In this paper, through the implementation of the application service, we evaluated the feasibility and availability of the staged application service platform, which is based on the sharing of the PVM cluster. Application service platform provides three managers for dividing the request processing steps into two stages, such as a request processing stage and a service providing stage. Three managers and its relation to the divided stages are as follows, service manager and load manager to distribute the request in front-end server for a request processing stage, job manager in clustered(back-end) servers for a service providing stage. The experiment shows that the staged application service platform provides more stable and scalable characteristics and better performance improvement on the dynamic load changes than the single server system. And also it shows that real application service system can be implemented easily without modification of the proposed service platform.

In order to provide priorities of the factors affecting the introduction of Smart Factory, This study reconstructed the factors and calculated the priorities through AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). The first layer of the hierarchy have 4 factors; productivity increase, brand image improve, marketing improve, cost reduction. The second layer of the hierarchy have 3 factors belong to the first layer, so the total number of second layer is 12. We divided the characteristics of enterprises into type of manager and age. The C.R. (consistency ratio) values of the respondents were found to be less than 0.1 and were judged to be a 'reasonable test'. As a result, the weights of the higher layer and the lower layer were obtained respectively, and then the weights of the higher layer and the weights of the lower layer were multiplied to obtain the total weights. Unlike previous studies that only surveyed factors that companies consider when introducing smart factory, (1) weighing and prioritizing factors were achieved. There are differences in priorities, (2) smart factory can be studied with the type of manager and firm age. When establishing policies, it is a practical implication (3) to assess its strategy not only for government officials but also for executives.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction. Subjects were 362 nurses at a general hospital in Seoul. Data were collected from November 1, 1999 to November 31, 1999 with the structured questionnaires and analyzed by $SPSS-PC^+$ 8.0 for descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows; 1. The average score of the nursing organizational characteristics was 3.7. The score of head nurse's leadership was highest and supervisor's was lowest. The average score of the job satisfaction was 3.1 and was similar to the results of other studies. 2. Being regarded to the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction by general demographic variables, The head nurse's leadership, the supervisor's leadership and interaction, and the overall nursing organizational characteristics showed significant differences by year of career, position status, and service-department(p<.1, p<.05). The job satisfaction showed significant difference by position status(p<.01). 3. There were correlations between the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction(r=0.358-0.815). 4. The most important variable in the job satisfaction was 'organizational climate' and it was explained 32.0% out of the total variance of job satisfaction and 'all of nursing organizational characteristic factors' explained 47.5%. According to the results of this study, the suggestions were as follow: 1. To improve nurses' job satisfaction, the strategy for the development of the cooperative nursing organizational climate and for the strengthening of 'the nursing manager's leadership and interaction' in the nursing department are necessary. It should to be considered the differences in the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction by nursing manager and staff nurses. 2. Further study needed to analysis the organizational climate for the management of the nursing organization. Also it is necessary for further investigation regarding to the relationship between the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction of pre and post-organizational change.

Communications manager for the N-Screen services draw students use cases and define the required functions. Based on this, Communication function is designed. In addition, Considering the characteristics of each device, personal location information to be reflected.
Objectives: Safety is a primary health promotion issue in worksite because injury induces multi-fold loss of the human and economic resources to profit organization. The purposes of this study were to describe worksite health and safety education and management status in Korean manufacturing companies. Methods: The original population size of Korean manufacturing industry in 2004 was 74,398 and 2,960 factories were selected by the multiple stratified sampling method for this study. The health and safety manager or representatives of the selected 2,960 companies successfully finished in the face-to-face interview survey about company's general characteristics, health and safety management style, health and safety education hours conducted by the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Agency. Results: The manufacturing companies in Seoul and Kyunggi areas, small size, and clothes and press industries were related to low health and safety management and education status. The companies which assigned at least one safety manager were 70.5% and which had a health and safety room within the company were only 9.3%. The companies which took the health and safety education for their regular blue-collar employees more than the legal education hours were under 56.1% and the percentage of the companies which took their health and safety education for newcomers less than the legal limits was lower than any other types of health and safety education in workplace. The significant strong workplace health and safety management variables in predicting employee health and safety education were psycho-social variables such as the company own health and safety regulation and the workplace health and safety management committee organization. rather than physical variables such as health manager employment, safety manager employment. Conclusions: Systematic and legal approaches are effective to encourage workplace health and safety education, specifically, through sustaining health and safety managers and building the company-wide health and safety management system. Furthermore, theses approaches should primarily focus on the small companies of which sizes were under 50.

