A Study on the Opt-in Marketing

  • Purpose: Online and social media and mobile shopping are increasing and companies are required to provide personal information in order to supplement the non-invasive characteristics of the channels. With the increased provision of personal information, consumers' personal and social concerns about the prevention of personal information infringement are also increasing, and in response, personal or opt-in marketing has emerged to compensate for reckless information abuse. Despite the background of this emergence, the existing prior studies are limited to ignoring the negative feelings of consumers in the real world, including only the net function and positive effect of the opt-in mail. Research design, data and methodology: The research framework was intended to utilize the impact of human marketing activities on consumer attitudes combined with positive and negative factors. Factors that positively affect attitudes toward permation marketing were presented, such as informality, and perceived risks were presented as negative impact factors. Also, based on previous prior research, the prior factors of opt-in marketing were to present the effect on purchase intent through the medium of attitude toward opt-in marketing. Results: In this study, we used the framework of a two factor theory to address positive and negative factors as a leading factor in the customer attitude toward opt-in mail advertising, and as a result, functionality and personalization have a positive effect on customer attitude and perceived risk have a negative impact on customer attitude. In addition, it was confirmed that the customer attitude formed this way affects the intention to purchase again. Conclusions: This study suggests that we have demonstrated that marketing, an opt-in marketing that has been recognized as part of marketing that is deployed after obtaining customer consent, has been applied without any other marketing methodology. E-mail advertising at this point also provides practical implications that the system safeguards are in place under an opt-in protocol or system, and that even if an e-mail advertisement is carried out, customers will need to look at the level of awareness about the risks, and suggests that they need to consider the customer's journey that could lead to purchase at the content level.

  • The purpose of this study was to perform oral health education using UCC media in consideration of middle school students' characteristics, and to investigate the intelligence area related to knowledge conveyance, affective area related to attitude change, and psychomotor area related to behavioral change. As a result, it tried to develop further the strengths of UCC media based oral health education and overcome its weaknesses in order to increase learners' interest and have any behavioral changes. By letting learners have the education at YouTube at any time, rather than use one-time educational medium material it is possible to keep educating learners. In the future, by applying the education to health education programs and health education, it will be possible to convey education contents to learners accurately, give motivation to learners, and thereby increase educational results.

  • With the progress in high speed internet networks, mobile devices and social networking, the eco-system of the media has shifted from that where the flow of content was one-way from the producer to the consumer. A so-called 'prosumer' culture has taken root where the consumer himself produces media content. Along with these trends, various video-sharing platforms such as youtube has a method of allocating advertisement profit to the content producer, offering a win-win platform for content pro-sumers. This allows the channels to attract several tens of millions of subscribers and raise an annual income of over 10 billion Won, marking a revolutionary change in the content industry. This paper seeks to analyze video distribution channels and short-form media content that are showing continuous growth to identify new markets where animated content can make progress in an era of online video media platforms, as well as provide a future direction for small teams of creators of animated films to survive and thrive in this environment.

  • Motion graphic is the recently emerged technique which extends the ways of expression in video industry. Currently, it is worldwide trends that the image design gets more attention in the field of movie, advertisement, exhibition, web, mobile, games and new media, etc. With the development of computer's new technologies, VFX methods for the visual content is dynamically changed. Such production methods combine the real scenary and CG(Computer Graphic) to compose realistic scenes, which cannot be pictured in the ways of ordinary filming. This methods overcome the difference between the real and virtual world, maximize the expressive ways in graphics and real space. Match moving is technique of accurate matching between real and virtual camera to provide realistic scene. In this paper we propose the novel technique for motion graphic image production. In this framework we utilize the match moving methods to get the movements of the real camera into 3D layer data.

Business Strategies of Japanese Newspaper Companies: Top-level Managers' Perception and Reacting toward the Newspaper Crisis (일본 신문기업의 경영전략 연구: 경영진의 위기인식과 대응책을 중심으로)

  • This paper reviews the problems and opportunities of Japanese newspaper industry. In the focus are particularly issues related to causes of the crisis and reacting strategies overcoming the crisis. To answer the questions, we conducted in-depth interviews with top-level managers of major newspaper companies in Japan. Secondary data were gathered to complement the interview. Top managers mainly perceived the causes of the crisis as young readers' alienation from newspaper due to the change of media environment and structural factors such as increasing production/distribution costs and diminishing appeals for advertisers. They are implementing several strategies to overcome this crisis - developing newspaper content for young readers; packaging customized on-off line advertisement; extending news distribution via online and mobile platforms; diversifying business into diverse sectors such as real-estate; enhancing brand equity of newspaper; and collaborating with rival newspaper companies in operating news site and joint printing/distribution. Lessons from the case of Japanese newspaper industry may be useful starting points for the Korean newspaper companies agonizing for diminishing circulation and advertising revenues.

