Linking Omnichannel Integration Quality and Customer Loyalty in Vietnamese Banks

  • Purpose: This study investigates the complex dynamics of consumer behavior in Vietnamese banking omnichannel environments, focusing on the roles of service consistency, service transparency, flow, perceived privacy risk, and loyalty intention. Research design, data and methodology: Using a sample of 422 Vietnamese bank customers, data analysis revealed significant relationships among the variables under investigation. Results: Firstly, service consistency was found to positively influence flow experiences and negatively impact perceived privacy risk, highlighting the importance of uniform service quality across channels in enhancing consumer engagement while mitigating privacy concerns. Similarly, service transparency was positively associated with flow experiences and negatively associated with perceived privacy risk, underscoring the importance of transparent information dissemination in fostering immersive consumer experiences while alleviating privacy apprehensions. Furthermore, both flow experiences and perceived privacy risk significantly influenced loyalty intentions, indicating the pivotal roles of engaging experiences and data security in driving consumer loyalty. Additionally, mediated relationships were observed, demonstrating the interplay between service consistency, service transparency, flow, perceived privacy risk, and loyalty intention in shaping consumer behavior in omnichannel contexts. Conclusions: These findings provide valuable insights for retailers and marketers seeking to optimize consumer experiences and cultivate loyalty in omnichannel environments by prioritizing consistency, transparency, and data privacy protection.

The Impact of An Interaction between Product Quality and Perceived Risk on Seller Profit

  • Purpose: This study examines the effect of full information disclosure on seller profit when there exists information asymmetry between sellers and buyers, focusing on the risk averseness of buyers. By investigating the interaction between product quality and perceived risk through online sales data, we attempt to figure out the incentive structure of full information disclosure specifically when buyers are risk-averse, so that we can suggest more feasible information disclosure strategy to sellers. Research design, data and methodology: Our empirical model analyzes the sales data of collectible goods from a major online seller using Poisson regression. In our model, we have specifically considered risk-averseness of buyers by estimating the interaction effect between the product quality and perceived risk on seller profit, aiming for a more precise empirical analysis on sellers' incentive structure of full disclosure. Results: Our empirical analysis strongly supports the effect of interaction between product quality and perceived risk, showing that the incentive for full disclosure is much stronger when product quality is higher, and vice versa. Therefore, sellers are strongly encouraged to voluntarily reveal product weaknesses when their product quality is higher than average, while it is more profitable to hide any product defects when quality claim is lower than average. Conclusions: This study supports the related literature by confirming economic incentives for full disclosure, and also supplements and strengthens previous studies by presenting that the effect of interaction between product quality and perceived risk strongly affects seller profit. Our unique finding supports both mandatory disclosure and voluntary disclosure arguments and presents practical implications to marketing managers by suggesting that seller's incentive for revealing weaknesses depends on the level of seller's product quality.

중국 상하이 지역 치과의 서비스품질이 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 -지각된 가치의 매개효과를 중심으로- (A Study on the effect of Dental Service Quality on Satisfaction -Focusing on the Mediation Effect of Perceived Value-)

  • 수익성을 앞세운 과열 경쟁으로 인한 경영 여건의 악화에도 불구하고 중국의 치과 수는 매년 증대되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 상하이 지역의 치과 서비스품질이 만족도에 미치는 영향과 지각된 가치의 매개효과를 검증하는 데에 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 중국 상하이 지역 치과 환자를 대상으로 전자 설문을 실시하고 유효표본 345부를 회수하여 연구의 목적에 맞게 SPSS 26.0을 이용하였다. 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서비스품질의 모든 요인은 만족도와 지각된 가치에 긍정적 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 지각된 가치는 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 지각된 가치는 서비스품질과 만족도 간의 관계에서 부분 매개효과를 보이는 것으로 분석되었으며, 중국과 한국의 치과 사용자들에 대한 연구는 거의 유사한 결과를 나타내고 있다. 따라서 치과의 고품질 서비스가 경영능력 제고에 필수적이라는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

