  • Purpose: Nurses play an important role in ensuring patient rehabilitation and are involved in all aspects of multidimensional rehabilitation. Therefore, strengthening rehabilitation nursing education is vital to ascertain high-quality rehabilitation and optimum outcomes. This study examined the effectiveness of a new teaching reform-a modified Six-Sigma-based training program-against a conventional educational program on rehabilitation specialist nurses' core competencies, post-training performance, and satisfaction. Methods: A quasi-randomized controlled trial was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the modified training program. We recruited 56 learners from the 2020 training course at the Hunan Rehabilitation Specialist Nurse Training Base as the control group. Sixty learners from the base's 2021 training course were recruited as the intervention group. Data were collected in a consistent manner from both groups after the training program was implemented. Results: Those who underwent the modified training program showed better improvement in all core competencies than those who underwent the conventional training program (p < .05); the scores for theoretical knowledge, clinical nursing lectures, reviews, and nursing case management improved significantly following the teaching reform (p < 0.05). Further, overall satisfaction as well as base management and theoretical teaching satisfaction improved significantly (p < .05). Conclusion: The modified training program strengthens rehabilitation nurses' base management abilities; enhances their core competencies; expands their interest in and breadth, depth, and practicability of theoretical courses; and updates the teaching methods.

  • Proper pre-safety training is one of core mandatory in order to reduce injuries at the construction fields. In this study, we investigate the employee's opinions of safety training, safety recognition, the actual conditions of safety through survey. As a result of study, incident factors are roughly divided into technical factor, managerial factor, and educational factor. We confirmed that the educational factor led by deficiency of safety awareness and knowledge was the major factor. It needs to be resettled or revised properly to match with the incident trends and the safety training curriculum should also be improved and drastically revised with special quality. The managerial workers' safety recognition is lower than the site ones regarding the correct understanding of the importance of the training.. It suggest that the education method and system in construction fields might have fundamental problems.

  • The Government is going to enforce assessment of dental institutions in addition to assessment of medical institutions so that it can provide good-quality medical service to people having much interest in quality of medical service. But the empirical research on the assessment of dental institutions which is still in a model assessment stage, is insufficient. Accordingly, the present research aims to help dental institutions preparing the main assessment by researching an acceptance level of workers of dental institutions in a process performing assessment of dental institutions, based on the preceding researches that the perceived utility has influence on implementation intention. The present research proved the influence that job relevance, result demonstration, usability and education & training of workers and manager's leadership of an infection management part affects perceived utility and implementation intention. As a research result, all the job relevance, result demonstration, usability have a positive(+) influence on perceived utility and implementation intention, and the influence of job relevance most affects especially. The leadership and education & training have influence on what workers get to have implementation intention after perception of utility of infection management according to the order. According to the above results, it can be understood that medical institutions preparing for assessment of dental institutions take charge of the assessment part having high relevance with work of workers and need to make a manager ordering performance of its assessment be able to foster a leadership for improving effectiveness of assessment performance.

  • Quality control in construction projects necessitates the detection of defects during construction. Currently, this task is performed manually by site supervisors. This manual process is inefficient, labor-intensive, and prone to human error, potentially leading to decreased productivity. To address this issue, research has been conducted to automate defect detection using computer vision-based object detection technologies. However, these studies often suffer from a lack of data for training deep learning models, resulting in inadequate accuracy. This study proposes a method to improve the accuracy of deep learning models through the use of virtual image data. The target building is created as a 3D model and finished with materials similar to actual components. Subsequently, a virtual defect texture is produced by layering three types of images: defect information, area information, and material information images, to fabricate materials with defects. Images are generated by rendering the 3D model and the defect, and annotations are created for segmentation. This approach creates a hybrid dataset by combining virtual data with actual site image data, which is then used to train the deep learning model. This research was conducted on the tile process of finishing construction projects, focusing on cracks and falls as the target defects. The training results of the deep learning model show that the F1-Score increased by 12.08% for falls and cracks when using the hybrid dataset compared to the real image dataset alone, validating the hybrid data approach. This study contributes not only to unmanned and automated smart construction management but also to enhancing safety on construction sites. To establish an integrated smart quality management system, it is necessary to detect various defects simultaneously with high accuracy. Utilizing this method for automatic defect detection in other types of construction can potentially expand the possibilities for implementing an integrated smart quality management system.

  • The study attempts to review TQM models used in the health care sector and the obstacles to the application of TQM in the sector. Even though the TQM models in the manufacturing and service sectors were successfully applied, the applicability of TQM in the health care sector is still in question. The reason is the unique characteristics of the medical sector such as medical and management practices. The most of the TQM models in the health care sector come from manufacturing industries. The importance of the professional groups is, however, more emphasized in the sector than in manufacturing sector. The role of the groups are idiosyncratic to the sector. They generate some obstacles to the application of TQM in the sector. The barriers include cultural obstacles of health care organization. It naturally follows that the TQM in the health care sector requires the change of the organizational culture of the sector. The culture embraces the norms, rules, regulations, compensation system, morale, practices, and common experiences. To change the culture needs long term effort and modification of the rules, regulations, compensation system, and practices. It also requires staffs' training in the problem solving methods. The TQM in the health care sector needs that the interested parties should change. Since doctors group and nurses group are controlled in the bureaucratic and authoritative manner, they should learn the problem solving techniques which require the interaction with other groups. The management also needs to learn management skills and get thorough training on them.

  • Due to the lack of attendance management system, the training conducted by each existing institution was handwritten at the site and managed in writing about the attendance of participants. It not only takes a lot of manpower and time to store and search, but also has a lot of difficulty in storing. In this paper, we design and implement an integrated smart attendance management system using barcodes. Through this, the attendance system of training applicants is developed, security related to attendance is strengthened, and training attendance data is computerized and collected. In addition, standards for necessary data are selected so that each institution can efficiently manage and utilize training information data. The proposed system can add various institutions in a single construction, making it easy to expand institutional management and can expect additional cost reduction effects. In addition, it is expected that the quality of education will be improved by increasing the convenience of training managers who use the management system provided and controlling/managing attendance data of users.
