  • This study attempted to examine the relationship between college students' participation in the learning community according to the characteristics of learners. To this end, the learning community divided the subject-linked learning community into a foundation learning community and an advanced learning community. Learner characteristics were classified by gender, grade, and major. A cross-analysis was conducted to examine the difference between participation in the foundation learning community and the advanced learning community according to the learner characteristics. The results are as follows. First, the participation of female students in the foundation learning community and the advanced learning community was higher than that of male students, but it was not statistically significant. Second, it was found that there was a significant difference in participation in the learning community according to the grade. In the case of the foundation learning community, the participation rate of the first and second year students was relatively high, and in the case of the advanced learning community, the ratio of the third and fourth year students was relatively high. Third, as a result of examining the differences by major, it was found that the participation rate of health and welfare universities was high in both the foundation learning community and the advanced learning community. Based on these results, discussions and suggestions are presented.

  • The government's strengthening of the standards for mentally ill patients and expanding the scope of examinations to the entire nation reflects the changing times. According to the OECD's announcement (2021), the incidence of depression and anxiety has more than doubled since the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic in countries around the world, with Korea's prevalence ranking first. However, only 12.1% of those who have been diagnosed with mental disorders received counseling and treatment from experts. The difference between depression and simple depression is significant depending on whether it is medically treated or temporary, but it can be seen that the continuation of depression is depression. In order to reduce this depression, Kandinsky's work was visualized and created. In a study conducted by changing the playback speed of the produced Kandinsky image, beta and gamma values, which showed the largest deviation when compared to depressive patients and normal people, increased significantly when viewed at 90fps, which was most effective in relieving depression. Artistic creations are bound to be accepted differently depending on the individual's perspective, but it is hoped that research that can improve the phenomenon of individuals suffering from depression by integrating artificial intelligence and traditional mental health approaches will be further developed and widely used for treatment.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand in detail the development of infants in the 18-24-month period when language develops the most, and to prepare new standards for developmental evaluation that can promote appropriate intervention design at an early time. We divided sub-items such as screening tests and standardized test tools to know the language development ability indicators of infants aged 18-24 months were divided into syntax/phonology, meaning, and speech, and each question was classified and a checklist was made on a five-point scale to conduct a survey on parents with infants aged 18-24 months. Low sensitivity to screening of infants with language delays in nationally implemented infant health checkups, and domestic test tools are standardized for at least six to as many as 10 years, which is always possible in questionnaires related to acceptance and expression, with many reports from parents or teachers. The proportion of "wow" and "started to do" was more than 50-60%. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that new standards for developmental evaluation will be developed to promote the design of appropriate interventions in detail at a short time.

  • The aim of this study was to identify the correlation between low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and the pulmonary function. This study enrolled premenopausal women in their aged 40s, who visited the health promotion center of a general hospital more than two times. A total of 384 subjects were classified into four groups based on their LDL-cholesterol levels; A, LDL(mg/dL)<100 at both initial and follow-up; B, LDL<100 at initial but ${\geq}100$ at follow-up; C, $LDL{\geq}100$ at initial but <100 on follow-up; and D, $LDL{\geq}100$ at both the initial and follow-up test. The result showed no significant differences in the pulmonary function between the four groups. Multiple linear regression analysis, which was adjusted for age, body mass index, smoking, exercise, and follow-up duration, showed a significant negative relationship between the changes in the LDL and the changes in the $FEV_1/FVC$ (${\beta}=-0.109$, S.E.=0.029, P<0.001), but not in the $FEV_1$ and FVC. In conclusion, there was a significant but weak relationship between the LDL and pulmonary function. Further larger studies will be needed.

  • Recently, we found and analyzed vitamin $B_{12}$ in some Korean traditional plant foods which had not reported, yet. This study was to investigate vitamin $B_{12}$ intake and its dietary sources and the vitamin $B_{12}$ status in the very old elderly Koreans. We measured serum vitamin $B_{12}$ level and estimated the amounts of vitamin $B_{12}$ intake from different dietary sources in female elderly Koreans aged 85 and over who had consumed a relatively low animal traditional diet for the whole life. The average age of the subjects (n = 127) was 98.0 years (85-108 years). The assessment on energy and nutrient intake involved a one-day 24-hour recall, and serum vitamin $B_{12}$ concentration was measured by radioimmunoassay. Overall diet pattern was not different between the 85-99 yr-old group and centenarians, except centenarians were taking more dairy product. The average ratio of plant food to animal food consumption was 87.5:12.5 in weight. The average vitamin $B_{12}$ intake of our subjects was 3.2 ${\mu}g$, and 52.7% of subjects consumed under estimated average requirement, 2.0 ${\mu}g$/day. On dietary source, 67.3% of dietary vitamin $B_{12}$ was from meat, eggs and fishes and 30.6% was from plant foods, such as soybean-fermented foods, seaweeds, and kimchi. The average serum vitamin $B_{12}$ concentration was 450.5 pg/mL, and low serum vitamin $B_{12}$ (< 200 pg/mL) was found in 9.6% of subjects. Dietary vitamin $B_{12}$ intake was significantly lower in subjects with low serum vitamin $B_{12}$ (0.79 ${\mu}g$/day) than those with normal serum vitamin $B_{12}$ (3.47 ${\mu}g$/day). There were no significant difference in vitamin $B_{12}$ intake and its dietary sources and serum vitamin $B_{12}$ level between the 85-99 yr- old group and centenarians. In conclusion, several plant-origin foods including seaweed, soybean-fermented foods, and kimchi, may contribute significantly to good vitamin $B_{12}$ status in very old elderly Koreans.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Maum meditation on anxiety, self-esteem and self-actualization of teachers and this is a one-group pretest-posttest design study. Three times of surveys were carried out for seven nights and eight days including July 25 - August 1, August 1 - 8, 2009 and January 2 - 9, 2010. Before and after Maum meditation, 108 teachers in the faculty training filled out the structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSS WIN 12.0. The results showed that there was a significant difference in self-esteem of the teachers between before and after Maum meditation(p=.001). The self-actualization of the teachers was also found to be significant before and after the meditation(p=.002). Maum meditation decreased the teachers' anxiety level and improved considerably the self-esteem and self-actualization level. So it is necessary to develop the self-concept questionnaire that can support the mental health promotion intervention program.

  • This study aimed to provide basic data on health promotion programs to prevent cardiocerebrovascular Disease by identifying knowledge, attitude and self-efficacy. Data were collected from 198 middle-aged adults in S-city. The data analysis was analyzed with technical statistics and t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient. There were significant differences in knowledge depending on the age, education level, monthly income and there were significant differences in attitude depending on the education level and monthly income. There were also significant differences in self-efficacy between gender. The correlation analysis also showed a significant correlation between knowledge of cardiovascular disease and attitudes toward prevention(t=.45, p<.001). In other words, the higher your knowledge of cardiovascular disease, the more positive you are about preventing it. Therefore, it is necessary to develop education and mediation programs that can form a positive attitude toward preventing cardiocerebrovascular disease and to develop programs that enhance the self-efficacy of middle-aged men.
