  • Since 100PPM Quality Certification System has been established by the Industrial Advancement Administration in 1995, 100PPM Quality Innovation Movement has contributed much to the enhancement of quality competitiveness of Korea's parts industry. And in 2000, raised to a higher level, Single PPM Quality Certification System has been established by the Small and Medium Business Administration. Single PPM Quality Innovation Movement seeks to reduce the number of defects to below 10, out of one million industrial items produced. Ultimately, Single PPM Quality Innovation Movement aims at achieving perfection, by enabling a zero defect rate In industrial production through the participation of all members of an organization. So this study aims to show the tangible and intangible effects of Single PPM Quality Certification System. and to suggest a methodology to improve current problems of Single PPM Quality Innovation Movement.

물류서비스품질의 측정을 위한 척도개발에 관한 연구 (Development of the Scale to Measure the Logistics Service Quality)

  • The importance of quality logistics service to the enterprises has kept growing considering the fierce competitions. It also asks for the sound definition and the scale explaining the construct of logistics service quality. The current study attempted to identify the construct of logistics service quality and develop the scale to measure it. Various qualitative and quantitative methodologies have been employed in order to provide the solid theoretical and psychometrical foundation of the proposed scale. In so doing, the conceptual definition of Logistics Service quality has been proposed and the 127-item scale measuring the construct of logistics service quality has been developed and found to be reliable and valid.

대학교육 서비스품질의 중요도-만족도 분석 연구 (The Importance-Satisfaction Analysis of Service Quality in University)

  • Purpose: To increase the competitiveness of the university and improve the quality of education by providing education services that meet the student's satisfaction needs based on the education service quality survey of university students. Methods: A questionnaire consisting of 6 elements and 38 questions was prepared and students were surveyed. The importance and satisfaction ISA analysis was conducted. Results: The results of this study are as follows; there was a difference in the perception of importance and satisfaction by student characteristics regarding the results of educational service quality measurement. Working students need an extra effort in the educational environment and foreign students in student services. Conclusion: The importance of educational service quality-satisfaction survey should be used to identify the factors of educational service quality by student characteristics to improve student satisfaction, improve the quality of education, and support educational services with a strategic approach.

경영품질의 선행요인과 결과요인: 제조업 종사자를 대상으로 (Antecedent and Consequences of Management Quality: Focused on Employees of Manufacturing Industries)

  • The objective of this study ware to explore the antecedent and consequences of management quality and to examine the mediating effects of the management quality on the relationship between antecedent and consequences. In order to verify the relationships and mediating effect, data were obtained from 328 employees working in firms at Jinju, Masan, Changwon City were analyzed by using SPSS 12.0. and AMOS 5.0. The findings are as follows: First, antecedent(psychological ownership) was positively related to management quality. Second, there were also positive relationship between management quality and consequences(employee's attitude). Third, there were also positive relationship between psychological ownership and employee's attitude(job satisfaction, organizational commitment). Finally, management quality was a partial mediating effect on the relationship between psychological ownership and employee's attitude. Based on these findings, the theoretical and practical implications and limitations are discussed in conclusion.

  • Purpose: This paper reviews the papers on TQM issues which are published in the Journal of the Korean Society for Quality Management (KSQM) since 1965. The literature review is purposed to survey a variety of TQM issues for several categories. Methods: We divide all of TQM issues into 6 categories: ISO system, quality assurance, quality management theory, empirical study on quality management, quality awards, and quality management etc. Results: Dividing all of papers on TQM published in KSQM for 50 years into 6 categories, we provide a chronological roadmap for individual categories, and summarize the contents and contributions of surveyed papers. Conclusion: The review paper is expected to provide future direction to improve TQM theories and applications in manufacturing and service industries.