모바일 인스턴트 메신저 및 플랫폼 신뢰도가 모바일 콘텐츠 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 카카오플랫폼과 카카오톡 이모티콘을 중심으로 (The Impact of Trust in Mobile Instant Messenger and Platform on Mobile Contents Purchase Intention: Focusing on Kakao Platform and KakaoTalk Emoticon)

  • Purpose Mobile phones increase the frequency and speed of communication. The most popular mobile application in Korea is KakaoTalk, one of the mobile instant messenger(MIM) services. Although studying mobile services such as SMS, SNS and SNG suggests drawing upon theories in marketing, consumer behavior, psychology to investigate their personal use, research on MIM is scarce. We designed this paper to fill this gap. More specifically, this study is focused on the relationships among consumers psychological variables related to purchase intention to emoticons in context of MIM. Design/methodology/approach Data was obtained from 310 KakaoTalk users in Korea via questionnaire. The data was analyzed by structural equation modeling in order to verify the relationship between variables in the model. Specifically, this study is designed to examine the structural relationships among perceived benefits, perceived risks, trust in messenger service, system quality, trust in platform, and emoticons purchase intention. Findings The findings of this study are as follow. First, perceived benefits and perceived risks had a significant impact on trust in MIM service(e.g. KakaoTalk). Specifically, while perceived benefits had a positive effect on trust in MIM service, perceived risks had a negative effect on trust in MIM service. Second, trust in messenger service also had a positive impact on system quality. Third, trust in messenger service and system quality had a positive effect on trust in platform(e.g. Kakao platform) directly. Lastly, trust in platform had a positive influence on emoticons purchase intention in KakaoTalk messenger.

경영자몰입이 컨설팅품질 지각에 미치는 영향 - 정부지원 융복합컨설팅을 중심으로 - (Effect of Management Commitment on Perceived Consulting Quality - Focusing on Government Supported Convergence Consulting -)

  • 본 연구는 중소기업 대상의 정부지원 융복합컨설팅에 있어 경영자몰입이 지각된 컨설팅 과정품질 및 결과 품질에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 진행하였다. 정부지원 컨설팅을 경험한 중소기업을 대상으로 실증분석을 실시하였으며 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경영자몰입은 컨설턴트수행품질지각에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 경영자몰입은 정부지원품질지각에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 경영자몰입은 컨설팅결과품질지각에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 컨설턴트수행품질지각은 컨설팅결과품질지각에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 정부지원품질지각은 컨설팅결과품질지각에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 컨설팅에 대한 경영자몰입과 컨설턴트역량 및 정부의 제도적 지원을 강화할 필요가 있음을 시사하고 있으며, 중소기업에 대한 정부의 컨설팅지원 사업에 있어 수요자 및 공급자 측면을 고려한 정책적 방향성을 제시하였다는데 의의가 있다.

개인정보 침해위험이 이용의도에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 - 국내은행의 스마트뱅킹 서비스 중심으로 (Empirical Validation of Personal Information Violation Risks with Use Intention : Focusing on Domestic Smart Banking Services)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is how personal information protection risks affect the intention to use domestic smart banking services. VAM(Value based Adoption Model) model is validated as a theoretical background, selecting ease of use, usefulness and perceived security as a benefit factor, and considers perceived cost, technical complexity, and risk of personal information leakage as a sacrifice factor. Methods: The method of this study used questionnaire survey to collect 365 data on suer's perception on smart banking services, and also performed a structural equation modeling method using by AMOS 23. Results: The result of this paper shows that all hypothesis are accepted statistically significant except 1 hypothesis. Conclusion: This research is concluded that perceived value is affected on statistically positive impact on ease of use, usefulness and perceived security, and negative impact on perceived cost and risk of personal information violation, not statistically technical complexity.

