양극산화공정을 이용한 고세장비의 폴리머 마스터 제작 (Fabrication of Polymer Master with High Aspect Ratio by Using Anodic Aluminum Oxidation)

  • AAO(Anodic Aluminum Oxidation) method has been known that it is practically useful for the fabrication of nano-structures and makes it possible to fabricate the highly ordered nano masters on large surface and even on the 2.5 or 3D surface at low cost comparing to the expensive e-beam lithography or the conventional silicon processing. In this study, by using the multi-step anodizing and etching processes, highly ordered nano patterned master with concave shapes was fabricated. By varying the processing parameters, such as initial matter and chemical conditions; electrical and thermal conditions; time scheduling; and so on, the size and the pitch of the nano pattern can be controlled. Consequently, various alumina/aluminum nano structures can be easily available in any size and shape by optimized anodic oxidation in various aqueous acids. In order to replicate nano patterned master, the resulting good filled uniform nano molded structure through electro-forming process shows the validity of the fabricated nano pattern masters.

복합분해성 플라스틱 식품포장 필름의 제조 및 분해성 (Manufacturing Multi-degradable Food Packaging Films and Their Degradibility)

  • 사용할 때에는 보통 플라스틱처럼 각종 식품의 포장용기로써 안전하고 간편하게 쓸 수 있고 사용 후에는 태양광선, 토양에 존재하는 미생물, 매립지에서 발생되는 열 등에 의하여 쉽게 분해되는 환경친화적이고 무해한 플라스틱인 복합분해성 플라스틱 필름을 제조하여 그 분해성을 평가하였다. 복합분해 기능을 갖는 master batch(M/B)를 제조한 후 필름 성형기를 이용하여 롤리프로필렌(PP)에 M/B를 각각 10%, 20%씩 첨가하여 평균 두께 0.05mm의 필름을 가공한 다음 여러 환경인자들, 즉 자외선, 미생물, 열에 노출시켜 그 영향을 관찰하였다. M/B가 20% 첨가된 필름의 경우 자외선에 7주간 노출된 후 필름표면에 심한 균열이 발생하여 매우 취약해졌으며 인장시험기로 측정된 연신율도 M/B를 첨가하지 않고 제조된 필름에 비해 월등히 낮아짐을 확인할 수 있었다. $70^{\circ}C$에서 13주간 저장하면서 열분해성을 인장시험기로 측정한 결과에서도 M/B 첨가군과 대조군 간에 뚜렷한 차이를 관찰할 수 있었고 M/B를 20% 첨가하여 제조한 필름은 11주만에 성상이 이미 심하게 파괴되었음을 확인하였다. 또한 $30^{\circ}C$, 85% 상대습도 조건하에서 필름의 시편을 곰팡이 혼합 현탁액과 함께 60일간의 배양시험한 후 주사전자현미경(SEM)에 의하여 필름의 표면을 관찰한 결과 M/B를 첨가한 필름들이 M/B를 첨가하지 않은 대조군에 비해 미생물에 의한 공격을 쉽게 받아 필름의 분해가 촉진됨을 알 수 있었다.

Cooperative Synchronization and Channel Estimation in Wireless Sensor Networks

  • A critical issue in applications involving networks of wireless sensors is their ability to synchronize, and mitigate the fading propagation channel effects. Especially when distributed 'slave' sensors (nodes) reach-back to communicate with the 'master' sensor (gateway), low power cooperative schemes are well motivated. Viewing each node as an antenna element in a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) multi-antenna system, we design pilot patterns to estimate the multiple carrier frequency offsets (CFO), and the multiple channels corresponding to each node-gateway link. Our novel pilot scheme consists of non-zero pilot symbols along with zeros, which separate nodes in a time division multiple access (TDMA) fashion, and lead to low complexity schemes because CFO and channel estimators per node are decoupled. The resulting training algorithm is not only suitable for wireless sensor networks, but also for synchronization and channel estimation of single- and multi-carrier MIMO systems. We investigate the performance of our estimators analytically, and with simulations.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the planning concept and spatial characteristics of the multi-housing units in prize-wining works of design competition since 2007. Literature review and content analysis were used for this study and 199units over $59m^2$ were analyzed to review the planning concept, spatial composition and layout. The results of this study were as follows; 1)The planning concept of these units were divided into three aspects; that is, eco-friendly, rational and sustainable unit plan by means of functional, environmental-friendly and future-oriented aspects. 2)Most unit plans had 3LDK+2bath and 4Bay types including family room as a public space. This results shows that family-room and bathroom has recently become more important than number of rooms in multi-housing units planning. 2)In terms of the spatial composition of LDK and Master Bed room, LDK area become large, open type and master-zone were showed 'bed room+dress and powder room+bath' type. 3)The entrance has a intermediated space as a balcony or a former space and the privacy of LDK space was protected from the entrance. This study has a significant moaning on grasping current trend in Korean multi-housing and to provide Information for future direction on housing-unit design.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the spatial characteristics of the multi-housing units in Seoul and Kyung-gi area since 2006. Literature review and content analysis were used for this study and 82units of the big size over $165m^2$ were analyzed to review such design characteristics as spatial composition, layout and linkage. Through this study, the following conclusions have been reached; 1) Most unit plans had 4LDK and 3bath types including family room as a public space. This results shows that family-room and bathroom has recently become more important than number of rooms in multi-housing units planning. 2) Diversity of plan figures such as mass-mixing, mass-separation and polygons(L, V-type)was showed in most unit plan, breaking from the standardized forms of box types. 3) Intermediated spaces such as foyers and halls in entrance zone were planned and sub-entrance into kitchen were planned for the various types of circulation and work-efficiency. Cases had private space separated from public space, the dispersion of rooms with the increase of connection by corridors, L-DK meaning the living room isolated from the dining and kitchen, partially located living room for a view in area distribution. The spatial planning of master-zone mostly consists of the types of two-rooms and an entry into a foyer(library, dress-powder room, bathroom and master bedroom). This study has a significant meaning on grasping current trend in Korean multi-housing and to provide information for future direction on housing-unit design.