  • The performance of the personalized product recommendation system for offline shopping malls is poor compared with the one using online environment information since it is difficult to obtain visitors' characteristic information. In this paper, a mobile robot platform is suggested capable of recommending personalized advertisement using customers' sex and age information provided by Face API of MS Azure Cloud service. The performance of the developed robot is verified through locomotion experiments, and the performance of API used for our robot is tested using sampled images from open Asian FAce Dataset (AFAD). The developed robot could be effective in marketing by providing personalized advertisements at offline shopping malls.

  • The number of users of SNS such as Twitter and Facebook increases due to the development of internet and the spread of supply of mobile devices such as smart phone. Moreover, there are also an increasing number of content pollution problems that pollute SNS by posting a product advertisement, defamatory comment and adult contents, and so on. This paper proposes an improved method of extracting the feature of content polluter for detecting a content polluter in SNS. In particular, this paper presents a method of extracting the feature of content polluter on the basis of incremental approach that considers only increment in data, not batch processing system of entire data in order to efficiently extract the feature value of new user data at the stage of predicting and classifying a content polluter. And it comparatively assesses whether the proposed method maintains classification accuracy and improves time efficiency in comparison with batch processing method through experiment.

Analyzing Game Streaming Application Reviews Using Text Mining Approach: Research to Strengthen Digital Competitiveness (텍스트마이닝 기법을 활용한 게임 스트리밍 애플리케이션 리뷰 분석: 디지털 경쟁력 강화를 위한 연구)

  • As the growth of the live streaming service market is accelerating due to COVID-19, the number of downloads and reviews of live streaming mobile applications is also rapidly skyrocketing. This study is to research game streaming applications using Twitch reviews as database. A total of 8 topics are extracted through LDA topic modeling and 7 out of them are detected to be inconvenience factors. Then, to pinpoint the main inconvenience factors, co-occurrence analysis is used in order to find out main factors. Finally, based on previous studies, several solutions are provided, which can solve the inconvenience factors(advertisement, UI design, technology problems) as well as strengthening digital competitiveness. This study will serve as an opportunity to improve digital competitiveness not only for Twitch but also for other game live streaming service companies in the future.

A System for SSL/TLS Vulnerability Detection of Servers (서버 SSL/TLS 취약점 자동 탐지를 위한 시스템 개발)

  • SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and TLS (Transport Layer Security) are widely used protocols for secure and encrypted communication over a computer network. However, there have been reported several security vulnerabilities of SSL/TLS over the years. The vulnerabilities can let an adversary carry out critical attacks on SSL/TLS enabled servers. In this paper, we have developed a system which can periodically scan SSL/TLS vulnerabilities on internal network servers and quickly detects, reports and visualizes the vulnerabilities. We have evaluated the system on working servers of Naver services and analyzed detected vulnerabilities. 816 vulnerabilities are found on 213 internal server domains (4.2 vulnerabilities on average) and most vulnerable servers are not opened to public. However, 46 server domains have old vulnerabilites which were found 2016. We could patch and response to SSL/TLS vulnerabilites of servers by leveraging the proposed system.

A Study on Analysis of consumer perception of YouTube advertising using text mining (텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 Youtube 광고에 대한 소비자 인식 분석)

  • This study is a study that analyzes consumer perception by utilizing text mining, which is a recent issue. we analyzed the consumer's perception of Samsung Galaxy by analyzing consumer reviews of Samsung Galaxy YouTube ads. for analysis, 1,819 consumer reviews of YouTube ads were extracted. through this data pre-processing, keywords for advertisements were classified and extracted into nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. after that, frequency analysis and emotional analysis were performed. Finally, clustering was performed through CONCOR. the summary of this study is as follows. the first most frequently mentioned words were Galaxy Note (n = 217), Good (n = 135), Pen (n = 40), and Function (n = 29). it can be judged through the advertisement that consumers "Galaxy Note", "Good", "Pen", and "Features" have good functional aspects for Samsung mobile phone products and positively recognize the Note Pen. in addition, the recognition of "Samsung Pay", "Innovation", "Design", and "iPhone" shows that Samsung's mobile phone is highly regarded for its innovative design and functional aspects of Samsung Pay. second, it is the result of sentiment analysis on YouTube advertising. As a result of emotional analysis, the ratio of emotional intensity was positive (75.95%) and higher than negative (24.05%). this means that consumers are positively aware of Samsung Galaxy mobile phones. As a result of the emotional keyword analysis, positive keywords were "good", "good", "innovative", "highest", "fast", "pretty", etc., negative keywords were "frightening", "I want to cry", "discomfort", "sorry", "no", etc. were extracted. the implication of this study is that most of the studies by quantitative analysis methods were considered when looking at the consumer perception study of existing advertisements. In this study, we deviated from quantitative research methods for advertising and attempted to analyze consumer perception through qualitative research. this is expected to have a great influence on future research, and I am sure that it will be a starting point for consumer awareness research through qualitative research.