UHDTV서비스 이용에 대한 구조 모형 분석: 상징성 조절효과 (Structural Model Analysis on UHDTV Service Usage: Control Effects of Symbolism)

  • 본 연구에서는 UHD방송 이용에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 중심으로 구조모형 분석을 실시했다. UHDTV에 대한 인지된 품질, 개인의 혁신성향, 가격 민감도 등 독립변인이 인지된 유용성과 인지된 사용용이성에 미치는 영향, 나아가 이것들이 UHDTV 이용의사에 미치는 영향을 분석했다. 특히 신기술 채택이 갖는 상징성 요인에 주목해 이를 조절변인으로 사용했다. PLS로 분석한 연구결과, 인지된 품질의 영향력 계수가 다른 변인에 비해 크게 높았다. UHD콘텐츠 등 이용자가 기대하는 서비스 품질, 사용경험(UX)이 가장 중요한 요소임을 알 수 있다. 그러나 상징성과 인지된 품질이 결합된 조절효과는 인지된 유용성에 (-)영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나, 이용자들이 UHD이용의 상징성을 중요하게 생각할수록 UHD품질과 유용성에 대한 평가가 부정적인 것을 알 수 있다. 2017년 5월 지상파 UHD본방송 시작과 함께, 무엇보다 이용자들이 원하는 양질의 콘텐츠 제작과 유통이 가장 큰 과제로 남는다.

The Effects of Country-Of-Online Retailer on Consumer's Purchase Decision-Making in a Foreign Internet Shopping Mall

  • Purpose - The growth in consumers' online shopping has even been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. While the purchase can be made from any countries online, the purpose is to examine the effect of the country of the online retailer (COOR) on consumers' perceived risk and purchase motivation, focusing on the retailer not on the brand. Design/methodology - Survey data from online shoppers are analized using the structural equation model. Findings - COOR, like COO of the brand manufacturer, positively affect consumer's purchase intension. First, the images and the perceived psychic distances of the COOR affects both perceived risk and purchase confidence. Secondly, this perceived risk and confidence they put on the transaction then affect the purchase intension of the consumer. Originality/value - We show that the quality of the signal comes not only from the manufacturer-branded product item itself with a certain COO, but also from the retailer who carries it.

정보시스템의 실제 이용에 대한 연구: 모바일 서비스 시스템 품질을 중심으로 (A Study on Actual Usage of Information Systems: Focusing on System Quality of Mobile Service)

