  • The deaths caused by industrial accidents during the construction of the mortality rate is considerably higher than in other industries. To prevent such a disaster workers and to minimize unsafe behavior measures to be drawn, and construction companies recently to stimulate the emotions of the workers to participate in voluntary activities are safe. In this study, the construction workers can stimulate emotions and activities on the environment by examining the preferences of the workers on-site management will want to take advantage. This study revealed that the construction workers prefer the incentive most and then working environment.

한국형 위험기반검사(K-RBI)의 절차 개발 (Development of Implemental Procedure for K-Risk Based Inspection)

  • To apply easily the K-RBI program in domestic industries, an implemental procedure for K-RBI program was prepared. The K-RBI program had been developed, based on API-581 BRD. Therefore, through the usage of the developed K-RBI program and the implemental procedure, industries would have a benefit from reduced costs by modifying a frequency of an inspection efficiently. Also, the reliability of facilities would be maximized through improvement of an inspection method for facilities, considering its risk.

  • Recently interior of a country have been innovated driverless LRT(lightweight railway train) that has a virtue of reducion of payroll cost, decrease of headway and improvement of speed. But, if driverless LRT will be happened a accident, response capacity considerably have low. And then passenger will have feel fear. This thesis had examination a IEC 62267 : AUGT safety requirement and analyze safe facilities of the inside and outside of the country. Later on, this result will have not only increase economics, reliability, convenience and safety but also set standardization standard.

Characteristics of a Corona between a Wiring Clamp (Dead End Clamp) and a Porcelain Insulator Used in a 154kV Power Receptacle

  • The occurrence of a corona is that electrical discharge due to the heterogeneity that occurs when an electrical field is concentrated in an electrode due to a cusp formed on said electrode. Wire treatment at the end of a 154kV dead end clamp for end users accelerates the occurrence of corona, which in turn leads to power loss and noise. In this study, the characteristics of the corona which occurs between porcelain insulators and support clamps of overhead lines used in l54kV power receiving facilities for end users were investigated. The corona, which cannot be identified by one common method, was measured utilizing a UV image camera. A risk assessment for fire damage and its status was suggested. The stress distribution of the electrical field by length of bare wire was suggested by means of the finite element method (FEMLAB). As a result, it was found to affect a porcelain insulators. These results can be utilized for the enhancement of clamp installation and safety in power facilities.

  • While damage caused by fire increases, awareness of fire is still low. Morever, Small fires often spread into big fires as they fail to keep the golden time due to the delay in initial response. In particular, the initial response is more important in areas where many unauthorized buildings are called " Panjachon " as firefighting facilities are insufficient compared to other residential facilities. Therefore, we will combine BIM technology, drones and IT convergence technologies to develop a firefighting safety information system that can speed up initial response and help combat fires.

  • This research modified the checklist used in the universities in USA, England and Korea considering the current situation of Korea, and conducted case studies upon each section of appointed chemical laboratories based on 4M criteria, which stands for Machine, Media, Man and Management. The purpose of the studies is to assess how dangerous the laboratories are and to contribute to prevention of accidentsin the laboratories as well as reducing loss of lives and property. The result of this research found out the harmful and hazardous factors based on the 4M-type checklist and predicted the dangerousness as it multiplies possible frequency by intensity. Protective equipment, safety facilities in laboratories, emergency exit and compressed gas cylinder are found to be more dangerous, so the result shows that it is desirable to improve ventilation, safety facilities and circumstances of the laboratory through the investment.

  • In field of Urban transit safely, It must be not only secured vehicle but also every areas like power, signal, communication, track, tunnel, operating facilities. Likewise it is very important not only hardware system like vehicles, facilities but also software system like action of engine driver, duty officer. In other to secure safety of hardware, soft ware, it is very important systemic process. In Korea, Many operating companies neglect to invest in safely and ignore technical development about safety because of management. Safely was considered in subway system and many studies were accomplished about safety in subway system in advanced county like U.K, USA. Hence, in this paper, Conditions and improvement of minimum considerable hardware and software are proposed for safe operation in Urban transit.

  • Recently the increase of natural disaster and man-made disaster, newly emerging infectious diseases and bioterrorism attack changed the world in many aspects. So the Ministry of Health and Welfare and other related agencies are trying to solve the problems with disasters. We discussed these problems in the following eleven categories. (1) emergency medicine (2) communicable disease control, (3) food safety control, (4) public facilities safety, (5) social welfare facilities safety, (6) bioterrorism control, (7) geriatric health care, (8) insurance support, (9) overseas disaster victim support, (10) national organization protection, (11) fire fighter safety in forest fire. Through the reviews on the various kinds of disaster, we proposed the disaster control measure for the near future.

  • The fire in Ulsan in 2020 was a 33-story residential and commercial complex with about 90 injuries and more than 10 billion won in property damage, and considering the recent increase in high-rise residential and commercial complexes, the risk of similar fires is high. As can be seen through the residential and commercial complex fire case in Ulsan, life-based fire safety standards need to be established to minimize casualties. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to draw improvements for the development of human safety standards for high-rise residential facilities in the future through comparison with the Korean Building Act, Firefighting-rellated Acts and the U.S. NFPA 101.

Anomaly Detection System for Solar Power Distribution Panels utilizing Thermal Images

  • This study aimed to develop an advanced anomaly-detection system tailored for solar power distribution panels using thermal imaging cameras to ensure operational stability. It addresses the imperative shift toward digitalized safety management in electrical facilities, transcending the limitations of conventional empirical methodologies. Our proposed system leverages a faster R-CNN-based artificial intelligence model optimized through meticulous hyperparameter tuning to efficiently detect anomalies in distribution panels. Through comprehensive experimentation, we validated the efficacy of the system in accurately identifying anomalies, thereby propelling safety protocols forward during the fourth industrial revolution. This study signifies a significant stride toward fortifying the integrity and resilience of solar power distribution systems, which is pivotal for adapting to emerging technological paradigms and evolving safety standards in the energy sector. These findings offer valuable insights for enhancing the reliability and efficiency of safety management practices and fostering a safer and more sustainable energy landscape.
