Purpose: The purpose of this study was to conduct a systematic assessment on the level of health status, and quality of life of the health care beneficiaries registered in health management programs of public health centers. In order to investigate the level of health status and the quality of life and to find factors affecting them, the PRECEDE model, that was developed by Green, et al. for the purpose of a comprehensive diagnostic research, was used. Method: The subjects were 81 residents who resided K-gu, Seoul. Data were collected from September, 1999 to August, 2000 using a self reported questionnaire. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, Kruskall-Wallis test, Pearson's correlation coefficient. and path analysis. Results: 1. The quality of life and the level of health promoting lifestyle were moderate or more, but were not significantly different by sex, age, marital status, educational level. occupation, and monthly household income. 2. Self-efficacy was significantly correlated to be a perceived benefit, social support and health-promoting lifestyle. Perceived benefit had a significant correlation with social support and health promoting lifestyle. There was also a significant correlation between the level of satisfaction, and the availability of the health promotion program. 3. Social support, health promoting lifestyle, and health status were found to influence the quality of life directly, whereas self efficacy and perceived benefit affected the quality of life indirectly through social support. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the health promotion program should include strategies to strengthen self efficacy and perceived benefit to enhance social support, and to encourage health promoting behaviors in order to improve the quality of life of the health care beneficiary.
This study investigates the effects of authentic leadership and organizational supports on the organizational citizens behavior of public welfare facility employee. Structural equation model with four latent variables were constructed to test the hypothetical relationships between variables. Out of 230 people from welfare facilities in Yong-in City were sampled and 216 were answered the questionnaire. Results suggests that authentic leadership and organizational support perceptions were shown to have a positive(+) significant effects on the job engagement and organizational citizenship behavior. Authentic leadership and perceived organizational support are effected as a direct positive effect on job engagement, and the influence of perceived organizational support was recognized as greater fact than the authentic leadership. Variable 'job engagement' took a intermediating role between two independent variables and organizational citizenship behavior. Based on the hypothesis test results we might conclude that welfare facility employee whose task require emotional engagement need to be supported by systematic plan of material resources.

Purpose: The principal objective of this study was to assess correlations among the self-efficacy, social support networks, and health behavior of undergraduate students. Methods: The data were collected via questionnaires that investigated self- efficacy, social support networks, health behaviors, health-related factors, and general characteristics. A total of 310 subjects were selected and evaluated for a 3-week period. The data of 300 subjects were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and correlation, after 10 questionnaires had been excluded due to incomplete data. Results: We noted significant differences and impacts on self-efficacy according to the grade, perceived health status, and BMI. Social support networks differed significantly according to dwelling type and pocket money. Health behavior differed depending on the gender, major, dwelling type, religion, health status, and BMI. We noted a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy & social support networks, and between social support networks & health behavior, but we noted no significant correlation between self-efficacy & health behavior. Conclusion: Health care providers should focus on self-efficacy and social support networks in order to prevent bad health behavior among undergraduates.
The chances of disease pattern increased the importance of Health-promoting Lifestyle and a large part of the Health-promoting Lifestyle is associated with individual's habit. Health-promoting Lifestyle among nurses is very important because nurses could be a role model of patients and possibly influence many patients. The purpose of this study was oat on1y to assess how hospital nurses practice their Health-promoting Lifestyle but also to identify those affecting determinants. The subjects were 392 nurses working at 3 different hospital in Seoul. These data were collected by self administered questionnaire from April 27 to May 20, 2000. This study examined Health-promoting Lifestyle using In Sook Park's model, individual characteristics. Behavior-specific Cognitions and Affect factors using Pender's model and tried to fine out their relationships. The instruments used in this study were Health-promoting Lifestyle Profile developed by In Sock Park(1995). Likert's four-point scale was used also in this research. The percentage, mean standard deviation, AVNOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression in the SAS package were used to analyze the data. The results of this study were as follows; 1. 52.3% of sample were aged between 25 and 29, 67.1% were single, 55.6% were university graduates, 51.8% earned 1.5 to 2.0 million won, 57.9% slept for d to 8 hours, 74.5% stated they were healthy. 2. 32.7% of sample worked in surgical gird department, 82.4% worked in 3 shift, 26.3% have been working as nurses for 5 to 7 years. Average score of Perceived self-efficacy was 3.63, Perceived benefits of action was 3.25, Social support was 2.75, and Perceived barriers to action was 1.87 which was the lowest score. 3. The average score if the performance in Health-promoting Lifestyle variable was 2.45 which was lower than previous study. The sanitary life Was 3.18 which was the highest score, harmonious relationship 3.13, emotional support 2.90. The variable with the highest degree of performance was the sanitary life, whereas the one with the west degree was the health diet. 4. There were no significant difference in perceived benefits of action with individual's a character, but in Perceived bait his of action there were significant differences with age(p<.01), marital status(p<.05), housing(p<.05), and Perceived health status(p<.05). In Perceived self-efficacy, there were significant differences with educational level(p<05), sleeping hours(p<.05), and BMI(p<.05). In Social support here were significant difference with housing and sleeping hours.
Purpose: This study was designed to determine the predictors of postpartum depression. Method: One hundred-sixty one women within one year after delivery from one public health center located in the northern area of Seoul were used in this study. The instruments were a survey of general characteristics, the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, recent life events index, perceived social support from family, Quality of marriage index, parenting stress index, and Rosenberg's self-esteem inventory. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, and logistic regression. Result: The average item score of the EPDS was 6.67. 12.4% of respondents, who scored above a threshold 12, were likely to be suffering from a depression of varying severity. The fitness of the model for explaining postpartum depression from six variables, plan for pregnancy, family support, quality of marital relation, perceived social support, life events, childcare stress, and self-esteem, was statistically significant and the predictive power of these variables was 90.9%. The significant predictors of postpartum depression were family support and child care stress. Conclusion: Further research is needed to identify the prevalence rate of postpartum depression using more reliable sampling methods from a large general population. Nursing interventions need to be developed for promoting family support and reducing childcare stress.
