The main purpose of this study was to examine the impact of religious participation on the depression of elder adults in USA. Specifically, this study examined how the influence of religious participation varied according to continuity or discontinuity of participation. Data from N=1,658 adults aged 65-90 who were respondents to two waves of the U.S. National survey of Families and Households 1987-1993 were used for these analyses. Depression was measured with a 12-item (of the original 20) modified version of the CES-D (Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression). Multivariate regression models controlling for several demographic variables were estimated. Some clear evidence was found supporting activity theory and continuity theory That is, participating in a religious organization role at Time 2 but not Time 1 (T1 No - T2 Yes) and being continuously involved in religious organizations both at Time 1 and Time 2 (T1 Yes -T2 Yes) were associated with reduced depression, compared to continuous nonparticipation in religious organizations (71 No -72 No).

The purposes of this study was to identify the dimensions of salesperson's effort and to examine the effect of salesperson's effort on relationship quality and customer intent to relationship continuity of middle upper class older female customers. The subjects used for the study were 202 middle upper class older female customers over 55 years living in Seoul. Factor analysis, paired t-test, multiple regression analysis and path analysis were used for statistics analysis. The results of this study were as follows. First, 5 factors were identified for the dimensions of salesperson's effort in older female customer's perception: attentiveness/product competence/effective access/friendliness/ special treatment. The salesperson's effort perceived most importantly was friendliness. Second, the salesperson's effort perceived by customer had direct and indirect effects on customer intent to relationship continuity; indirect effect mediated by relationship quality was larger than the direct one. Relationship quality was proved to have a crucial role in customer intent to relationship continuity. The influences of dimensions of salesperson's effort were also investigated. The effective access affected considerably on customer intent to relationship continuity.

The rotational stiffness of a semi-rigid beam-to-column connection plays an important role in the reduction of the second-order effects in the precast concrete skeletal frames. The aim of this study is to present a detailed nonlinear finite element study to reproduce the experimental response of a semi-rigid precast beam-to-column connection composed by corbel, dowel bar and continuity tie bars available in the literature. A parametric study was carried using four arrangements of the reinforcing tie bars in the connection, including high ratio of the continuity tie bars passing around the column in the cast-in-place concrete. The results from the parametric study were compared to analytical equations proposed to evaluate the secant rotational stiffness of beam-to-column connections. The good agreement with the experimental results was obtained, demonstrating that the finite element model can accurately predict the structural behaviour of the beam-to-column connection despite its complex geometric configuration. The secant rotational stiffness of the connection was good evaluated by the analytical model available in the literature for ratio of the continuity tie bars of up to 0.69%. Precast beam-to-column connection with a ratio of the continuity tie bars higher than 1.4% had the secant stiffness overestimated. Therefore, an adjustment coefficient for the effective depth of the crack at the end of the beam was proposed for the analytical model, which is a function of the ratio of the continuity tie bars.

Purpose: The purposes of this study were to develop a navigation program for newly diagnosed cancer patients and to evaluate its effects. Methods: The navigation program was based upon Professional Navigation Framework. Patients were asked to complete self-administered questionnaires on satisfaction, distress, anxiety and depression for evaluating the program. Results: The navigation program consisted of facilitating two concepts: continuity of care and empowerment of patients. Information-education package, telephone counseling and navigator's phone number were provided to the newly diagnosed cancer patients for care continuity. Self-care diary and emotional support by telephone counseling were provided to the patients for empowerment of patients. A total of 163 patients - 78 control and 85 experimental participants - were included in the study. The mean scores of satisfaction, distress, anxiety and depression had no statistical differences between the two groups after program implementation. In patients with longer waiting days, the experimental group with the navigation program showed higher relational continuity than the control group after program implementation(p=.023). In patients with longer waiting days or with higher distress, satisfaction of relational continuity was improved after program implementation in the experimental group. Conclusion: The navigation program in this study has applied the concept of patient navigation into oncology clinical setting in Korea. Navigation program can play a significant role in assisting patients navigating across the care continuum.

