  • The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the determinants of occupational commitment of hospital nurses. For this study, a causal model of occupational commitment of hospital nurses was constructed based on the exchange theory. The sample of this study consisted of 329 nurses from S general hospitals located in Seoul and south-eastern area of Korea. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression. It was found that four task reward variables(variety, significance, workload and resource inadequacy), one social reward variable(supervisory support) and two organizational reward variables(promotional chances and pay) had significant net effect on hospital nurses' occupational commitment. The implications of these findings were discussed and the suggestions for future research wert advanced.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to clarify the conceptualizations of mandatory and reward that have come into focus in the definition of digital shadow work. And explore how users in a shared services environment view cost and coercion from the perspective of digital shadow work. Design/methodology/approach We conducted one-on-one interviews with 4 participants, with each interview being an average of 25 minutes. Based on literature review, stakeholder observation, and interviews on digital shadow work so far, very objective results can be derived through triangulation based on the basis of multiple sources. Findings According to the results of the preliminary study, there are some rewards for each type of digital shadow work, but time saving and service convenience are considered more than financial rewards. Unfair demands in determining whether to implement them in consideration of the difficulty and expected benefits of the demanding digital work can cause dissatisfaction with the service. Academic implications and future research directions are also discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the caregiving reward of grandmothers raising their infant grandchildren and to examine factors influencing rewards in double-earner households. Data were collected from 323 grandmothers raising infant grandchildren who are under 6 years of age in double-earner households in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and six metropolitan cities. According to the hierarchy multiple regression analysis, grandmothers' caregiving reward was found to be significantly high. It was also appeared that main factors of the rewards of grandmother were grandparents meaning, relationship with adult children and economic level. This study implies that improving grandparents meaning, relationship with adult children, and economic support may be a strategy to enhance the reward of grandmothers raising infant grandchildren. These findings suggest that there is a need to provide intervention and welfare policy for elderly caregiver.

  • The aim of this study to assess the effect of information security policy awareness, information security involvement, compliance behavioral intention on information security behavior The research method is composed of a cross-sectional design of reward and fairness. This paper focuses on the process of organizational policy on the information security compliance intention in the individual decision-making process. As a result, the reward had a significant effect on compliance behavioral intention, and it was found that influence of the psychological reward-based condition was greater than the material reward-based condition. The fairness had a significant effect on information security policy awareness, information security involvement, information security behavior, and it was found that influence of the equity-based condition was greater than the equality-based condition. The exploration model was verified as a multiple mediation model. In addition, the discussion presented the necessary research direction from the perspective of synergy by the cultural environment of individuals and organizations.

  • The rapid advancements of information technology and popularization of smart phones make people obtain the desired information through a variety of channels. In particular, consumers become to use a smart phone in their shopping in order to spend their money rationally. However, they have experienced inconvenience at being shopping by a smart phone because shopping information - reward(stamp), coupon, discount information, and so on - is distributed over multiple applications. To solve this problem, we propose the mobile stamper system that consumers can make good use of the reward(stamp) which is provided by various stores. The proposed system can improve the convenience of consumers by managing and integrating all stamps of multiple stores into our application.

  • We consider discrete-time factorial Markov Decision Processes (MDPs) in multiple decision-makers environment for infinite horizon average reward criterion with a general joint reward structure but a factorial joint state transition structure. We introduce the "localization" concept that a global MDP is localized for each agent such that each agent needs to consider a local MDP defined only with its own state and action spaces. Based on that, we present a gradient-ascent like iterative distributed algorithm that converges to a local optimal solution of the global MDP. The solution is an autonomous joint policy in that each agent's decision is based on only its local state.cal state.

  • This study examines how CEO leadership influences employee trust, job satisfaction, and commitment in fashion companies. A survey was conducted from June 17 to July 15 in 2009. The data were collected from fashion company employees in the Seoul metro area and 360 respondents were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are the transactional leadership of CEOs in fashion companies classified by contingent reward leadership and management through exceptional leadership. The transformational leadership of CEOs in fashion companies is classified by charismatic leadership and individualized consideration leadership. Second, CEO's contingent reward leadership, charismatic leadership, and individualized consideration leadership influence employee trust in the CEO. Third, the employee trust in the CEO has an effect on job satisfaction and commitment in fashion companies.

  • Task scheduling is an integrated component of computing with the emergence of grid computing. In this paper, we address two different task scheduling models, which are static Round-Robin (RR) and dynamic Fastest Site First (FSF) task scheduling method, using extended timed marked graphs, which is a special case of Stochastic Petri Nets (SPN). Stochastic reward nets (SRN) is an extension of SPN and provides compact modeling facilities for system analysis. We build hierarchical SRN models to compare two task scheduling methods. The upper level model simulates task scheduling and the lower level model implements task serving process for different sites with multiple servers. We compare these two models and analyze their performances by giving reward measures in SRN.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristics of nursing work environments based on department type and to investigate the relationship between work environment and job satisfaction. Methods : The participants were 420 nurses from the ward, emergency room, intensive care unit, and operation room. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and multiple regression test using the SPSS Win. 18.0 program. Results : The results were as follows: There was a significant difference in possibilities for development, meaning of work, recognition(reward), role clarity, and social community at work based on department type. The factors that influenced job satisfaction were influence, meaning of work, recognition(reward), role conflicts, and quality of leadership and these differed based on department type. Conclusions : The results of this study indicate that nursing work environments vary based on the type of hospital department. Therefore, it is necessary to develop diverse strategies for human resource management considering the type of department.

  • The purpose of this study were, (1) to analyze the effect of the selected variables on urban housewives' family resource management attitude and behavior, and (2) to identify the casual effects of variables on family resource management behavior. A sample of 641 was selected from housewives living in urban area. For data analysis, one-way ANOVA, DMR test, t-test, multiple regression, and path analysis were used. The major findings were as follows: 1. The housewives' family resource management behavior level was lower than their attitude level. 2. The family resource management attitude and behavior among the respondents were affected by the following independent variables : interest with environmental reports and newspapers, perception of time constraints, perception of economic reward. 3. The family resource management attitude had the greatest causal effect on the family resource management behavior.
