VR 야구 게임의 현실감 강화 방법 연구 (A Study on Reality Enhancement Method of VR Baseball Game)

  • VR 콘텐츠의 대중화가 더딘 것은 시각적인 새로운 경험 즉, '흥미' 이상의 '효용'을 만들어내지 못했기 때문이다. 가상현실 콘텐츠의 효용은 기능적 현실감에서 출발하며 그것을 증진시키기 위해서 사실적인 인터랙션이 요구된다. 본 연구는 구체적으로 네트워크 플레이, 캐릭터 인공지능, 햅틱 구현의 3가지 방법을 제시하고 있다. 가설을 확인하기 위하여 기획에서부터 콘텐츠 제작, 플레이 테스트, 기술 검증까지 야구를 소재로 한 VR 콘텐츠 제작의 전 단계를 수행하였다. 최종 결과물에 대한 사용자 및 평가 기관의 테스트를 통하여 사실적인 시각 효과와 플레이 연출, 진동에 의한 타격감까지 콘텐츠의 현실감을 높이는 데 기여한 것으로 평가되었다.

Multi-objective optimization of submerged floating tunnel route considering structural safety and total travel time

  • The submerged floating tunnel (SFT) infrastructure has been regarded as an emerging technology that efficiently and safely connects land and islands. The SFT route problem is an essential part of the SFT planning and design phase, with significant impacts on the surrounding environment. This study aims to develop an optimization model considering transportation and structure factors. The SFT routing problem was optimized based on two objective functions, i.e., minimizing total travel time and cumulative strains, using NSGA-II. The proposed model was applied to the section from Mokpo to Jeju Island using road network and wave observation data. As a result of the proposed model, a Pareto optimum curve was obtained, showing a negative correlation between the total travel time and cumulative strain. Based on the inflection points on the Pareto optimum curve, four optimal SFT routes were selected and compared to identify the pros and cons. The travel time savings of the four selected alternatives were estimated to range from 9.9% to 10.5% compared to the non-implemented scenario. In terms of demand, there was a substantial shift in the number of travel and freight trips from airways to railways and roadways. Cumulative strain, calculated based on SFT distance, support structure, and wave energy, was found to be low when the route passed through small islands. The proposed model helps decision-making in the planning and design phases of SFT projects, ultimately contributing to the progress of a safe, efficient, and sustainable SFT infrastructure.

  • NASA launched Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) on February 2011 in order to understand the cause of solar activities and their influences on the Earth and the near-Earth space. KASI is constructing Korean Data Center for SDO based on the letter of agreement between KASI and NASA for space weather research. SDO produces about 1.5 TB a day and its raw data amounts to about 550 TB in a year. Stanford University has been already operating the data center for scientific raw data, but there is a limit to use its data for space weather research and space weather service in real time because of network environment. Korean Data Center for SDO will provide scientific data not only to Korean institutes but also to international space weather societies. KASI has designed the data transfer system by using GLORIAD in order to get higher performance and stability. After the first construction of data transfer system and storage system in this year, we will increase the storage capacity of the data center in phases considering new developments in a storage technology and drop of their prices.

Time Monitoring Observations of SiO and $H_2O$ Masers Using the KVN

  • We present the interim results of simultaneous time monitoring observations of SiO v=1, 2, J =1-0, $^{29}SiO$ v=0, J =1-0, and $H_2O$ $6_{16}-5_{23}$ maser lines toward about 60 relatively strong SiO and/or H2O maser sources using the single dishes of the Korean VLBI Network from 2009 September to 2012 June. These monitoring sources are composed of representative semiregular variables, Miras, water fountain sources, preplantary nebulae and SiO maser sources of star forming regions etc. The variations of intensity ratios between SiO and $H_2O$ masers and velocity structures are investigated according to stellar optical phases and observational epochs. Several individual sources which show an interesting feature will be presented here.

  • The (1-x)$MgTiO_3-xSrTiO_3$$(x=0.03{\sim}0.04)$ ceramics were fabricated by conventional mixed oxide method. The structural properties and microwave dielectric properties were investigated by XRD, SEM and HP8757D network analyzer. In the $0.96MgTiO_3-0.04SrTiO_3$ ceramics, the perovskite structure $SrTiO_3$ and ilmenite structure $MgTiO_3$ phases were coexisted. The dielectric constant(${\varepsilon}_r$ and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency(${\tau}_f$) was increased with addition of $SrTiO_3$. In the case of $0.96MgTiO_3-0.04SrTiO_3$ ceramics sintered at $1325^{\circ}C$, the dielectric constant, quality factor and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency were 20.13, 7956(at 7.27GHz), +1.7568ppm/$^{\circ}C$, respectively.

Statistical Studies Based on SiO and $H_2O$ Maser Survey toward Evolved Stars

  • We report extensive statistical analyses based on the simultaneous observational results of SiO and $H_2O$ masers toward 166 known both SiO and $H_2O$ maser sources (Kim et al. 2010), 83 known SiO maser sources (Cho & Kim 2012 submitted), and 152 known $H_2O$ maser sources (Kim et al. 2012 in preparation). We investigate mutual relations between SiO and $H_2O$ maser properties (peak and total flux density ratios, full line width ratios, and velocity structures etc.) according to stellar pulsation phases and type of evolved stars. These statistical results are compared with monitoring observational results of some individual stars. In addition, a relation between the full line width of SiO/$H_2O$ masers and stellar mass loss rates is examined. For 401 observed stars, we also investigate characteristics of SiO and $H_2O$ maser properties related with evolutionary stages in the IRAS two-color diagram.