다채널 광섬유 레이저 및 다중 빔 정렬 기술 개발 (Development of Multi-channel Fiber Laser and Beam Alignment Method)

  • 타일형 결맞음 빔결합 연구를 위하여 시드 공유형 다채널 광섬유 레이저 및 출력단, 다중 빔 정렬 기술을 개발하였다. 광섬유 레이저는 7개의 채널을 갖고, 각각의 채널당 출력 10 W 이상으로 시드, 전치 증폭기, 광 분배기, 주 증폭기로 구성된 master oscillator power amplifier 구조이다. 레이저 빔 시준 및 정렬을 위하여 틸팅 기능이 가능한 출력단을 개발하였다. 출력단은 채움값을 높이기 위하여 원통형 구조로 제작하였으며, 광섬유 엔드캡의 결합이 가능하게 하였고, 출력단 내부에 PZT를 장착하여 틸팅 기능을 구현하였다. 다중 채널 레이저의 각 채널 빔을 표적의 한 점으로 정렬하기 위하여 stochastic parallel gradient decent (SPGD) 알고리즘을 적용하였다. SPGD 알고리즘을 이용한 PZT 제어를 통해 다중 빔 정렬을 성공적으로 구현하였다. 다중 빔 정렬 기술을 이용한 결맞음 빔결합 기술 개발이 기대된다.

3GPP2 환경에서 MFSM기반 Multi-MRF 동기화 모델 (MFSM-based Multi-MRF Synchronization Model in 3GPP2)

  • 기존의 많은 동기화 모델 중 EFSM(Extended Finite State Machine)기반 동기화 모델을 수정 보완한 MFSM(Modified Finite State Machine)을 제안한다. MFSM은 미디어간 동기화를 위한 Intermedia Synchronization 역할을 Sync Master와 Sync Slave로 나누어 기존 논문의 단점을 보완한다. 3GPP2 환경에서 멀티미디어 데이터 송수신시에 미디어 소스간에 동기화를 위해서 MRF(Media Resource Function)가 데이터를 중계하는 MFSM기반의 동기화 모델을 제안한다.

  • 현재 게임 시장에서 VR 게임이 가지는 영향력은 점차 증가하는 추세이다. 기존의 VR게임들은 대부분 Multi-Play를 지원하지 않는다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 Photon Network와 XR Plugin을 사용하여 2명의 플레이어가 함께 즐길 수 있는 Arcade 장르의 VR 경쟁 Multi-Game을 구현하였다. 이에 필요한 서버는 리슨 서버 방식으로 Master Client가 게임을 시작하면, Game에 참가한 다른 Client Player는 Photon Network의 RPC 기능을 사용하고 Player의 동작, Game 진행 상황 등을 실시간으로 Server에 동기화하여 Multi-Play게임을 할 수 있다.

Artificial neural network for predicting nuclear power plant dynamic behaviors

  • A Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is a complex dynamic system-of-systems with highly nonlinear behaviors. In order to control the plant operation under both normal and abnormal conditions, the different systems in NPPs (e.g., the reactor core components, primary and secondary coolant systems) are usually monitored continuously, resulting in very large amounts of data. This situation makes it possible to integrate relevant qualitative and quantitative knowledge with artificial intelligence techniques to provide faster and more accurate behavior predictions, leading to more rapid decisions, based on actual NPP operation data. Data-driven models (DDM) rely on artificial intelligence to learn autonomously based on patterns in data, and they represent alternatives to physics-based models that typically require significant computational resources and might not fully represent the actual operation conditions of an NPP. In this study, a feed-forward backpropagation artificial neural network (ANN) model was trained to simulate the interaction between the reactor core and the primary and secondary coolant systems in a pressurized water reactor. The transients used for model training included perturbations in reactivity, steam valve coefficient, reactor core inlet temperature, and steam generator inlet temperature. Uncertainties of the plant physical parameters and operating conditions were also incorporated in these transients. Eight training functions were adopted during the training stage to develop the most efficient network. The developed ANN model predictions were subsequently tested successfully considering different new transients. Overall, through prompt prediction of NPP behavior under different transients, the study aims at demonstrating the potential of artificial intelligence to empower rapid emergency response planning and risk mitigation strategies.

Multi-Channel Data Acquisition System Design for Spiral CT Application

  • We have designed X-ray detection system and multi-channel data acquisition system for Spiral CT application. X-ray detection system consists of scintillator and photodiode. Scintillator converts X-ray into visible light. Photodiode converts visible light into electrical signal. The multi-channel data acquisition system consists of analog, digital, master and backplane board. Analog board detects electrical signal and amplifies signal by 140dB. Digital board consists of MUX(Multiplex) which routes multi-channel analog signal to preamplifier, and ADC(Analog to Digital Converter) which converts analog signal into digital signal. Master board supplies the synchronized clock and transmits the digital data to image reconstructor. Backplane provides electrical power, analog output and clock signal. The system converts the projected X-ray signal over the detector array with large gain, samples the data in each channel sequentially, and the sampled data are transmitted to host computer in a given time frame. To meet the timing limitation, this system is very flexible since it is implemented by FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array). This system must have a high-speed operation with low noise and high SNR(signal to noise ratio), wide dynamic range to get a high resolution image.
