Recently, there have been calls for approaching from the irrationality point of view to better explain the privacy paradox phenomenon. This study is a kind of response to them. The aim of the study is to investigate how satisfying competence needs, one of basic psychological needs suggested in self-determination theory, affects irrational information disclosure decision (i.e., risk-benefit assessment). To do this, the study builds an irrationality-based model in which competence needs satisfaction affects both perceived risks negatively and perceived benefits (i.e., relationship building and maintenance), which in turn determine a level of self-disclosure. Based on the data from Facebook users which is collected by a large sample survey (N=1050), the study analyzes it using Mplus, a powerful structure equation modeling tool. The study results reveal that while the relationship between competence needs satisfaction and perceived relationship building and maintenance is statistically significant, the relationship between competence needs satisfaction and perceived risks insignificant. These findings imply that people who is in a high level of competence needs satisfaction is more likely to respond to some opportunities for social benefits and in turn disclose more information about self.
Purpose: The aim of the present study was to identify the relationship between educational needs and the caregiving burden of primary caregivers with stroke patient. Methods: This cross-sectional and descriptive study was conducted in 2016 with 115 primary caregivers for stroke patients at a university hospital. The caregiving burden and educational needs were investigated using structured questionnaires via interviews. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, the t-test or ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics version 23.0. Results: The scores of caregiving burden and educational needs of primary caregiver with stroke patient were $77.65{\pm}1.66$ and $123.33{\pm}2.37$, respectively. The caregiving burden was associated with health status in primary caregivers' general characteristics. The caregiving burden and educational needs of primary caregivers have a significant correlation (r = .44, p <.001). Conclusions: Educational needs of primary caregivers with stroke patient are associated with their caregiving burden. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a primary caregiver centered intervention program considering educational needs to improve their caregiving burden. Also, to promote quality of nursing, there is the need to increase the educating competency of nurse and nursing professionalism of clinical nurse using various educational training program.
Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the symptoms and care needs of home-based hospice palliative patients in Busan and to provide a basic reference for developing practical guidelines for their care. Methods: By examining the registration cards of 409 hospice palliative patients, who were registered in community health centers in Busan as of 2016, this study retrospectively analyzed their characteristics, symptoms and care needs. Results: The average age was 70.6 years, 59.4% were receiving medical benefits, and 48.4% lived alone. As per the data obtained from the Palliative Performance Scale, many were able to mobile. Fatigue was the most severe and depression and anxiety were reported together, and their care needs were also high. Most subjects reported mild or low pain, but care needs were high. Furthermore, the medical benefits group showed a high level of symptoms and care needs across areas. Conclusions: To help subjects to live in their homes for as long as possible, it is necessary to identify symptoms and care needs and provide services in accordance with their severity and situation. Thus, it is necessary to develop practical guidelines for standardized community hospice palliative care services.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the current status of discharge education and nursing needs of children after musculoskeletal surgery. Methods: The literature from research databases was reviewed and analyzed (using PubMed, RISS review, KISS, and Dbpia). Results: Children who have undergone musculoskeletal surgery face physical challenges due to the effects of splints and immobilization, and experience pain for a long time. Therefore, home care after discharge is of paramount importance in these cases. The discharge education needs of each patient vary with regard to the topic and period. Discharge education should be systematic and consistent, with an emphasis on understanding the needs of the patients and parents. Conclusion: While there are studies on the nursing needs of adult musculoskeletal surgery patients at discharge, studies on discharge nursing needs in children who have undergone musculoskeletal surgery are still insufficient. It is necessary to specifically identify the educational needs of parents of children undergoing musculoskeletal surgery. Interventions that improve the voluntary participation of patients and parents in active self-care need to be developed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the association between unmet healthcare needs due to financial reasons and catastrophic health expenditures. Methods: This study used secondary data from the 2014~2015 Korean Health Panel survey. The subjects of this study were 21,495 people aged 20 or older, and of them, there were 16,227 people aged 20 to 64 and 5,268 people aged 65 or older, which were surveyed between 2014 and 2015. The association between unmet healthcare needs due to financial reasons and catastrophic health expenditures was analyzed through logistic regression. Results: In 2015, 1.7% of people aged 20~64 years and 7.9% of those aged 65 or older experienced unmet healthcare needs due to financial reasons. In the 20~64 age group, people who repeatedly experienced catastrophic health expenditures (=10%,=20%) were less likely to experience unmet healthcare needs due to financial reasons than those who did not experience catastrophic health expenditures for two years (OR=0.50, OR=0.41). However, in the 65-or-older group, people who repeatedly experienced catastrophic health expenditures (=20%) were more likely to experience unmet healthcare needs due to financial reasons than those who did not experience catastrophic health expenditures for two years (OR=1.68). Conclusion: A greater percentage of the elderly repeatedly faced both catastrophic health expenditures and unmet healthcare needs due to financial reasons compared to the non-elderly.
Purpose: In adults with chronic diseases, unmet healthcare needs are likely to increase the risk of worsening the illness and complications. This study was conducted to explore factors affecting unmet healthcare needs among adults with chronic diseases. Methods: A cross sectional study was performed using the data from the seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES VII), 2016-2017. The sample of this study consisted of 6,104 adults with chronic diseases. The data were analyzed by Rao-Scott 𝑥2 test and logistic regression using complex samples analysis. Results: The proportion of subjects who experienced unmet healthcare needs was 10.9% of adults with chronic diseases. The factors affecting unmet healthcare needs of adults with chronic diseases were age, gender, employment status, household income, subjective health status, activity limitation, and perceived stress. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that various factors may be associated with their unmet healthcare needs. Finally, the development of strategies to reduce unmet healthcare needs for people with chronic diseases should consider the associated factors presented in the study.