Observational Arc-Length Effect on Orbit Determination for Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter in the Earth-Moon Transfer Phase Using a Sequential Estimation

  • In this study, the observational arc-length effect on orbit determination (OD) for the Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) in the Earth-Moon Transfer phase was investigated. For the OD, we employed a sequential estimation using the extended Kalman filter and a fixed-point smoother. The mission periods, comprised between the perigee maneuvers (PM) and the lunar orbit insertion (LOI) maneuver in a 3.5 phasing loop of the KPLO, was the primary target. The total period was divided into three phases: launch-PM1, PM1-PM3, and PM3-LOI. The Doppler and range data obtained from three tracking stations [included in the deep space network (DSN) and Korea Deep Space Antenna (KDSA)] were utilized for the OD. Six arc-length cases (24 hrs, 48 hrs, 60 hrs, 3 days, 4 days, and 5 days) were considered for the arc-length effect investigation. In order to evaluate the OD accuracy, we analyzed the position uncertainties, the precision of orbit overlaps, and the position differences between true and estimated trajectories. The maximum performance of 3-day OD approach was observed in the case of stable flight dynamics operations and robust navigation capability. This study provides a guideline for the flight dynamics operations of the KPLO in the trans-lunar phase.

언어네트워크를 이용한 과학전람회 지구과학 부문 탐구주제 분석: 최근 21년(2000-2020년)을 중심으로 (Analysis of Research in Earth Science at the Science Fair Using the Semantic Network Analysis: Focus on the Last 21 Years (2000-2020))

  • 본 연구는 과학전람회에 출품된 지구과학 부문 탐구주제를 분석하여 학교에서 이루어지는 지구과학 탐구활동을 살펴봄으로써 지구과학 출품작 중 주제 특성을 파악하는 데 기여하는 데 목적을 지닌다. 이를 위해 과학전람회 누리집에 게시된 지구과학 부문 출품작 중 2000년부터 2020년까지 21년 동안 다루어진 자료 총 566점을 대상으로 하였으며, 분석틀을 기준으로 언어네트워크를 분석하였다. 그 결과 지구과학 출품 작품으로 지질과학이 가장 활발하게 탐구가 이루어졌다. 특히, 층서/퇴적/화석/지사학 영역과 관련된 중생대 백악기 시대의 화석이 주를 이루었다. 이들과 함께 천문 및 우주과학, 대기과학 영역에 해당하는 핵심어가 작은 규모의 네트워크를 이루고 있었다. 천문 및 우주과학은 주로 태양과 달, 지구를 주제로 갖는 태양 흑점, 달 위상 등 탐구활동에서 소행성, 금성과 목성과 같은 태양계 구성 천체의 역학적 특징에 대해 다루고 있었다. 대기과학은 대기물리를 중심으로 대기 관측/분석기술, 대기역학, 대기질감시 등에 대해 다루어졌으며, 해양과학은 물리해양학과 지질해양학 등에 관해 탐구가 제한적으로 이루어진 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 학교 현장에서 지구과학 탐구주제를 선정하고 탐구활동을 수행하는 데 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

인터넷내용규제 입법과정에 관한 정책네트워크 분석 (Policy Network Analysis on the Legislation Process of Internet Contents Regulation)

  • 이 논문은 정책네트워크의 시각을 바탕으로 $2000{\sim}2001$년에 전개된 인터넷내용규제 입법과정을 세 가지 국면으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 제1국면에서는 정보통신부가 내용등급제 도입을 골자로 하는 정보통신망이용촉진에 관한 법률 개정안을 발표하면서 상당한 논쟁이 촉발되었다. 제1국면의 주요 행위자는 정보통신부, 정보통신윤리위원회, 반대단체, 네티즌이었다. 제1국면에서는 갈등적 상호작용이 지배적이었으며 권력의 집중성이 없는 분산형 구조를 보였다. 제2국면에서는 국회의 심의 의결과정을 거쳐 내용등급제가 삭제된 형태로 정보통신망 이용촉진 및 정보보호등에 관한 법률이 공포되었다. 제2국면의 주요 행위자는 국회의원 정보통신부, 반대단체, 네티즌이었다. 제2국면에서도 갈등적 상호작용이 지배적이었으며 국회가 중심 행위자의 역할을 맡으면서 집중형의 구조를 보였다. 제3국면에서는 정보통신망이용촉진및정보보호등에관한법률이 공포된 후 시행령이 마련되는 과정을 거쳤다. 제3국면의 주요 행위자는 정보통신부, 정보통신윤리위원회, 반대단체였다. 제3국면에서는 갈등적 상호작용이 어느 정도 완화되는 형태를 보였고, 정보통신부가 의견을 조율하면서 집중형 구조가 유지되었다. 인터넷내용규제에 관한 논쟁이 적절히 종결될 수 있었던 배경으로는 관련 정부부처가 하나였다는 점, 해당 기술이 현실적 문제의 성격을 띠었다는 점, 관심집단이 동조집단으로 발전할 수 있었다는 점 등을 들 수 있다.

  • In the age where the Internet changes everything, even the earth has become flat. The boarders between nations, locations, times, and industries are not maningful, and no single company can do the whole process well. Therefore, various types of 'Value network' and 'Relation web' emerge for moving first and fast learning. Bort the relationship maturity model (RMM) proposed and the partnership management initiatives at SKT demonstrate that the concept is important, and that the final goal can be reached only through a series of critical outcome at each phase. In particular, recognizing as core infrastructures various online/offline channels, deep trust, and rich communications is an important finding for a successful relationship management. Also, related literatures suggest the following key factors to be influential in more that two phases: professionalism including expertise, similarity, channel capacity. Based on these findings, future efforts need to be put on the research & development of related measurement and management tools. We do hope more people dance with their partners through these efforts.
