  • Recently, with the development of deep learning technology, a variety of huge models with excellent performance have been devised by pre-training massive amounts of text data. However, in order for such a model to be applied to real-life services, the inference speed must be fast and the amount of computation must be low, so the technology for model compression is attracting attention. Knowledge distillation, a representative model compression, is attracting attention as it can be used in a variety of ways as a method of transferring the knowledge already learned by the teacher model to a relatively small-sized student model. However, knowledge distillation has a limitation in that it is difficult to solve problems with low similarity to previously learned data because only knowledge necessary for solving a given problem is learned in a teacher model and knowledge distillation to a student model is performed from the same point of view. Therefore, we propose a heterogeneous knowledge distillation method in which the teacher model learns a higher-level concept rather than the knowledge required for the task that the student model needs to solve, and the teacher model distills this knowledge to the student model. In addition, through classification experiments on about 18,000 documents, we confirmed that the heterogeneous knowledge distillation method showed superior performance in all aspects of learning efficiency and accuracy compared to the traditional knowledge distillation.

  • The purpose of this study is to define areas and standards of kindergarten teacher's competency through survey research and interview with early childhood education community - kindergarten teachers, vice principals, principals, administrators, parents, and professors in early childhood education. Raw data from 62 interviewees were grouped into 25 codes including 'professional knowledge about young children's developmental characteristics, and labeled for representative themes. Based on the result of interview analysis, two areas of 'knowledge and skill' area (15 standards) and 'attitude and grounding' area (20 standards) were classified, survey researched for appropriateness and relative importance of each standard. 704 members of early childhood education community were collected through stratified sampling. The research findings indicate that 'observation and evaluation ability for young children' and 'affection for young children' showed high appropriateness in 'knowledge and skill area' and 'attitude and grounding area', respectively. In the relative importance analysis, 'understanding of young children's development', 'understanding of curriculum for young children', and 'understanding of young children's behavioral problem and counseling' for knowledge and skill area, and 'respect for young children', 'affection for young children', responsibility', 'positive attitude' for attitude and grounding area showed high relative importance in order.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out eco-friendly attitude and level of knowledge about environment of pre-service elementary teachers and find relationship between these. In this study, we investigate and analyse with surveys about eco-friendly attitudes and environmental knowledge questionnaire targeting the 2nd semester of 2013 32 people of fast stream class 2nd grade. Also, we analyzed correlation between environmental knowledge and the test results of eco-friendly attitudes. Results for the analysis are as follows. First, pre-service elementary teachers' average of eco-friendly attitudes test result is 'cognitive area(60.22)> definitional area(53.69)> behavioral area(52.72)'. These results are re-service elementary teachers are knowledgeable about the environment, but they are passive at the execution act about environment. Second, the average of pre-service elementary teachers' environmental knowledge result is the highest to the protect the environment, for the average(26.25). It is interpreted that they acquired the most the knowledge related to the conservation of the environment. Third, It is no significant correlation between pre-service elementary teachers' eco-friendly attitudes and environmental knowledge. It means that although they acquired a lot of knowledge related to the environment, it is not affected to environmental friendly attitude putting ideas into action about environment.

  • This study was done to come up with a solution to effectively increase nutrition knowledge and education among nursery school teachers in the Gwang-ju metropolitan city area. The scores of teacher's nutrition knowledge were around the average of 9.4 points on a 15-point scale, which is about 63.1 points on a 100-point scale. When the types of subjects were compared, we recognized that the nursery school teachers with a college degree or those who have any training/education in nutrition had the highest scores in nutrition knowledge. Also, the nursery schools who have more than 101 children or public nursery schools had the highest scores in nutrition knowledge (p < 0.05). We can conclude that the knowledge of nutrition of nursery teachers is very lacking and it is not as high as it should be. In addition, we can also see that the dietary guidance and nutrition education time spent towards the children was very short. The lack of professional knowledge and education seems to be due to shortage of educational materials and because the teachers themselves lack the knowledge to pass on to their predecessors. In fact, even the teachers themselves feel the need to set up more nutrition-related education programs, obtain more guides and materials to teach them, as well as implement more organized and systemized teaching methods.

  • In this study, 45 pre-service mathematics teachers were surveyed about how the perception of knowledge through teaching practicum have changed and how the knowledge learned in college and teaching practicum helped to format teachers' knowledge and analyzed survey's result. Pre-service mathematics teachers felt the knowledge for understanding students were needed the most and considered the experiences from teaching practicum were more useful than the knowledge learned from college classes. However, they had low appreciations on connecting knowledge on learned contents with real-life or other subjects and on necessity of knowledge of using various learning tools or mathematical materials in class. Also, they have answered the knowledges from college classes and teaching practicum were useless in those areas. Especially, they pointed out that guidance teachers during teaching practicum were insufficient in instructing. Therefore, we suggest the following two to improve the teaching ability of pre-service mathematics teachers through teaching practicum. First, college and secondary school cooperating programs such as class-observation and student-mentor system connected with local society should be developed. Second, the special re-training program for guidance teachers of teaching practicum is needed.
