  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception on video material making and the effect on science teaching ability after conducting non-face-to-face teaching material making activity for elementary pre-service teachers. This activity consisted two processes. One is that elementary pre-service teachers conduct inquiry, understand related science concepts, analyze science textbooks and then make video material. The other is that they watch video materials produced by colleagues. This study was conducted on 89 elementary pre-service teachers for 8 weeks. After this activity was completed, the perception on video material making and the effect on science teaching ability of elementary pre-service teachers were investigated, and the results were analyzed. In the process of making and watching non-face-to-face teaching materials, elementary pre-service teachers showed positive results in teaching-learning, video production, and emotion and attitude toward video material making. In addition, it was found that they improved their science teaching ability through this activity and were very satisfied with this activity. However, they also mentioned several disappointments such as exclusion of learners' right to self-determination, lack of various communication channels, and errors in content of materials. This suggests that if these problems are solved, non-face-to-face classes can also be a good form of class.

  • Recently, as the use of applications such as big data programs and machine learning programs that are driven while generating large amounts of data in the program itself becomes common, the existing main memory alone lacks memory, making it difficult to execute the program quickly. In particular, the need to derive results more quickly has emerged in a situation where it is necessary to analyze whether the entire sequence is genetically altered due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. As a result of measuring performance by applying large-capacity data to a computing system equipped with a self-developed memory pool MOCA host adapter instead of processing large-capacity data from an existing SSD, performance improved by 16% compared to the existing SSD system. In addition, in various other benchmark tests, IO performance was 92.8%, 80.6%, and 32.8% faster than SSD in computing systems equipped with memory pool MOCA host adapters such as SortSampleBam, ApplyBQSR, and GatherBamFiles by task of workflow. When analyzing large amounts of data, such as electrical dielectric pipeline analysis, it is judged that the measurement delay occurring at runtime can be reduced in the computing system equipped with the memory pool MOCA host adapter developed in this research.

  • This study aims to apply Hannah Arendt's concept of 'collective responsibility' to the Christian education on environmental issues around the world, focusing on climate change. This study prepares the concept of 'collective responsibility' and the concept of 'collective guilt' and emphasizes the fact that the current climate change problem should be seen as a political task rather than a task of personal ethics. According to Arendt's theory, Christian education activities applying 'collective responsibility' for climate change can become action. This study has four suggestions for Christian learning to understand and recognize climate change. First, presenting and justifying the anxiety and anger toward climate change in the classroom. Second, transcending self-interest (egocentrism) through "Common Sense (enlarged mentality)" in Kantian terms. Third, building education communities through 'citizen participatory education,' running communication, and conversation. Fourth, encouraging experience and practice in every education community with "faith expressing itself through love (Gal 5:6)." Then, to be sure, this refers to not only love of neighbor in Christianity but also political friendship (philia politikē). The academic significance of this study is that it is the first interdisciplinary research paper in Korea which dealt with Arendt's political theory in relation to Christian education. Although it claims to be a theoretical work that applies Arendt's political theory from a systematic theological perspective to Christian education, the author is proud that it is accompanied by practical elements that can be actualized in the education field.
