  • The magic square is one of the number arrangements and the sums of each row, column, and diagonal are all equal. The meaning of "方" is "Square". If we don't consider the condition of 'square' then is it possible any number arrangement? There are many special number arrangements such as "magic five number circle(緊五圖)", "magic six number circle(聚六圖)", "magic eight number circle(聚八圖)", "magic nine number circle(攢九圖)", "magic eight camp circle(八陣圖)", "magic nine camp circle(連環圖)" in the ancient Chinese mathematics books such as "楊輝算法", "算法統宗". Also, there is a very special and beautiful number arrangement Jisuguimoondo(地數龜文圖) in the mathematics book "Goosuryak(九數略)" written by Choi suk jung(崔錫鼎) in the Joseon Dynasty. In this study, we introduce a various number arrangements and their properties.

  • When looking for solutions of Jisuguimundo with magic number 88~92 and 94~98, alternating method is applied to each possible partitions of each magic number. But this method does not apply in case of finding solutions of Jisuguimundo with magic number 87, 93, and 99. In this study, it is shown that solutions of Jisuguimundo with magic number 87, 93, and 99 can be found by applying alternating method to two partitions. These two partitions are derived partitions obtained by each partitions of magic number 87, 93, and 99. If every number from 1 to 30 which satisfy every unit path of Jisuguimundo can be found in all components of these two derived partitions, that arrangement is just a solution of Jisuguimundo. The method suggested in this study is more developed one than the method which is applied to just one partition.

  • In this study, we propose an approximate method to make Jisuguimundo with magic number 93 to 109. In this method, for two numbers p, q with a relationship of M = 2p+q, we use eight pairs of two numbers with sum p and five pairs of two numbers with sum q. Such numbers must be between 1 and 30. Instead of determining all positions of thirty numbers, this method shows that Jisuguimundo with magic number 93 to 109 can be made by determining positions of thirteen numbers $a_i$(i = 1, 2, ${\cdots}$, 8), $b_5$, $c_i$(i = 1, 2, 3, 4). Method 1 is used to make Jisuguimundo with magic number 93 to 108, and method 2 is used to make Jisuguimundo with magic number 109.

  • A graph G = (V, E) is called super edge-magic if there exists a one-to-one map $\lambda$ from V $\cup$ E onto {1,2,3,...,|V|+|E|} such that $\lambda$(V)={1,2,...,|V|} and $\lambda(x)+\lambda(xy)+\lambda(y)$ is constant for every edge xy. In this paper, we investigate whether some families of graphs are super edge-magic or not.

  • Apparel fairs are business platforms specializing in selling fashion products. As the largest apparel fair in the United States and with the highest number of animated buyers in the entire world, the Las Vegas Magic Show utilizes this distribution platform to the greatest extent by sustaining over 90,000 buyers annually. In accordance, the exhibiting companies also participate in commercial functions by striving to promote brand awareness to consumers as they carefully plan to increase actual sales and secure new customers. Domestically, numerous organizations such as the Trade Promotion Administration, the Korean Apparel Association, and KOTRA(Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) present similar international apparel fairs to strongly encourage domestic companies to exhibit at international apparel fairs. However, many companies fail to succeed in achieving actual results, which frequently causes them to attend the shows for the short term only. This may occur due to the lack of research on apparel order-writing exhibitions by academia and proactive workers. This research study was based on the careful observation and analysis of the three most recent years of Magic exhibitor attendees' operations and changes to accomplish the final objective of presenting a basic guideline to attend an international apparel exhibition.

  • We propose a symmetric key based cryptography algorithm to encode and decode the text data with limited length using 3-dimensional magic square matrix. To encode the plain text message, input text will be translated into an index of the number stored in the key matrix. Then, Caesar's shift with pre-defined constant value is fabricated to finalize an encryption algorithm. In decode process, Caesar's shift is applied first, and the generated key matrix is used with 2D magic squares to replace the index numbers in ciphertext to restore an original text.

  • Kakuro puzzles are NP-complete problems where no way to solve puzzles in polynomial time is known. Until now, a brute-force search method or a linear programming method has been applied to substitute all possible cases. This paper finds a magic rule, a rule for box sizes and unfilled numbers according to sum clues. Based on the magic rule, numbers that cannot enter empty cells were deleted from the box for row and column sum clues. Next, numbers that cannot enter the box were deleted based on the sum clue value. Finally, cells with only a single number were confirmed as clues. As a result of applying the proposed algorithm to seven benchmarking experimental data, it was shown that solutions could be obtained for all problems.

  • Jisuguimundo(地數龜文圖) is a magic hexagon created by Suk-Jung Choi in his book about three hundreds years ago in Korea. Recently attention is focused on jisuguimundo, and it is known that jisuguimundos exist when magic number is from 77 to 108, however a general method making jisuguimundos is not known so far. Up to now, methods of making jisuguimundos using computers are known. In this study, a method making jisuguimundos is suggested using pairs of two numbers with sum p and q ($p{\neq}q$) alternately when magic number is from 88 to 92, and from 94 to 98, without using computer in elementary math class as a task for problem solving. Mathematical theory is introduced for this method, and jisuguimundos are presented which are found out through this method. Elementary students are expected to make their own jisuguimundo using this method.

  • A latin square of order n is an $n{\times}n$ array with entries from a set of n numbers arrange in such a way that each number occurs exactly once in each row and exactly once in each column. Two latin squares of the same order are orthogonal latin square if the two latin squares are superimposed, then the $n^2$ cells contain each pair consisting of a number from the first square and a number from the second. In Europe, Orthogonal Latin squares are the mathematical concepts attributed to Euler. However, an Euler square of order nine was already in existence prior to Euler in Korea. It appeared in the monograph Koo-Soo-Ryak written by Choi Seok-Jeong(1646-1715). He construct a magic square by using two orthogonal latin squares for the first time in the world. In this paper, we explain Choi' s orthogonal latin squares and the history of the Orthogonal Latin squares.

  • This experiment had been conducted to determine optimal culture conditions for the growth and cut flowers of Calla (Zantedeschia 'Black Magic' 'Golden Affair') in highlands. Tubers of calla 'Black Magic' was treated with 0, 100, and $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ concentration of $GA_3$. ABA content in tubers and roots were twice higher ($20-25pmol{\cdot}mL^{-1}$) in control than in $GA_3$ treated tubers and roots. ABA contents in tubers was not consistent but ABA contents in roots increased with increasing $GA_3$ concentration. However ABA is in inverse proportion to GA. It was mean that GA of high contents was ABA of low contents. Calla 'Golden Affair' was treated with different mulching materials (Control, black PE, Reflective film, Rice hull) and $GA_3$ concentrations (0, 50, 100 and $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$). It was largest in the length of flower at mulching of reflective film, Rice hull and it was greatest in the number of cut flowers at the treated with $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ $GA_3$, Therefore the proper condition was at $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ $GA_3$ with reflective film mulching.