  • Information systems (IS) have become ubiquitous and changed every aspect of how people live their lives. While some IS have been successfully adopted and widely used, others have failed to be adopted and crowded out in spite of remarkable progress in technologies. Both the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the IS Success Model (ISSM), among many others, have contributed to explain the reasons of success as well as failure in IS adoption and usage. While the TAM suggests that intention to use and perceived usefulness lead to actual IS usage, the ISSM indicates that information quality, system quality, and service quality affect IS usage and user satisfaction. Upon literature review, however, we found a significant void in theoretical development and its applications that employ either of the two models, and we raise research questions. First of all, in spite of the causal relationship between intention to use and actual usage, in most previous studies, only intention to use was employed as a dependent variable without overt explaining its relationship with actual usage. Moreover, even in a few studies that employed actual IS usage as a dependent variable, the degree of actual usage was measured based on users' perceptual responses to survey questionnaires. However, the measurement of actual usage based on survey responses might not be 'actual' usage in a strict sense that responders' perception may be distorted due to their selective perceptions or stereotypes. By the same token, the degree of system quality that IS users perceive might not be 'real' quality as well. This study seeks to fill this void by measuring the variables of actual usage and system quality using 'fact' data such as system logs and specifications of users' information and communications technology (ICT) devices. More specifically, we propose an integrated research model that bring together the TAM and the ISSM. The integrated model is composed of both the variables that are to be measured using fact as well as survey data. By employing the integrated model, we expect to reveal the difference between real and perceived degree of system quality, and to investigate the relationship between the perception-based measure of intention to use and the fact-based measure of actual usage. Furthermore, we also aim to add empirical findings on the general research question: what factors influence actual IS usage and how? In order to address the research question and to examine the research model, we selected a mobile campus application (MCA). We collected both fact data and survey data. For fact data, we retrieved them from the system logs such information as menu usage counts, user's device performance, display size, and operating system revision version number. At the same time, we conducted a survey among university students who use an MCA, and collected 180 valid responses. A partial least square (PLS) method was employed to validate our research model. Among nine hypotheses developed, we found five were supported while four were not. In detail, the relationships between (1) perceived system quality and perceived usefulness, (2) perceived system quality and perceived intention to use, (3) perceived usefulness and perceived intention to use, (4) quality of device platform and actual IS usage, and (5) perceived intention to use and actual IS usage were found to be significant. In comparison, the relationships between (1) quality of device platform and perceived system quality, (2) quality of device platform and perceived usefulness, (3) quality of device platform and perceived intention to use, and (4) perceived system quality and actual IS usage were not significant. The results of the study reveal notable differences from those of previous studies. First, although perceived intention to use shows a positive effect on actual IS usage, its explanatory power is very weak ($R^2$=0.064). Second, fact-based system quality (quality of user's device platform) shows a direct impact on actual IS usage without the mediating role of intention to use. Lastly, the relationships between perceived system quality (perception-based system quality) and other constructs show completely different results from those between quality of device platform (fact-based system quality) and other constructs. In the post-hoc analysis, IS users' past behavior was additionally included in the research model to further investigate the cause of such a low explanatory power of actual IS usage. The results show that past IS usage has a strong positive effect on current IS usage while intention to use does not have, implying that IS usage has already become a habitual behavior. This study provides the following several implications. First, we verify that fact-based data (i.e., system logs of real usage records) are more likely to reflect IS users' actual usage than perception-based data. In addition, by identifying the direct impact of quality of device platform on actual IS usage (without any mediating roles of attitude or intention), this study triggers further research on other potential factors that may directly influence actual IS usage. Furthermore, the results of the study provide practical strategic implications that organizations equipped with high-quality systems may directly expect high level of system usage.

소비자의 브랜드 글로벌성 인식이 브랜드 속성 평가에 미치는 영향: 인과관계에 대한 사고방식의 조절역할을 중심으로 (The Impact of Perceived Brand Globalness on Brand Attributes Evaluation: focusing on the Moderating Role of Thinking Style about Causality)

  • 본 연구는 소비자의 브랜드 글로벌성 인식(Perceived brand globalness: PBG)과 브랜드 속성 평가 간의 관계를 확인하고, 이러한 관계에 대해 인과관계에 관한 사고방식의 차이가 미치는 조절역할을 살펴보았다. 인과관계에 대한 사고방식은 상호작용주의와 성향주의로 구분된다. 개인주의 문화는 인과관계에 대한 사고방식이 성향주의인 경향을 보이고, 집단주의 문화는 상호작용주의인 경향을 보인다. 인과관계에 대한사고방식의 차이에 따라 브랜드 글로벌성 효과가 달라진다는 것을 확인하기 위하여, 집단주의 문화를 대표하는 한국인 대학생 표본과 개인주의 문화권 학생 표본을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하였고, 이를 통해 수집한 결과를 실증 분석하였다. 분석결과, 소비자가 브랜드의 글로벌성을 높게 인식할수록, 브랜드의 품질, 명성, 가격에 대하여 높게 인식함을 확인하였다. 또한 인과관계에 대한사고방식이 성향주의인 개인주의 문화권 학생들보다, 상호작용주의인 한국인 대학생에게서 브랜드 글로벌성 인식이 브랜드 품질 인식과 명성 인식에 미치는 긍정적 효과가 더 크게 나타났다. 반면 가격 인식에 대한 브랜드 글로벌성 효과는 한국인 대학생과 개인주의 문화권 출신 학생들 사이에 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 즉 인과관계에 대한 사고방식은 브랜드 글로벌성 인식과 브랜드품질, 명성 인식 간의 관계에 조절역할을 하지만, 브랜드 글로벌성 인식과 가격인식 간의 관계에 조절역할을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.