Purpose - This study aims to examine the correlations between relationship benefits, quality, and continuity intention of community services. It further investigates the mediation effect of relationship quality operating on the association between relationship benefits and relationship continuity intention. Thus, this study will aim to elucidate the correlations between relationship benefits, quality and community services intention. Research design, data, and methodology - To achieve these objectives, this study executed a questionnaire from the users of the child․adolescent psychological support service which represents part of community services. The research framework that was utilized in this study was of three main factors. They were relationship quality, relationship benefits, and intention of relationship continuity. In relationship quality, factors such as trust and commitment was included in this section. For relationship benefits, factors such as society benefits and commitment benefits were the essence. The control variable in this study was gender, age, income, hours of service used, and the number of times service was used in community services. Results - The key research findings are as follows. First, this study found out that the more the social benefits was enhanced in the community services, the higher the relationship continuity intention was. Second, this study has found out that the higher the trust of community services, the higher the relationship continuity intention. Third, this study has shown that the more the relationship benefits was enhanced in the community services, the higher the recognition by the users' relationship quality was. Fourth, the trust in the community services played a mediating role between the relationship benefits and relationship continuity intention. Conclusions - Many associations could be discovered on the correlations between relationship benefits, quality, and community service continuality intention. These results will have important implications for the future of child and adolescent psychological support services. In terms of relationship marketing, the three factors; benefits, quality, and continuity intention in community services were proved to be pivotal. In order for the continuity intention in community services, the two factors of benefits and quality were the influential factors. From a policy maker's standpoint, the relationship continuity was the most important factor.

각기 다른 상황에서 각기 다른 활동을 통하여 이루어진 학습의 연속성과 그 변환 과정을 살펴보고, 이 때 일어나는 학습자의 목표와 활동 사이의 관계, 그리고 타인과의 상호작용의 영향을 분석하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 이를 위하여, 5명의 학생들을 각기 다른 상황에서 확률과 관련된 다양한 활동들을 해 보게 하였으며, 집단 면담과 개별 면담, 관찰 등을 통하여 그들의 학습과정 및 사고를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 다양한 상황과 활동 속에서 타인과의 상호작용을 통하여 초기 학습 목표를 수정하여 새로운 목표를 설정하고 다른 활동에서 다시 이를 조정, 발전시키는 반복 과정을 통해 학습의 연속성과 변환이 발생하였으며, 특히, 타인과의 상호작용이 새로운 목표 설정과 전략을 수립하는 데에 결정적 역할을 함을 알 수 있었다. 이는 학습자의 인지 발달 및 수학 학습에 있어 적절한 과제 제시와 교사 역할의 중요성뿐만 아니라 학교와 학교 외 활동간의 높은 연속성이 학습을 촉진하고 의미 있게 할 수 있다는 가능성을 제시한다.

본 연구는 해외기업과의 동반성장 요소와 관계지속성의 관계에서 목표 몰입의 매개효과와 기업가 지향성의 조절효과를 검증하고자 한다. 연구대상은 무역전시회에 참가한 경험이 있는 기업의 실무담당자 427명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 26.0과 AMOS 26.0 프로그램을 이용하여 통계분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 해외기업과의 협력을 위한 동반성장 요소 중 대부분의 요인이 목표 몰입에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 해외기업과의 협력을 위한 동반성장 요소 중 대부분의 요인이 관계지속성에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 해외기업과의 목표 몰입은 관계지속성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 해외기업과의 협력을 위한 동반성장 요소와 관계지속성의 관계에서 목표 몰입의 매개효과를 분석한 결과, 일부 동반성장 요소에서 매개역할을 하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 다섯째, 해외기업과의 협력을 위한 동반성장 요소와 관계지속성의 관계에서 기업가 지향성은 일부 동반성장 요소에 대해 유의한 조절효과를 갖는 것으로 확인되었다.

When imaginary numbers were first encountered in the 16th century, mathematicians were able to calculate the imaginary numbers the same as they are today. However, it required 200 years to mathematically acknowledge the existence of imaginary numbers. The new mathematical situation that arose with a development in mathematics required a harmony of real numbers and imaginary numbers. As a result, the concept of complex number became clear. A history behind the development of complex numbers involved a process of determining a comprehensive perspective that ties real numbers and imaginary numbers in a single category, complex numbers. This came after a resolution of conflict between real numbers and imaginary numbers. This study identified the new perspective and way of mathematical thinking emerging from resolving the conflicts. Also educational implications of the analysis were discussed.
