  • Given a connected graph G, we say that a set EC\;{\subseteq}\;V(G)$ is convex in G if, for every pair of vertices x, $y\;{\in}\;C$, the vertex set of every x - y geodesic in G is contained in C. The convexity number of G is the cardinality of a maximal proper convex set in G. In this paper, we show that every pair k, n of integers with $2\;{\leq}k\;{\leq}\;n\;-\;1$ is realizable as the convexity number and order, respectively, of some connected triangle-free graph, and give a lower bound for the convexity number of k-regular graphs of order n with n > k+1.

  • This paper deals with second order differential equations with different deviated arguments ${\alpha}$(t) and ${\beta}$(t, ${\mu}$(t)). We investigate the existence of solutions of such problems with nonlinear mixed boundary conditions. To obtain corresponding results we apply the monotone iterative technique and the lower-upper solutions method. Two examples demonstrate the application of our results.

  • This paper studies the iteration method of solving a type of second-order three-point boundary value problem with non-linear term f, which depends on the first order derivative. By using the upper and lower method, we obtain the sufficient conditions of the existence and uniqueness of solutions. Furthermore, the monotone iterative sequences generated by the method contribute to the minimum solution and the maximum solution. And the error estimate formula is also given under the condition of unique solution. We apply the solving process to a special boundary value problem, and the result is interesting.

  • Numerical and experimental study were carried out to characterize sound fields of low frequency in a scaled reverberation chamber for measurement of sound insulation of panels. By using BEM, lower modes of the chamber are identified and then predicted the effect of diffusers in order to destruct lower modes. Compared results with measurements show reasonable agreements, especially at the first end second modes. Based on numerical prediction, the diffuser are installed in order to improve sound fields to be more diffuse than ever. It is found that the diffuser put in nodal line of the chamber destruct evidently the first mode. Consequently, the measuring error at the low frequency can be relatively reduced compare to the case of without diffuser.

  • Vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) are self-organizing, self-healing networks which provide wireless communication among vehicular and roadside devices. Applications in such networks can take advantage of the use of simultaneous connections, thereby maximizing the throughput and lowering latency. In order to take advantage of all radio interfaces of the vehicle and to provide good quality of service for vehicular applications, we developed a seamless flow mobility management architecture based on vehicular network application classes with network-based mobility management. Our goal is to minimize the time of flow connection exchange in order to comply with the minimum requirements of vehicular application classes, as well as to maximize their throughput. Network simulator (NS-3) simulations were performed to analyse the behaviour of our architecture by comparing it with other three scenarios. As a result of this work, we observed that the proposed architecture presented a low handover time, with lower packet loss and lower delay.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to compare the workload level at each lower limbs posture and suggest the ergonomic workstation guideline for working period by evaluating the imbalanced lower limbs postures from the physiological and psychophysical points of view. Background: Many workers like welders are working in various imbalanced lower limbs postures either due to the narrow working conditions or other environmental conditions. Method: Ten male subjects participated in this experiment. Subjects were asked to maintain 3 different lower limbs postures(standing, squatting and bending) with 3 different working conditions(balanced floor with no scaffold, imbalanced floor with 10cm height of scaffold, and imbalanced floor with 20cm height of scaffold). EMG data for the 4 muscle groups(Retus Femoris, Vastus Lateralis, Tibialis Anterior, Gastrocnemius) from each lower limbs posture were collected for 20 seconds every 2 minutes during the 8 minutes sustaining task. Subjects were also asked to report their discomfort ratings of body parts such as waist, upper legs, lower legs, and ankle. Results: The ANOVA results showed that the EMG root mean square(RMS) values and the discomfort ratings(CR-10 Rating Scale) were significantly affected by lower limbs postures and working time(p<0.05). The correlation was analyzed between the EMG data and the discomfort ratings. Also, prediction models for the discomfort rating for each posture were developed using physical condition, working time, and scaffold height. Conclusion: We strongly recommend that one should not work more than 6 minutes in a standing or squatting postures and should not work more than 4 minutes in a bending posture. Application: The results of this study could be used to design and assess working environments and methods. Furthermore, these results could be used to suggest ergonomic guidelines for the lower limbs postures such as squatting and bending in the working fields in order to prevent fatigue and pain in the lower limbs body.

  • The purpose of this research is to understand the physiological characteristics of muscular men between the ages of 20 and 34 years who are distinct from the general population due to their muscular development, and to categorize them according to upper body somatotypes. This research was conducted in order to provide basic data necessary for developing clothing products for muscular men. The research method and results were as follows: 1. The study carried out factor analysis with the body measuring value of 168 muscular men according to the body classification method of Sheldon and Heath-Carter. The study materialized muscular men's lower body types statistically by carrying out cluster analysis, regarding scores of each factor extracted from the factor analysis as an independent variable. The study also carried out discriminant analysis with the results of cluster analysis classified so that morphological characters of each type were remarkably distinguished. 2. As the results of factor analysis, the study set up number of factors as three. Factor 1 occupied 38.149% of the total variables as a size factor of the lower body. Factor 2 occupied 20.417% of the total variables as a height and length factor of the lower body. Factor 3 occupied 8.466% of the total variables as a length factor of the hip. 3. The study classified the lower body type into three types and the characteristics by each type were as follows. Type 1 was a group with the best developed muscle in the lower of the body, considering that a size of their lower bodies was the largest. Type 2 was well-balanced muscular males though a size of the lower body was smaller than other types. This type didn't have fatness of the abdomen and large hips. Type 3 was a body type that the length from the waist to the hip was long. 4. As the results of carrying out discriminant analysis to distinguish muscular men's lower body types, the discriminant accuracy was 86.3% over all in the lower bodies.

  • In this study, we observed air temperature to make clear that land coverage condition and stand form has a certain relationship to air temperature during the night in various green space. And with revolution analysis, we interpreted relationship of air temperature distribution in the green space, The way of analysis is this land coverage rate and air temperature, of number of tree volume of tree air temperature. With this experimental result, we can propose green plan, which is taking into consideration lower effect of air temperature. In this result, lower zone is formed in forest and water area, higher zone is formed in paved surface and barren ground. but this gap is a little. arbor+subarbor area, in the point of water area surrounded stand is formed relative lower air temperature. As a result to make up efficiency lower air temperature area, it is needed to make water area which has surrounded forest, and it is needed to make stand form lower air temperature 2~3 layer forest. In order of arbor, subarbor, shrub, the lower air temperature is more effect.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare kinematics on lower limbs between stair walking with high heel and barefoot in healthy adult women. Methods: 18 healthy adult women were recruited in this study. The subjects performed stair ascent and descent with high heels and barefoot. The experiment was conducted in random order and repeated three times for each stair walking with high heels and barefoot. The movements of lower limb joints were measured and analyzed using a three-dimensional analysis system. Results: The ankle, knee, and hip flexion angles on the sagittal plane exhibited statistically significant differences between stair ascent and descent with high heels and barefoot. The pelvic forward tilt angles showed statistically significant differences only during stair ascent. The ankle inversion, hip abduction and pelvic lateral tilt angles on the frontal plane showed statistically significant differences between stair walking with high heels and barefoot. On the transverse plane, the hip rotation angles showed statistically significant differences between the high-heeled and barefoot gait during stair ascent and descent. However, the pelvic rotation angles showed no statistically significant differences. Conclusion: Therefore, wearing high-heeled shoes during stair walking in daily life is considered to influence lower limb kinematics due to the high heel, and thus poses the risks of pain, and low stability and joint damage caused by changes in the movement of lower limb joints.
