A study on the abrasion resistance of punching carbide material of die for the application of SCP-1 material (SCP-1재료 적용을 위한 초경재료 펀치의 내마모성에 대한 연구)

  • Motor core products are used as materials for electrical steel sheets and cold-rolled steel sheets according to the performance of motors. The cemented carbide material of the mold punch applied to the motor core material causes many troubles due to abrasion and burr problem. The selection of these materials has a great effect on the production life, mass production, product quality as well as mold life. The cemented carbide applied to the products of the motor core is recognized as a very important part. In this study, cold rolled steel sheet was applied to motor core SCP-1 steel 1.0mm, and The effects of abrasion and punching oil on the shear process were investigated for the selection of cemented carbide. Experiments were conducted to select and apply cemented carbide only for the motor core punch optimized for cold rolled steel. The results showed that the cemented carbide material of $CDK3^{***}$ produced the least wear and burrs.

  • As demand of light weight in the automotive industry has increased, the cowl cross member has been investigated using various methods to change the material. Conventionally, a cowl cross member has been made of steel and aluminum, but recently researchers tested multi-material such as aluminum and plastic. We studied a new model of the cowl cross member made of composite and non ferrous materials. For products with a high degree of freedom in design, generally, the method of topology optimization is advantageous and for the partial bracket part of the cowl cross member had a degree of freedom in the design, a topology optimization is appropriate. Considering the characteristics of the cowl cross members, we need research to minimize the weight while having the performance of noise, vibration and harshness(NVH). Taking the mounting status of the product into consideration, we used an assembly model to optimize the cowl cross member. But this method took too much time so we considered simple cowl cross member assemble conditions using the direct matrix input method(DMI) with the Craig-Bampton Nodal Method. This method is capable of considering the status of the assembly without assembling the model, which reduced the solving time and increased the accuracy comparison with a cowl cross member without DMI.

  • The EV electric vehicle market is growing rapidly worldwide. An electric vehicle means a vehicle that uses energy charged through an electricity source as power. The precision of the press is important to mass-produce the drive motor, which is a key component of the electric vehicle. The size of the driving motor is increasing, and The size of the mold is also growing. In this study, the precision of large high-speed presses for mass production of driving motors was measured. A study was conducted on the measurement method of press and the analysis of measurement data. A drive motor is a component that transmits power by converting electrical energy into kinetic energy. EV driven motors have key material properties to improve efficiency. The material properties are the thickness of the material. As a method for improving performance, use a 0.2mm thin steel sheet. Mold is also becoming larger. As the mold grows, the size of the high-speed press for mass production of the driving motor is also increasing. Also, the precision of the press is the most important because it uses a thin iron plate material. So the importance of large press precision is being emphasized.   • This study shows an implementation of partial holes in an initial design domain in order to improve convergences of topology optimization algorithms. The method is associated with a bubble method as introduced by Eschenauer et al. to overcome slow convergence of boundary-based shape optimization methods. However, contrary to the bubble method, initial holes are only implemented for initializations of optimization algorithm in this approach, and there is no need to consider a characteristic function which defines hole's deposition during every optimization procedure. In addition, solid and void regions within the initial design domain are not fixed but merged or split during optimization Procedures. Since this phenomenon activates finite changes of design parameters without numerically calculating movements and positions of holes, convergences of topology optimization algorithm can be improved. In the present study, material topology optimization designs of Michell-type beam utilizing the initial design domain with initial holes of varied sizes and shapes is carried out by using SIMP like a density distribution method. Numerical examples demonstrate the efficiency and simplicity of the present method.

Structural Optimization of High-rise Buildings using High-strength Steels (고강도강재의 효율적 사용을 위한 초고층건물의 최적설계기법)

  • Recently, the high-strength steel of 400~600MPa tensile strength is producing in the country. Use of high-strength steel member in the design of high-rise buildings is expected to increase the efficiency of structural design in the aspect of structure material weight and cost, however it has been used only a narrow extent. No efficient design method to use high-strength steel in the design of high-rise buildings has been developed. Therefore, in this study structural cost optimization technique that can minimize the structural material cost of high-rise buildings using high-strength steels is developed. The efficiency of the technique is evaluated by comparing the experience-based design for 6 high-rise building examples. As a result, the proposed techniques can save 7~21% of structural material cost compared with experienced-based design. And also, the rough guideline for effective use of high-strength steels in the structural design of high-rise buildings is introduced on the basis of results.