Purpose: A care coordinator is an emerging nursing professional role in South Korea. The purpose of this study was to identify educational needs and priorities for care coordinators among nurses. Methods: An online survey was conducted on 661 current or retired nurses from January 30 to February 28, 2021. A total of 17 essential competencies for care coordinators, recognized based on literature review, were used to analyze the educational needs. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a paired t-test, and one-way analysis of variance with SPSS 25.0. The educational needs analysis was conducted by using a paired t-test, the Borich Needs Assessment Model, and the Locus for Focus Model. Results: Five contents were identified as the first priorities for educational needs: 'Health program planning and evaluation', 'Care planning', 'Coordinating community-based services', 'Case management', and 'Transitional care'. The second priorities for educational needs included 'Population health management' and 'Welfare resource linkages via communicating with social workers'. Conclusion: The priority items derived from this study offer underpinning insights for the development of care coordination training program.

Purpose: This study's aim was to investigate digital literacy, awareness of virtual reality, and educational needs of virtual reality-based nursing education among nursing students. Methods: Structured self-reported questionnaires were used to measure the nursing students' digital literacy, awareness, and educational needs of virtual reality. This study was conducted on 162 nursing students in Seoul between December 13 and December 24, 2021. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA with SPSS/WIN 24.0. Results: The mean scores on digital literacy, awareness, and educational needs of virtual reality were 4.38±0.42, 4.71±0.64, and 4.08±0.61, respectively. Concerning the educational needs of the subjects, the need for safety education was the highest, followed by the need for oxygenation education, elimination education, and activity and exercise education. Significant relationships were found between digital literacy and the awareness of virtual reality (r=.34, p<.001), between digital literacy and the educational needs of virtual reality (r=.17, p=.028), and between awareness and the educational needs of virtual reality (r=.51, p<.001). Conclusion: This study suggests that it is necessary to develop a virtual reality-based nursing educational program that reflects the educational needs of nursing students.
Purpose - Based on the funding-horizon theory, this study aims to test the effects of cash needs and the persistence of external funding needs on firms' external financing. Design/methodology/approach - Financial data of Korean listed companies were collected from DataGuide. Immediate and near-term cash shortfalls are defined using the methodology of Haung and Ritter (2021). We estimate multinomial logit regressions for the financing choice. Findings - First, all three cash depletion variables used in our study increase the likelihood of external financing. Second, firms prefer to issue debt to meet immediate spending and equity to meet long-lived cash needs. Third, this effect is more pronounced for high R&D firms. Fourth, chaebol firms with internal capital markets defer raising external capital for immediate and near-term cash needs. Research implications or Originality - This paper provide empirical evidence that immediate and near-term cash needs induce external financing, and the persistence of cash needs affects the choice between debt and equity, the finding which is consistent with the funding-horizon theory of financing decisions. Being the first paper to test the funding-horizon theory using Korean data, this paper contributes to the literature on the capital structure of Korean firms.

Objectives: This study was conducted to describe child perceived health knowledge, health education needs, and health behaviors by grade in a representative general characteristic and examined their associations for students' better health behaviors. Methods: The survey participants were 410 fourth to sixth grade students in two elementary schools in Seoul, Korea. A total of 12 classes in two elementary schools were randomly selected and all students of the selected classes participated in the self-administered survey. The questionnaire contained the items of perceived health knowledge, health education needs(health topics which they want to know more), health behavior, and general characteristics. Results: Perceived health knowledge, health education needs, and health behaviors were, generally, better in the $4^{th}$ grade students than $5^{th}$ or $6^{th}$ grade students. That is, higher grade students had lower perceived health knowledge, lower health education needs, and lower health behavior status. Specifically, there was significant grade differences in 'significance of publichealth,' 'nutritionandhealthyeating,' 'desirablehealthhabits,' 'humansex,' 'physical development in childhood,' 'stress management & drugcontrol,' and 'injury prevention.' Correlations between perceived health knowledge and health behavior were low or medium in all grades. However, correlations between perceived health education needs and health were significant in the $4^{th}$ grade students but not significant in the $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ grade students. Conclusions: There was significant grade difference of the relationship between health knowledge, health education needs, and health behaviors among children. In general, the lower the grade the better the health knowledge, educational needs, and health behavior. Health education needs were more significant by grade than perceived health knowledge and health behaviors.