This descriptive correlational study was conducted to identify the variables related to a health promoting behavior in nursing students. 238 nursing students were selected by a convenience sampling method. The data were collected by self - reported questionnaires from 12 to November 19, 2001. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, pearson correlation coefficient, stepwise multiple regression with an SPSS program. The result of this study were as follows: 1. The average score of health promoting behavior was 2.47(SD=0.36)of a 4 point scale. Self actualization (mean=2.94, SD=0.50), interpersonal support (mean=2.91, SD=0.53), stress management(mean=2.58, SD=0.48), health responsibility(mean=2.07, SD=0.48)) nutrition & exercise(mean=2.07, SD=0.48)) were also analyzed. 2. Health promoting behavior showed significant positive correlations with selfesteem(r=0.446, p<0.001) perceived health status(r=0.180, p<0.01), perceived benefits (r=0.183. p<0.01). self-efficacy(r=0.311, p<0.001), social support(r=0.447, p<0.001), control(r=0.169, p<0.01). 3. The combination of self-esteem, social support, affect related to action explained $38.0\%$ of the variance in health promoting behavior. On the basis of the above findings. self-esteem and social support were identified as the variables which explained most of Pender's health promoting model. Nursing strategies enhancing self-esteem and social support which have a more significant effect on health promoting lifestyles should be developed.
Purpose: To investigate the behavioural factors of the health promotion for caregivers based on a socio-ecological model. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional descriptive study using a self administered questionnaire. The survey was conducted in 219 people chosen through convenient sampling between September and December 2008. The collected information included general characteristics, individual, interpersonal, community, policy level. Results: For the statistical analysis, the t-test was used for the health promotion according to the general characteristics and to each level of the socio-ecological model, by assessing the high and low values and dividing them into mean points. The influence elicited by different health promotion factors was determined using the hierarchical multiple regression. At the individual level, the factors influencing health promotion in caregivers included perceived seriousness, perceived benefits, and self efficacy. Social support was important at interpersonal level, and the use of community resource was relevant for the community level. We found no statistically significant factors relating to the policy level. Conclusions: In conclusion, the socio-ecological models seems appropriate for explaining health promotion and its associated factors in caregivers. We suggest that, for caregivers, strategies should be developed for their social support and to offer information about how to use community resources in relation with factors relating to the individual level.
The study was performed to provide basic data for developing a coordinated health and social service model. Method: The subjects consisted of 1000 residents in Wonju city. The sampling process was randomized stratified into 26 geographical areas. The data was collected from Apr. 16nd, to May. 15nd, 2002 by using a structured questionnaire that included general characteristics, the patterns of disease, the family function and the community support systems. The collected data was analyzed by the SPSS. windows program via descriptive statistics, correlation testing and t-tests. Result: 61.7% of the elderly perceived their health status as being poor. There were correlations among age, income and the way clients perceived their health status. The prevalence rate of chronic disease was 70.8% in the elderly. The prevalence rate for arthritis was the highest (33.6%). The average number of diseases in the target populations was 2.31; it was 2.65 in the deprived elderly group and 2.47 in the elderly group. 35.4% of residents did not have any family care giver. 61.2% of the clients needed support by the health and social services. Conclusions; Coordinated health and social services need to be allocated by priority to the elderly and to the socially and economic deprived clients.

As the importance of strengthening the competency of managers who are in charge of cash collection and disbursement, and preparing for financial statements becomes more visible, this study examined the competency of middle-level managers of accounting department in general hospitals in Korea. Based on the literature, competency was measured by seven components: achievement and action, service, influence, management, cognition, individual effectiveness, and change management. Survey questionnaires included the respondents' perceived importance and performance of each of the seven components of competency. A total of 84 managers from 29 general hospitals responded to the survey between October 2015 and November 2015. Descriptive statistics, mean comparison (t-tests and ANOVAs), and multiple linear regression were conducted. The results of this study are as follows. Overall perceived importance of the competency was 4.16, while the performance was 3.87, and thus, the difference was 0.29. Among the seven components of the competency, cognition and change management had higher scores in terms of difference between the importance and performance. The regression analyses found that female managers had higher perceived importance and performance of competencies in achievement and action, and influence compared to male counterparts. In addition, participants in this study responded that main reasons for the gap between the perceived importance and performance are low compensation, lack of support, lack of knowledge, insufficient technical experience, excessive workload, and regulations. The results of this study can be used when designing capacity building training opportunities for the hospital accounting department. Also, the managers may evaluate themselves and look at the areas where they can narrow the gap between the perceived importance and performance of the competency that is required for today's leading managers.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship between emotional labor, job stress, perceived organizational support and job satisfaction for the health promotion program personnel. The subjects were 126 in charge of the health promotion program. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 23.0 for the independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and structural equation modeling. There were significant differences in emotional labor by age and marital status (p<.05), job stress by religion (p<.01) and job satisfaction by career, religion and marital status (p<.01). The indirect effect of emotional labor on job satisfaction was -0.315, and no direct effect was found. The indirect effect of job stress on job satisfaction was -0.288, and the direct effect was -0.228. The direct effect of perceived organizational support on job satisfaction was -0.507. These results can be used as baseline data to develop alternatives and intervention programs to enhance job satisfaction.
