This paper proposes a transformerless photovoltaic (PV) power converter system based on the DC/AC boost inverter, which can solve the leakage current and second-order ripple power issues in single-phase grid-connected PV inverters. In the proposed topology, the leakage current can be decreased remarkably since most of the common-mode currents flow through the output capacitor, by-passing parasitic capacitors, and grounding resistors. In addition, the inherent ripple power component in the single-phase grid inverter can be suppressed without adding any extra components. Therefore, bulky electrolytic capacitors can be replaced by small film capacitors. The effectiveness of the proposed topology has been verified by simulation and experimental results for a 1-kW PV PCS.
In order to improve the conversion efficiency and mitigate the EMI problem of conventional hard-switching inverters, a new soft-switching DC-AC inverter with a compact structure and a low modulation complexity is proposed in this paper. In the proposed structure, resonant inductors are connected in series for the arm branches, and resonant capacitors are connected in parallel for the neutral point branches. With the help of resonant components, the proposed structure achieves zero-current switching on the arm branches and zero-voltage switching on the neutral point branches. When compared with state-of-art soft-switching topologies, the proposed topology does not need auxiliary switches. Moreover, the commutation algorithm to realize soft-switching can be easily implemented. In this paper, the principle of the resonant operation of the proposed soft-switching converter is presented and its performance is verified through simulation studies. The feasibility of the proposed inverter is evaluated experimentally with a 2.4-kW prototype.
A single-phase step-up five-level inverter topology with a new phase-shifted pulse width modulation (PS-PWM) strategy is proposed in this paper. When compared with conventional single-phase five-level inverter topologies, the proposed topology can realize multilevel inversion with a double step-up ratio, a reduced number of switching devices and self-balanced capacitor voltages. When compared with the conventional PS-PWM strategy, the new PS-PWM strategy can be implemented with one carrier reduced, which makes it much easier to implement in a digital signal processor (DSP) system. Experimental results have been presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed inverter and the PS-PWM strategy.
In this paper, new topology is proposed that can dramatically reduce the converter power rating and increase the efficiency of total PV system. Since the output voltage of PV module has very wide voltage range, in general, the DC/DC converter is used to get constant high DC voltage. According to analysis of PV characteristics, in proposed topology, only 20% power of total PV system power is needed for DC/DC converter. DC/DC converter used in proposed topology has flat efficiency curve at all load range and very high efficiency characteristics. The total system efficiency is the product of that of converter and that of inverter. In proposed topology, because the converter efficiency curve is flat all load range, the total system efficiency at the low power range is dramatically improved. The proposed topology is implemented for 200kW PCS system. This system has only three DC/DC converters with 20kW power rating each other. It is only one-third of total system power. The experiment results show that the proposed topology has good performance.

This paper proposes new 13-level inverter topology and DC/DC converter buck-boost structure topology for multilevel, compounding uni-directional and bi-directional switches, and proposes high-efficient multilevel inverter system in which the proposed two PCS(Power Conditioning System) was connected in series. In proposed multilevel inverter of forming a output 13-level phase voltage by using total 18 switching parts, Then bi-directional switch has a characteristic of reducing conduction loss and controlling the reactive power effectively by separating electrically from the neutral point. DC/DC converter for supplying in dependent 3 DC voltage to the proposed multi-level inverter generates 180-degree phase shifted PWM by the symmetrically combined structure of 2 buck-boost converter and twice switching frequency efficiency can be obtained, meanwhile, the converter can step up/down the output voltage and 20% output can be generated comparing the input voltage. This proposed system is verified with the simulation and laboratory test.
This paper presents a current sensorless maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control method for dual-mode photovoltaic (PV) module-type interleaved flyback inverters (ILFIs). This system, called the MIC (Module Integrated Converter), has been recently studied in small PV power generation systems. Because the MIC is an inverter connected to one or two PV arrays, the power system is not affected by problems with other inverters. However, since the each PV array requires an inverter, there is a disadvantage that the initial installation cost is increased. To overcome this disadvantage, this paper uses a flyback inverter topology. A flyback inverter topology has an advantage in terms of cost because it uses fewer parts than the other transformer inverter topologies. The MPPT control method is essential in PV power generation systems. For the MPPT control method, expensive dc voltage and current sensors are used in the MIC system. In this paper, a MPPT control method without current sensor where the input current is calculated by a simple equation is proposed. This paper also deals with dual-mode control. Simulations and experiments are carried out to verify the performance and effectiveness of the proposed current sensorless MPPT control method on a 110 [W] prototype.

In this paper, the diode bridge-type ZVT(Zero- Voltage Transition) inverter is proposed. It consists of one a auxiliaI${\gamma}$ switch, three resonant inductors and six blockin당 diodes. So, the main advantage of the proposed t torXJ!ogy is the reduction of the auxiliar${\gamma}$ switch compare to the conventional ZVT inverter. The topology of t the propostxl lVT inverter is analyztxl with a description of the control conditions based on the load current. A And the resonant period control for operating the proposed inverter optimally is discussed by using resonant i inductor current ftxxlback. To verify the proposed topology, the detailed simulation and exJX끼mental results i indicate that zero volta당e operation during transition can be achieved.

This paper presents a novel high-power-factor circuit topology of AC to AC current-fed type high frequency resonant inverter which includes the function of power factor correction(PFC) in the proposed inverter to operate the AC input block with high power factor. The proposed circuit topology of AC to AC current fed type high resonant inverter removes DC link electrolytic capacitor and has also the one of power factor correction(PFC) in the inverter circuit without an additional PFC circuit since the input current by constituting it in parallel as an unit inverter, which assumes the class-E high frequency resonant inverter of conventional current-fed type, flows in the form of the resultant current flowing through each constant current reactor($L_{d1}$, $L_{d2}$). The circuit analysis of proposed inverter is generally described by adopting the normalized parameters and the evaluation of its operating characteristics are conducted by using the parameters such as the ratio of switching and resonant frequency(${\mu}$), coupling coefficient(k) and so on. An example of procedure for circuit design based on the characteristic values obtained from the theoretical analysis is presented. To confirm the validity of the theoretical analysis, the experimental results are also presented. In the future, the proposed inverter shows it can be practically used as power supply system for induction heating application, DC-DC converter etc.