현대와 도요타의 품질 위기와 극복 (The Quality Crisis and Response at Hyundai and Toyota Motor)

  • Purpose: This study compares quality crisis and management at Hyundai Motor in the late 1990s and Toyota Motor in the late 2000s. We can expect to induce more meaningful policy implications in quality management from this in-depth comparative case study. Methods: This study compares two cases at Hyundai and Toyota Motor how to overcome quality crisis based on the OESP (Organization-Environments-Strategy- Performance) model. Results: Hyundai Motor shows centralized approach based on the asymmetric organizational culture and the entrepreneurial leadership but Toyota shows decentralized, systematic approach based on the steady state leadership and symmetric organizational culture. The CEO's leadership have proved to be one of the important factors at both companies. Conclusion: The effective quality management in global contexts has become more and more difficult for the 'complexity explosions' in automobile industry. As a consequence, the future competitive edge of world automobile industry will come from the effective quality management of products in global contexts.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to gain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace by examining the current situation of three domestic Food Dehydrator companies' products. Food Dehydrators are sort of small domestic appliances(SDA), first introduced by Korean companies. Furthermore, this study suggests the improvement plans in the rapidly changing world situation. Methods: Evaluate through comparing three domestic Food Dehydrator companies' products based on the PQI(Premium Quality Index) model, developed by product quality evaluation experts group. Results: At first, we classified evaluation factors into three parts - usability quality, emotional quality - and each of the factors includes sub factors. Under this condition, the results of this study are as follows; the brand quality is remaining at a high satisfaction level compare to other two factors but emotional quality is assessed to be low. This study has shown at customers consider brand and usability quality factors as the most important factor due to the nature of the product. Conclusion: As the possibility of increasing customer needs such as product design and sensitive quality besides usability quality has risen in a competitive global market, the manufacturing companies in Korea are recommended to put forth the necessary effort to improve their product quality, especially in terms of emotional quality.

  • Stakeholder management in construction projects is an important factor in project performance creation. The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of the recognition of the importance of the quality influence factors among the stakeholders of the construction project on the perceived quality and the project performance. The impact of the project management methodology on the project performance has been actively researched, but there is little research result on the project stakeholders. The projects to be researched are apartments and buildings that have been completed within the last five years of domestic large construction company. The method of survey is to measure the consensus of the importance of the quality influential factors among the three parties such as the ordering party, the design supervisor and the constructor, and confirm whether the agreement affects the quality of the actual project. Finally, the research model was verified by surveying the satisfaction of the client on the final product. The results are as follow. The degree of agreement on the importance of quality influential factors among stakeholders has a significant effect on perceived quality. In the relationship between perceived quality of influence factors, organizational (support) quality influenced technological quality and managerial quality, and technological quality and managerial quality also have significant influence on resource quality. The results of analysis showed that perceived quality of resources strongly influenced project performance. The remaining three experienced qualities also significantly affect project performance.

의류기업의 품질 개선 방안 연구: Quality 4.0 매트릭스를 활용한 쿠트스마트 사례 (A Study on Improving the Quality of Clothing Companies: Focusing on Kutesmart using Quality 4.0 Matrix)

  • Purpose: The concept of quality is changing in the quality 4.0 era with the fourth industrial revolution in the world. This research aims to understand the characteristics of well-adapted companies against the quality 4.0 era and to improve the quality of clothing companies. Methods: We analyzed companies that responded well to the quality 4.0 era, especially Kutesmart using Quality 4.0 Matrix. We focused on the service process of Kutesmart and we suggested modified service process to improve quality. We also interviewed an expert to verify this process is valid. Results: We found that two types are classified of well-adapted companies against the quality 4.0 era. Especially, Kutesmart has built a smart factory and introduced new technologies like 3D scanner and big data analysis. However, Kutesmart has a weakness in post-purchase process like other clothing companies. Kutesmart could solve this problem with modular production method for damaged part of customer. Conclusion: This research can be used for better understanding of the characteristics of well-adapted companies against the quality 4.0 era and service process of Kutesmart that is custom clothing company for providing information for benchmarking in this industry. This study suggests that further empirical researches on the costs and the efficiencies of applying the new technologies are necessary.
