will be useful on the surface of dental implant. It is well known that the success of dental implant surgery depends on the process known as 'osseointegration' that result from osteoblast attachment, proliferation and differentiation. As the application of non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma on the surface of dental implant just before its introduction by the chair-side of dental surgery. Despite its long history, the generation of non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma has been greatly increased with its application in dentistry.
The amorphous and porous borosilicate without any cracks was obtained under the following condition : 0.01~ 0.10 mole ratio of trimethylborate (TMB)/ tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) and the temperature of $700{\sim}800^{\circ}C$. According to the BET and SEM measurements, borosilicate heat-treated in between 700 and $800^{\circ}C$ showed the surface area of $251.12{\sim}355.62m^2/g$, the pore diameter of 3.5~4.9 nm, and the particle size of 30~60 nm. According to the TGA measurements, the thermal stability of poly[1-(trimethylsilyl)propyne](PTMSP) membrane was enhanced by inserting borosilicate. SEM observation showed that the size of dispersed borosilicate in the composite membrane was $1{\mu}m$. The results showed that the permeability of $H_2$ and $N_2$ increased and the selectivity of $H_2/N_2$ decreased upon the addition of borosilicate into PTMSP membranes. Addition of borosilicate may possibly increase the free volume, cavity and porosity of membranes indicating that permeation occurred by molecular sieving, surface and Knudsen diffusion rather than solution diffusion of gases.