A Study on Design Characteristics of Chanel's and Fendi's Collections under the Direction of Karl Lagerfeld (칼 라거펠트 디렉팅의 샤넬과 펜디에 대한 디자인 특성 연구)

  • The study focused on the design features of Chanel and Fendi, directed by Carl Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel and Fendi until his recent death. The range of the study was from the 2017 S/S Collection to the 2019 F/W Collection, which collected a total of 767 fashion photographs, including 483 Chanel, 284 Fendi, with tops, bottoms and dresses at VOGUE (https://www.vogue.com). According to the data analysis criteria organized based on prior research and related literature, it was classified in the order of form, color, material, pattern, decoration, fashion image, item and coordination, and content analysis was conducted based on statistical analysis. Overall, the design characteristics of the Chanel collection, directed by Karl Lagerfeld, were rectangle form, tone in tone coloring, combination of identical materials, geometric patterns, and classical images as the main design characteristics of the Chanel collection. The design characteristics shown in the Fendi collection directed by Karl Lagerfeld were rectangle form, tone in tone coloration, hard material combination, abstract pattern, and total coordination. Comparing the design features of Chanel and Fendi, directed by Karl Lagerfeld, is as follows. Chanel and Fendi's designs show a lot of rectangle form, tone-in-tone colors, hard-materials and combination of the same material.

  • Laser-induced plasmonic sintering of metal nanoparticles (NPs) holds significant promise as a technology for producing flexible conducting electrodes. This method offers immediate, straightforward, and scalable manufacturing approaches, eliminating the need for expensive facilities and intricate processes. Nevertheless, the metal NPs come at a high cost due to the intricate synthesis procedures required to ensure long-term reliability in terms of chemical stability and the prevention of NP aggregation. Herein, we induced the self-generation of metal nanoparticles from Ag organometallic ink, and fabricated highly conductive electrodes on flexible substrates through laser-assisted plasmonic annealing. To demonstrate the practicality of the fabricated flexible electrode, it was configured in a mesh pattern, realizing multi-touchable flexible touch screen panel.

  • In Contemporary architecture we could find rough and stiff feeling expression as a special phenomena. This style is combined regionalism to the modern spirit that we could imagine such a phenomena of the modern design toward vernacular culture. it's conception is conformed to the regionalist architecture in that period and the 3rd world experiences, From 1930s resident house Le corbusier introduced vernacular phenomena that considered productional condition of the region and regional environment This tendancy attempted by few young architects. they built building in vernacular phenomena based on the 3rd world experiences and Le Corbusier's architecture. After Le Corbusier's unite d'hbitation in Marseille Ando finishing with diversified material. but Le Corbusier's intention concerned not only to finishing of material but also to practical and human building as he had experienced in vernacular architecture.

Approximate seismic displacement capacity of piles in marine oil terminals

  • This paper proposes an approximate procedure to estimate seismic displacement capacity - defined as yield displacement times the displacement ductility - of piles in marine oil terminals. It is shown that the displacement ductility of piles is relatively insensitive to most of the pile parameters within ranges typically applicable to most piles in marine oil terminals. Based on parametric studies, lower bound values of the displacement ductility of two types of piles commonly used in marine oil terminals - reinforced-concrete and hollow-steel - with either pin connection or full-moment-connection to the deck for two seismic design levels - Level 1 or Level 2 - and for two locations of the hinging in the pile - near the deck or below the ground - are proposed. The lower bound values of the displacement ductility are determined such that the material strain limits specified in the Marine Oil Terminal Engineering and Maintenance Standard (MOTEMS) are satisfied at each design level. The simplified procedure presented in this paper is intended to be used for preliminary design of piles or as a check on the results from the detailed nonlinear static pushover analysis procedure, with material strain control, specified in the MOTEMS.
