In this paper, using nonsmooth analysis, we established equivalence results between a locally Lipschitz vector optimization problem and its associated approximated problem under the proper efficiency.
We establish necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for a nonsmooth fractional robust optimization programming problems. Moreover, we prove the weak and strong duality theorems under (V, ${\rho}$)-invexity assumption.

A Metropolis genetic algorithm (MGA) is a newly-developed hybrid algorithm combining simple genetic algorithm (SGA) and simulated annealing (SA). In the algorithm, favorable features of Metropolis criterion of SA are incorporated in the reproduction operations of SGA. This way, MGA alleviates the disadvantages of finding imprecise solution in SGA and time-consuming computation in SA. It has been successfully applied and the efficiency has been verified for the practical structural design optimization. However, applicability of MGA for the wider range of problems should be rigorously proved through the solution of mathematical optimization problems. Thus, performances of MGA for the typical mathematical problems are investigated and compared with those of conventional algorithms such as SGA, micro genetic algorithm (${\mu}GA$), and SA. And, for better application of MGA, the effects of acceptance level are also presented. From numerical Study, it is again verified that MGA is more efficient and robust than SA, SGA and ${\mu}GA$ in the solution of mathematical optimization problems having various features.
This paper presents a development of an educational simulator of particle swarm optimization (PSO) and application for solving the test functions and economic dispatch (ED) problems with nonsmooth cost functions. A particle swarm optimization is one of the most powerful methods for solving global optimization problems. It is a population-based search algorithm and searches in parallel using a group of particles similar to other AI-based heuristic optimization techniques. In developed simulator, lecturers and students can select the functions for simulation and set the parameters that have an influence on PSO performance. To improve searching capability for ED problems, a crossover operation is proposed to the position update of each individual (CR-PSO). To verify the feasibility of CR-PSO method, numerical studies have been performed for two different sample systems. The proposed CR-PSO method outperforms other algorithms in solving ED problems.

The article is devoted to mathematical modeling of prob-lems of stochastic optimization of the plastic metal working. Classifi-cation and mathematical statements of such problems are proposed. Several calculation techniques of the single goal function are pre-sented. The probability theory and the Fuzzy numbers were applied for solution of the problems of stochastic optimization.
In [1], Mishra and Wang established relationships between vector variational-like inequality problems and non-smooth vector optimization problems under non-smooth invexity in finite-dimensional spaces. In this paper, we generalize recent results of Mishra and Wang to infinite-dimensional case.
In this paper, we propose a new branch-reduction-and-bound algorithm to solve the nonlinear knapsack problems by using general discrete monotonic optimization techniques. The specific properties of the problem are exploited to increase the efficiency of the algorithm. Computational experiments of the algorithm on problems with up to 30 variables and 5 different constraints are reported.

Most engineering optimization are based on numerical linear and nonlinear programming methods that require substantial gradient information and usually seek to improve the solution in the neighborhood of a starting point. These algorithm, however, reveal a limited approach to complicated real-world optimization problems. If there is more than one local optimum in the problem, the result may depend on the selection of an initial point, and the obtained optimal solution may not necessarily be the global optimum. This paper describes a new harmony search(HS) meta-heuristic algorithm-based approach for structural size optimization problems with continuous design variables. This recently developed HS algorithm is conceptualized using the musical process of searching for a perfect state of harmony. It uses a stochastic random search instead of a gradient search so that derivative information is unnecessary. Two classical space truss optimization problems are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the HS algorithm. The results indicate that the proposed approach is a powerful search and optimization technique that may yield better solutions to structural engineering problems than those obtained using current algorithms.

In an attempt to solve multiobjective optimization problems, many traditional methods scalarize the objective vector into a single objective. In those cases, the obtained solution is highly sensitive to the weight vector used in the scalarization process and demands the user to have knowledge about the underlying problem. Moreover, in solving multiobjective problems, designers may be interested in a set of Pareto-optimal points, instead of a single point. In this paper, pareto-based Continuous Evolutionary Algorithms for Multiobjective Optimization problems having continuous search space are introduced. This algorithm is based on Continuous Evolutionary Algorithms to solve single objective optimization problems with a continuous function and continuous search space efficiently. For multiobjective optimization, a progressive reproduction operator and a niche-formation method fur fitness sharing and a storing process for elitism are implemented in the algorithm. The operator and the niche formulation allow the solution set to be distributed widely over the Pareto-optimal tradeoff surface. Finally, the validity of this method has been demonstrated through a numerical example.
Genetic Algorithms have been successfully applied to various problems (for example, engineering design problems with a mix of continuous, integer and discrete design variables) that could not have been readily solved with traditional computational techniques. But, several problems for which conventional Genetic Algorithms are ill defined are premature convergence of solution and application of exterior penalty function. Therefore, we developed an Improved Genetic Algorithms (IGAs) to solve above two problems. As a case study, IGAs is applied to several nonlinear optimization problems and it is proved that this algorithm is very useful and efficient in comparison with traditional methods and conventional Genetic Algorithm.
