  • The present study proposed a method that dissolves ultrasonographic images into multiple resolutions using wavelet conversion and a boundary detection filter and improves the quality of ultrasonographic images through boundary detection filtering. In order to reduce noises and strengthen edges, the proposed method adjusted selectivity coefficient by area step by step from a low resolution image obtained from wavelet converted images to a high resolution image and performed edge filtering in consideration of direction. Through this method, we generated a selective low pass filtering effect in areas except edges by decreasing the wavelet coefficient for pixels in spot areas, improved continuity by smoothing edges in the tangential direction, and enhanced contrast by thinning in the normal direction. Through an experiment, we compared the filtering method using a non linear anisotropic expansion model and the filtering method using wavelet contraction structure in single resolution.

  • The introduction of GPS technique in transportation study make real time tracking of driving vehicle's position possible. Position information data gauged with three dimension(X, Y, Z) can be achieved with time-continuity and from more than two driving vehicles. For this field of study, in past day, there were many difficulties in collecting real time data, but now, it becomes easy thanks to this. But for the resonable result analysis, fully understanding of GPS data-accuracy must be proceeded. Because accompanied magnitude of error depends on the study's accuracy. For this reason, this study surveyed the GPS data's error and suggest calibrate technique. This study's result will be helpful for following studies using DGPS data. For this, this study takes two types study in road, and set triangulation coordinates, and compare it with GPS data. DGPS data contains less than 0.6m's error.

  • The 3D numerical analysis is carried out to investigate the settlement behavior of flexible mat foundations subjected to vertical loads. Special attention is given to the improved analytical method (YS-MAT) that reflects the mat flexibility and soil spring coupling effect. The soil model captures the stiffness of the soil springs as well as the shear interaction between the soil springs. The proposed method has been validated by comparing the results with other numerical methods and a field measurement on mat foundation. Through comparative studies, the settlement of the proposed method was in relatively good agreement with those of a field measurement and other numerical methods. The results permit us to estimate the response of the mat foundation subjected to vertical loads that should be taken into account in the combination of mat flexibility and soil continuity characteristics.

  • Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS) is most frequently diagnosed in the sleep laboratories and its severity is objectively estimated. In terms of treatment, the most prevalent method is the continuous positive airway pressure(CPAP) application as of now. However, in Korea, CPAP is still not sufficiently known and it is attributable to the fact that sleep study facilities have not been popularized. In this article, the authors present their own experience with CPAP in nine subjects with OSAS. In this study, CPAP was found to decrease stage 1 sleep and to increase stage 2 sleep, with increasing mean oxygen saturation and decreasing lowest oxygen saturation during nocturnal sleep. Also, it tended to increase sleep continuity and generally to improve sleep architecture. Rebound slow wave and/or REM sleep stages during CPAP were also noted in 8 out of 9 cases. The authors suggest that CPAP should be considered as the primary mode of treatment for patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and related educational programs for physicians should be developed and provided by sleep specialists.

  • To elucidate the relationship between the arachidonic acid (AA) content and the taste of broiler meat, the effects of AA-enriched oil (AAO) supplements on the fatty acid content and sensory perceptions of thigh meat were evaluated. Four types of oil, including corn oil (CO), a 1:1 mixture of AAO and palm oil (PO) (1/2 AAO), a 1:3 mixture of AAO and PO (1/4 AAO), and a 1:7 mixture of AAO and PO (1/8 AAO) were prepared. Each type of oil was mixed with silicate at a ratio of 7:3, and added to the diet at a final proportion of 5% of fresh matter. Broiler chickens were fed these diets for 1 wk before slaughter. In thigh meat, the AA content of the 1/2 and 1/4 AAO groups was significantly higher than that of the CO group. The AA content in thigh meat (y, mg/g) increased linearly with increasing dietary AAO content (x, g/100 g of diet), according to the equation y = 0.5674+0.4596x ($r^2$ = 0.8454). The content of other fatty acids was not significantly different among the 4 diet groups. Sensory evaluation showed that the flavor intensity, umami (L-glutamate taste), kokumi (continuity, mouthfulness, and thickness), and aftertaste of the 1/2 and 1/4 AAO groups were significantly higher than that of the CO group. There were significant positive correlations between AA content in thigh meat and the flavor intensity, total taste intensity, umami, and aftertaste. These data suggest that the taste of broiler meat can be improved by the amount of dietary AA supplementation.

  • Few cases have been reported in which the femoral interference screw has migrated into the posterior compartment after an ACL reconstruction. It usually requires removal, because it leads usually to mechanical symptom. However, the arthroscopic removal of a screw is a technically demanding procedure, especially in the case of an intact integrated ACL graft or one that is encapsulated around the screw. We present a case in which a displaced femoral interference screw migrated within the posterior compartment 11 years postoperatively, after the graft had been successfully incorporated at the femoral site and showed good continuity on MRI and arthroscopic examination. Although it is often technically challenging, through the use of a posterior trans-septal portal, we can successfully remove a displaced femoral interference screw even in the most difficult locations in the posterior compartment without damage to ACL graft.

  • If the motion is universal over the differences between the ancient age and the modern age, and between primitiveness and civilization, It is required to be studied, which make it possible to discover the universally valid interpreting elements of various societies and cultural phenomena. The study on the motion, as a base of universal motion study on animation and character modelling is considered as a very important part. The sampled motion prototype was classified by the continuity and the synchronicity that is a basis of modular analysis and of motion flow. Koguryo's mural paintings in old tombs has been the heritage and the symbol of the nation's historical identity and pride in Korean history. Koguryo is obviously a part of Korean history, which are of Korean elements. Accordingly, the mural paintings that this study has explicated is the origin as well as the history of Korean visual animation history, while the analysed and restored motion prototype is a module of Korean motion with golden section proportion.

  • Recently, a compression algorithm is widely used as a method for compressing geographic information data. However, such a compression algorithm has a problem that the continuity of the map data is insufficient to actually apply it to the geographic information data compression, and the compression rate is lowered because it can not be compressed into a single data. Therefore, in this paper, we have designed and implemented a Run-Length / Byte-Packing compression algorithm that enables compression of geographic information by combining the advantages of compression algorithms and improves compression and restoration speed. As a result of evaluating the implemented algorithm, it was confirmed that the proposed algorithm improved about 5% on average compared with the existing compression algorithm, and it was confirmed that the compression rate and the restoration speed were improved.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method with the improved continuity performance of overlap and add speech signal synthesis method using damping harmonic amplitude parameter. The existing method uses the average value of past and current parameters for the sinusoidal amplitude used as the weight of phase error function. But, the proposed method extracts the more accurate sinusoidal amplitude by using a correlation between the original signals and the synthesized signals for the sinusodal amplitude used as the weights. To verify the performance of the proposed method, we observed the average differential error value between the synthesized signals.