Digital assets denote multimedia information that exists in the form of digitized materials such as images, audio, and video. The management of digital assets demands much effort because of a huge amount of storage space requirement and multidimensional characteristics of the information needed to describe their contents. In this paper, we design and implement a Digital Asset Manager that stores and manages digital assets efficiently. Among the various types of digital assets, we focus on the video asset which has the highest complexity. Our Digital Asset Manager provides various facilities for digital contents authoring applications. In the Digital Asset Manager, video assets are managed by using a hierarchical model in order to ensure efficient accesses to any part of a video asset. Our system also guarantees the independence from the storage platform, and provides a fast content-based similarity search method on the digital assets.

An example of such a new device is a mobile phone. The demand for wireless data communication is growing rapidly. However, agencies have not yet completed the standardization of the markup language. Due to the evolution of the Mobile Device, the agencies in this field have provided different data formats with each Mobile Device Platform. Traditionally, contents are hand-tailored to suit the target devices. A key problem is that the characteristics and capabilities of mobile devices are too diverse to service the most suitable mobile contents. Owing to this problem, the need for a reusable document description language increases. In this paper, we defined Template file that is common data to service mobile devices. We proposed method that could be effective wireless web service though design and the implementation of the Call Manager & the XSL Generator. In the methodology, when requesting wireless internet service, the mobile device finds out Markup language and hardware specification of the mobile device through the Call Manager component supports. The XSL Generator component creates XSL file dynamically that is the most suitable to device. Finally, contents is serviced to each device by XSLT.
This study focused on the importance of job position as a role model for female career adaptation. To do this, we used the KWMP data to conduct a Multinomial logit analysis to examine the influence factors of the tenure women managers. As a result, first, section chief position showed a low level of life satisfaction and showed difficulty of beginner's manager. Second, it is predicted that the position of the Deputy Head of Department will establish the identity of work as an intermediate manager. Third, head of department Director showed a high age, target status, possibility of achieving the target, and duration of the next job. Fourth, executive level has the least average experience of discrimination on monthly average wage. It was suggested that it is important to develop individual career by recognizing that the organizational atmosphere and personnel management are lower than those of the other positions. It was found that age, organizational atmosphere and personnel management, goal status, possibility of achieving goals, next job tenure period, monthly average wage, welfare, and life satisfaction factors were the most influential factors in women career adjustment. Finally, implications and limitations were discussed based on the results of this study.
Main memory database systems use the different implementation techniques to sturucture and organize the user dta and system catalogs, since traditional database systems are optimized for the characteristics of disk storage environment. We present, in this paper, the design considerations for our main memory database system $ALTIBASE^{TM}$ that is currently applied to the time-critical applications. We focus on the design issues of storage manager in $ALTIBASE^{TM}$. The major components are introduced, and features and characteristics of transaction management and recovery method are described. We also present the database replication mechanism and its conflict resolution mechanism for high availability and performance. In order to evaluate our transaction performance, we show various experimental reports as measured by the TPS.
Occupational health services in Korea have been operated as dual types: one is operated by occupational health care manager and the other is health care agency without their own personnel. The performance of occupational health service should be different due to the variety of characteristics of health care manager and workplace, qualification of health care manager. This study is to analyze performance of occupational health care services with a particular consideration of job, based on comparing those two types of health care management to show on the basic data for the settlement of more qualitative. health care management system at workplace. For this study, total 391 places in Seoul and Inchon city area: 154 places (39.4%) managed by designated. health care manager and 237 places (60.6%) by the agency with their commission are selected as research samples. Tools for data collection are questionnares have been investigated during the period of 20 September 1993-20 December 1993. Those data are compared with percentiles, mean, standard deviation due to the characterstics of each variable and analyzed for impacting factors with relation to the using multiple regression analysis using SPSS PC program, especially using t -test method in order to compare each type of health care management. Conclusions observed from the tests and each comparison could be summerized as follows : 1. Occupational health care have been accomplished at workplaces with designated people than with agencies people, and coverage rate of the occupational health care services has differences, due to management types. The reason of these results is due to visit only one or two times monthly by the agencies, while their own health care manager obsess, at the workplaces all the times. 2. The common sickness management is the most accomplished item in health care area of occupational health care services, while the preventive care and control for the workers who have serious health problems are insufficient in workers health care area. 3. An insufficient accomplishment of overall health education has been shown because it is difficult to perform health education due to almost no chance of the direct introduction at workplaces. Therefore a strong support system for making and supplying the media is necessary in order to activate indirect health education by means of media. 4. Because health care managers and the agencies managers where take the workplaces for this study are almost nurses who have been comparatively high work site rounding rate about an environmental management at the workplaces, that non-profession can also do it, the activities about the professional area not enough. Therefore, an appropriate referral system should be established in order to complement professional area. 5. Two factors which have an effect on the coverage rate of occupational health care services are : one is those from the workplaces such as type of services, the number of workers, the number of harzadous factors and safety & health committee, the other from health care organization about whether there is its own manager or not.
